I’m seriously torn on this and would love to hear people’s thoughts. If you’re unfamiliar with it, there is a proposed constitutional amendment on the ballot. It would prohibit a governor’s pardon 60 days before the gubernatorial election, until inauguration day.
Hi all, I’ve gotten my hair cut and dyed at Posh Salon on Richmond Road for about 3 years, but over the months they keep adding new charges because of new policies I guess and I also don’t really get the haircuts I want and am asking for.
I’m thinking of switching stylists there possibly, but the creeping charges are frustrating me and sometimes I don’t know until I look at my receipt. I’ve been overcharged there before too.
Does anyone have any recs that are not Cha Cha’s? (those prices are absolutely insane lol) i feel like Posh and Cha Cha’s are the two bigger salons that do awesome work, but those are pretty much the only 2 I see recommended here.
I understand I could go to Walmart or order some from Lenses with a prescription, however my costume plans fell through and I have a great idea for a last minute costume, however the costume greatly depends on having certain contacts in, and I don’t have the time to get a new script and order them. I also know that anywhere that sells them without a prescription could be dodgy but I wanted to put some feelers out before I throw the whole idea away
My husband and I play in a group that changes TTRPGs once we complete a campaign. So far, we've played Dragonbane, Shadowdark, Morkborg, Mothership, Blades in the Dark and Lancer.
D&D is a lot of fun, but there's a ton of other games out there that we think people would really like if they got the chance to experience them. Some of them are far easier and faster to learn than D&D too.
So my question is - if there was a thing once or twice a month where you could try a one shot of a new game, would you do it?
It is time to once again, “check your mail, Lexington!” An additional 4,189 Fayette County residents will soon receive letters notifying them that some or all of their outstanding medical debt has been abolished.
The Urban County Council voted unanimously in October 2024 to enter a partnership with Undue Medical Debt, a national nonprofit that purchases and abolishes medical debts. The Council’s investment of $1 million has the potential to forgive up to $90 million in debt.
The most recent round of abolishment is valued at $8,157,509.54, bringing the total amount of outstanding medical debt forgiven in Lexington to $31,318,603.59 for 15,144 individual residents. Recipients of this relief have received an average of $2,000 in medical debt forgiveness.
Those who receive mailed notifications are encouraged to keep their letters as proof that their debts have been eliminated. This relief is automatic, based on the qualifications outlined below.
Medical debt relief is source-based, meaning Undue Medical Debt can only eliminate qualifying medical debts it is able to acquire from partner providers, like hospitals or debt collectors. Medical debt relief cannot be requested by individuals.
I’m trying to understand the amendment on the sample ballot about the Governor’s ability to pardon people? It’s so long and windy I’m not sure if my answer is yes or no. Can someone explain what that amendment is asking?
I’m losing my job in a month, and I’m considering reducing my expenses by switching my phone and/or internet service. Mint Mobile is doing “Minternet” now, and the website says it’s available for my Lexington address. Has anyone tried it? Who handled installation? How’s the speed, frequency of outages, etc?
Edit: I currently have Metronet (fiber) internet, for comparison, and am happy with it.
What are the yummy hotspots you’d recommend inside Keeneland to grab good food if we have general admission tickets?
Do men and women normally wear hats as such at The Derby, or is that a faux pas?
What’s a helpful tidbit you’d share with everyone?
Thanks!!
I'm unsure if this sort of post is allowed. I see a lot of signs about "we do Christmas lights!" Or businesses who install Christmas lights in general. For people who have done this and paid for it, what was your experience like? Was it expensive? How do they gauge the pricing?
Yeah I understand I could inquire and get my own estimates but I'd rather hear a real experience with this rather than have someone come to my home lol.
Is there any haunted houses nearby open today? I work the whole weekend and it’s the last week of Halloween so I was really hoping to go to one tonight, can’t seem to find any open during the week.
My name is Emma Curtis and it’s the honor of my life to serve as the Councilwoman for Lexington’s 4th District.
I’m currently nearing the end of my first term in office and seeking re-election for a second term because I believe that Lexington belongs to ALL of us—not just a select few.
You can learn more about where I stand on the issues facing District 4 and all of Lexington here: On The Issues
You can learn more about what I’ve done in my first term here: Emma's Record
And I’m here to answer any questions you have about our campaign, what’s going on at City Hall, or anything else!
Ask away!
PS—There’s been a lot of nastiness and pettiness going around during this election cycle, so please try to be kind and respectful to each other here, even when we disagree 💙
Edit: Okay, y'all! My dog needs a walk, so I'm gonna hop off for now.
I think I responded to everybody, but I'll log back on later to double check and make sure I didn't miss anybody. Thanks for your questions and for being kind to each other in the comments 💙
If you want to learn more about my campaign or request a yard sign or any of that jazz, you can do so at emmaforlex.com.
I'm looking for a piano that is available to the public. I'm not sure where to look or start I know there's one at the mall and Willis music but other than that, I don't know and would appreciate any help
