Discussion Little big planet made into a browser game?
I have been seeing everyone using AI to put games into browsers, I hate AI but if it brings back this game easily accessible on a browser, would be the only good thing in my opinion that AI would of done, I am wondering how many people would actually play it, it would probably be dangerous if the multiplayer worked too, what do you think?

Discussion RePlanet is the way to go!
Hey! I'm guessing you are in a similar boat right now. I just want to tell my story a little bit 🌍
I had LittleBigPlanet 1 & 2 on the PS3. Beautiful games, an immaculate level editor that my ten year old self dumped thousands of hours into & I simply couldn't get enough. I also love games like Geometry Dash, Mario Maker, CMON!!! put a level editor into your game and best believe i'm in 1.2 seconds
These two media molecule masterpieces are STILL just my favourite games of all time. Which is why when I found out about RePlanet, I felt like dis guy -------> 🤯
Because RPCS3 didn't work enough for me. It was bad, and simply didn't run nice enough. I didn't want my game to FEEL like it was on an emulator, i wanted something closer to Halo: The Master Chief Collection. But you know, LittleBigPlanets own little grooved in version of it.
So I checked out this RePlanet project which i found ON HERE, and made friends with this Amused guy who happened to be singlehandedly spearheading the entire project. And yes, it's true; RePlanet is NOT using AI. But i'm kind of offended that any of you guys thought that he did 👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇
Because let's be completely upfront here: I'm not playing your vibecoded slop game. It's kind of as simple as that. So please, if you have a version of this game made in claude, can I save you the not-effort your putting into your nothing and say you can respectfully stop? Because despite the reception I SEE YOU ARE GETTING, anyone with a frontal lobe and has EVER touched the LBP games will not be touching your dogshit with a ten foot pole. And you can trust me, Because I'm Cheeseryz 😁
Anyway, get fucking hyped REAL PEOPLE because this RePlanet is literally going to handle everything for you. Provide a copy and just straight up launch it. Co-op, Level Publishing, Server lists. It's a masterclassed build led by one of the most talented fucks i've ever gotten the pleasure to watch work (If you see this amused, FUCK!!!!) and i know if ANY OF YOU care remotely about LBP remotely in the same capacity I DO then I KNOW you will see that RePlanet Genuinely Fucks Hard. SO GET ON THIS ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Amused is flying through this build and I want to see you guys on launch day
Heres the link to the discord server, all updates here and i'm incredibly active ATM👇👇
https://www.replanet.dev/
The server is full of extremely likeminded passionate fucks who just want our game back with no shortcuts. Oh, and it's just insanely optimized. So RPCS3 boat WE CAN FINALLY COME HOME!
Okay. You might have seen me bounce around the reddit in a couple replies earlier because it seems that people are actually entertaining the idea of a vibecoded lbp LOOOOOOOOL you guys are morons and i'm better then you
Have a good night everybody! And I've been thinking about streaming this build over on twitch aswell so if you guys end up making any levels in RePlanet i want to see them! !!! ! !! ! ! ! I'm definitely going to putting up a few of my own Aswell.
Oh, and HAPPY 18TH BIRTHDAY LITERALLY THE BEST GAME EVER PUT ON A STOREFRONT! And thank you for teaching me genuine creativity and blessing me with an artful eye i carry around with me every day. This game changed my life and mentally a part of my brain will always just be in The Gardens listening to that beautiful flute chirp away 🤘

Art Happy Birthday LittleBigPlanet!
Here's a little fun fact I have about me first playing LittleBigPlanet:
I apparently download LBP 1 in 2011, but I have no idea what made me want it. But I'm sure glad I wanted it :D
I got introduced to the most creative & amazing levels ever created by the team at Media Molecule (alongside Cambridge, XDEV, United Front Games, Double Eleven, Tarsier Studios & Sumo Digital) and the community. This game series will always be my #1 Favorite, it's what started me wanting to draw and share my art on the internet. May the community still thrive on!

Discussion Since it is the 18th birthday of LBP, I present a costume contest!
The goal of this contest is to bring out the best of both franchises, heroes, villains, you design it for sackboy.
If you are not sure what anime is or where to start, check out: Evangelion, Full-Metal Alchemist, or some other series. You can also pull from big cinematic films like Pacific Rim or other big movies. Patience is a virtue!

News Happy 18th birthday, LittleBigPlanet! LittleBigPlanet 2 native PC restore: update, and the new server
LBP1 came out in North America 18 years ago today (27 October 2008), so here's a birthday update on the LBP2 PC restore. Quick recap: this isn't an emulator. It's a static recompilation: the game's own PS3 code is translated into a Windows program, so physics, level logic and the create tools behave exactly like the original.
Then (4 days ago): it booted, played the intro movie and rendered the first level at about 14 fps. Not playable.
Now:
- Story levels and cutscenes play, and the game writes its own save as you go.
- It holds 30 fps, the game's own cap, in the levels tested so far. The remaining dips are mostly one hitch while a level loads.
- Lighting matches the original. The first level's lighting and the arcade screens were checked pixel by pixel against reference captures of the real game, and a pile of broken effects (flat red objects, washed-out screens, missing shapes) are fixed.
- Sharper textures at a distance, with no shimmer on carpets and hair (being switched on by default now).
Still being worked on (being honest):
- Frame interpolation above 60 fps exists but stays off until it's flawless.
- Online isn't hooked into the game yet. That's next.
Server: Online is being rebuilt from scratch as its own project. It's a new server that speaks LBP2's original online language, so the game connects without being modified and players never touch a config file What already works and is tested:
- Sign-in with zero setup: accounts, login and secure tickets, with bans that actually stick.
- Levels: Cool Pages, search, lucky dip, publishing and unpublishing your levels.
- Social: hearts, queue, comments, reviews, ratings, scoreboard.
- Dive In: matchmaking plus a relay, so strict home routers (NAT) don't block co-op with strangers.
- Moderation: grief reports, kicks and bans that end the session, and an audit log.
- Anti-cheat on the server side: spoofed logins, fake scores and relay abuse are refused, with tests for each.
- Load tested: 500 simulated players on one PC, about 1,500 requests a second, every endpoint answering in under 15 ms (99th percentile), using about 1.5 CPU cores.
- A plain connection mode for real PS3s is already in, so original consoles can join later.
The standards (these don't bend):
- 1:1 with the PS3 game. Game logic, physics, scripts, save and network formats are the original code. Nothing gets "improved." The game never runs its simulation faster than 30 Hz.
- Only presentation gets modernized (frame pacing, anti-aliasing, high refresh rates), and the original path always stays behind a switch for comparison.
- No guessing. Every fix has to be backed by evidence, checked against the real game, and measured for fps before it goes in.
- Nothing from Sony is ever shared. You'll need your own copy of the game. No game files, no keys, no branding.
The goals haven't changed: online for good, over 60 fps, smooth on modest PCs, a patch so real PS3s can reconnect, then LBP1 and LBP3. Built on ps3recomp. Happy birthday, Sackboy. Questions welcome!

