Introduction

Hello Masters Builders, and welcome to the official r/lego Open Forum post. This is your opportunity to tell us what you think of r/lego, make suggestions or comments about the rules, ask open questions about the community, or share whatever else is on your mind.

Note that this post is for discussion of r/lego itself. If you have a general question about something related to Lego, make a post instead of asking here.

It's October already!

SpOOky season has begun! Or as some Lego fans like to call it, "MOCtober" is here. This is my favorite time of year to build, because it means getting out the Halloween sets and starting those pre-build plans for the Winter Village. Autumn is also a great time to attend Lego shows, so check out your local Lego Groups to see if they are participating in a Convention, Festival or Hobby Show nearby.

Let us know what's on your mind this month. What have you always wondered about? What rule do you want clarified, or changed? Do you have any suggestions you've been trying to find a chance to make? I won't promise that we will make the change(s) you want, but I will commit to explaining the reason we have the rules and policies we have.

I’m really surprised there’s not more chat about this one?

As a big Lego and Warhammer fan I’m delighted to pick this up as closest to Lego Warhammer we will ever likely get. Loved the original idea but forgot about it.

This build was made for my LUG's, oops, I mean "Fan CoLab's" monthly build contest which was to make your own "Happy Plant" type of build.

I had fun trying to come up with a theme for these guys while also keeping them (mostly) monochrome. You can find more of my builds on my Instagram.

To mark such a special occasion, I decided to build the IMC Phantom. https://titanfall.fandom.com/wiki/Phantom

This project is based on concept art created by Danny Gardner

I’d also like to give special thanks to the following users, whose posts provided particularly useful references and inspiration:

🔸 u/microwave1236 for their visualization of the flying Phantom in Trailmakers:

🔸 u/Used-Ad-1759 for their post The Phantom (Titanfall 2 ship re-creation):

‐---------------------------------------------------------------

🔸 u/Bravo-Tango_7274 for their post Lore of the IMC Goblin Dropship/Gunship. This is where I found the cockpit interior reference that I used for the project:

🔸 u/IVIuggle for his Lego Scissor Lift MOC and the accompanying instructions they provided. It was very useful during the construction of the landing gear.

Collection Sealed Alpha Team collection (2001 wave)

Post image
59 Upvotes

I recently completed a goal of mine to acquire a "brand new" copy of every Alpha Team 1st wave set. Alpha Team holds a very special place in my heart. I received the Helicopter as a gift shortly before my 5th birthday. It was the 1st legitimate Lego set I ever got apart from Duplo and Lego Classic bricks. I became obsessed, and would not stop begging my parents to buy me the awesome Ogel Control Center 😂

The vibe of older original Lego themes was always immaculate.

And for those wondering, don't worry... these fantastic toys will not be imprisoned in their incrediblely artistic boxes forever 😉

I added a 3rd floor to the X-Mansion and it improved it greatly imo.

My favorite is definitely the bugle.

I just wish I had enough space to put the bugle antenna.

First post here, so here we go! 😅

My latest creation took me around 3 weeks to complete and brings us to a forgotten Victorian trading district that mysteriously vanished from official city maps. 😶‍🌫️ Just in time for Halloween!

The Crooked Quarter features five rather peculiar shops, winding staircases, twisted rooftops, hidden passageways and fully detailed interiors across multiple levels.

Every corner has its own story to tell.

Would love to hear what you all think! 🫣

I finally found the Arkham set I got it from a close friend. It was a bit steep in pricing, but I needed it for my mini Gotham city. I was just impossible for me not to get it.

MOC Update: I tried your advice for the curved road between Goldshire and Stormwind

Thumbnail

Hi everyone!

A couple of months ago I asked how you would build a curved, natural-looking road over uneven terrain. Thanks to everyone who answered, your comments were really useful. I've added the road to the build, and thank you all for that.

Here is the result: the road now follows the slope, curves between the village and the towers, and blends into the terrain instead of looking like a flat strip. The last photo shows the complete MOC once finished.

What I did: there's no single trick, it's a mix of all the techniques you suggested. I took a bit from each comment and combined them.

Still not 100% happy with the transition near the top, so I'd love to hear what you think and what you would change.

Quick note: some of the photos are screenshots taken from a video, so they're a bit soft. I'll take proper photos once the section is finished.

English isn't my first language, so I used an AI tool to translate this post
