Linux Mint
Even my father who cant do anything without Help on His Phone can Deal with it. He Just needs reminders to Update...
Its great to start and also great to keep in my opinion. If you like tinkering with your distros and like to have mental breakdowns and Shooting yourself in the foot occaisonally you can go for Other distros. But in my opinion nothing felt as easy as Linux Mint.
I currently Run CachyOS which works great too, but I cant recommend It to newbies. Just wanted to stay this because from my Perspektive its one of the trending Linux Distros right now.

Usually when you look up how to do something in Linux, you’ll likely find a link to a post about Ubuntu, so if that’s how you’re going to troubleshoot, I would suggest something Ubuntu based. Linux Mint, Pop!OS, and ZorinOS are all Ubuntu based. Try them all out on Distrosea, and see which one you like best.

✻ Smokey says: always mention your distro, some hardware details, and any error messages, when posting technical queries! :)

None is best, it is all depends on what you need it for and which hardware you have. For example Google "linux on <your laptop>". For example https://www.google.com/search?q=linux+omnibook+x

The most important thing for a noob is that you pick a distro that's got a decently long history of being well-supported and has a big user base so that you can easily find answers to any questions you might have.
Ubuntu, Mint, and Fedora are all good options that fulfill these requirements, but they are certainly not the only options.

Probably Linux Mint.
Or alternatively: whatever your most nerdy friend is willing to help you put on your laptop.