Video An Animated Tribute for LittleBigPlanet’s 18th Birthday!
Poured my heart and soul into this over the course of 2 days when I realized LBP’s anniversary was coming up!
Man I don’t think I can properly describe how much LittleBigPlanet means to me. I love that game series so much. My favorite was the 2nd, but I can never forget the feeling that the first game gave me. Something about the fuzzy graphics, or the fact that we didn’t play it as often as the 2nd and 3rd—it made it feel so whimsical. Ethereal. I can’t find the words. It was unreal.
Every few years, my sister and I would spend time replaying all the games’ story modes and DLCs. We went through one of those phases again around 2022-2024 and got kinda obsessed honestly. That’s how I created my OCs Cy and Jet; they started out as LBP characters we’d roleplay as in game!
We made plans to try and get a PS4 to access online levels, which our absolutely amazing brother ended up purchasing for us on HIS BIRTHDAY I believe (THANK YOUUUU), so we could experience our favorite community levels again.
We played those old bomb and shark survivals, Kitty’s Survival Island, Fishing Frenzy 1 and 2, Angry Whale Survival, all of ima_taka’s levels (pinnacle of nostalgia I nearly cry EVERY time I play through Bora Bora Island bro), Survival Soldiers, LittleBigCollector (possibly my favorite and most creatively impressive level ever), our old levels, and even some new ones we hadn’t tried yet, like the Evergreen Park adventure. I could go on and on.
I think I knew it was inevitable. That’s why we wanted the PS4 to have access to the servers again. We knew we didn’t have much time left. When the servers shut down briefly, I had faith that they’d be brought back.
I wasn’t even sad or angry, I just felt empty. Like this gaping hole was in my chest. But it was inevitable, this happens to all games eventually. You all, the community, in your endless passionate love for the game, archived nearly all of the levels, and my sister and I soon learned a system of downloading them and playing them offline. We even managed to join a custom server with our brother’s help.
Still, it’s not the same, but the otherworldly feeling the games gave me couldn’t last forever. I hope one day we’ll get a new entry to the LittleBigPlanet series, but if we don’t? That’s okay. I’ll forever cherish the memories I do have. Love ya, LBP 🧡

Level Grand Slam World Sports Challenge by ima_taka (LBP1 Level of the Day Finale)
LBP1 doesn't get enough love, so to celebrate its birthday month, I'm highlighting one level a day. This level isn't as popular as Titanic or Bora Bora Island, but it was one of my favorite levels as a kid. I like how you get each sport as a prize if you get a perfect score on that sport.
You can play this on custom servers (Bonsai or Beacon) or download it to your own moon without ja1lbreaks or servers by using this guide for ps3 or this guide for ps4/5.

Photo Amateur test on making mid-Victorian lady outfit in LBP3
She's wearing the Babyface Bonnet, a piece from the common Babyface costume in LittleBigPlanet 2, the Plastic Mustache (x3 on her forehead), a common decoration from LittleBigPlanet 1, the PVC Raincoat, a piece from the Wilderness themed costume pieces in LittleBigPlanet 1, and the Fabric Leaf - Light, an Eve's Asylum themed decoration from LittleBigPlanet 2. This is an amateur attempt at making a historically accurate mid 19th century Victorian period costume for women. (around 1840s-1860s.) to anyone who's a fellow fashion historian, would you say this looks accurate enough for the limited amount of stuff you can have and use, especially without DLC, or not? As a bit of a historical fashion nerd myself, I think this looks pretty good. What are your thoughts? (Also, I changed the coloring filter in the level to be black and white so I won't have to worry so much about manual sticker coloring in this test.)

Level Tell me what you think of my level: The Crabicide: Intro (BETA) on beacon.
I'm making a level on Beacon that's in a beta state, but I will continue to make more of it if you like the concept. (kinda like a pilot for the series and a beta) Please tell me what you think if you can play it.

Video A cozy video all about LBP’s Music
Had so much fun making this one. While putting it together and talking about each track, I was surprised by the amount of LBP I still listen too! Really shows how well they did with the score and track selection.

Photo I've never seen this many games from one franchise being sold at CeX
A bit blurry but 13 LBP games, specifically 1 and 2
Saddens me a bit that so many are getting sold off now. It was obviously going to happen, especially with the rise of emulation, but it's still saddening.
