Beginning C++ through game programming, fourth edition.

I purchased this book a few years ago. And I was wondering how viable it is for learning, and if anyone has used this book, what are your thoughts on it. I'm turning forty in november, and i'm ready to pick up a new skill i hope this book can put me on the path to that.

Making games is fun and can keep you motivated. I don't know this particular book, but it looks reasonable from the table of contents. Also, definitely checkout https://www.learncpp.com/

It is a great resource for learning C++.
