Buying help 2 Laptops for 8 year sons

Im looking for laptops for my two 8 year old sons.

They really want to play Java Minecraft games like cobblemon. They have tried gw2 and new world on my computer and enjoyed them but I know a pure gaming laptop would be more expensive.

Im hoping to find a good deal with the holidays coming up. Any advice or recommendations are greatly appreciated.

800 each is the top of my budget was hoping to keep ir around 600 to 650 each if possible.

Acer sells some last-gen models as "Certified Refurbished" on eBay. People who bought them have reported getting new machines with 0 battery cycles. They also come with 2 year warranty.

The Aspire 14 and 16 below have Lunar Lake 226V CPUs with good integrated graphics. They will play Java Minecraft great, but has limitations on mods and shaders. The Asire 16 is more expensive and has a better display. Both are under $500 as of right now.

The least expensive actual gaming laptop they sell is the Nitro V with RTX 4050, it's just under $800.

You could honestly get them both a used Xbox series S and Minecraft, hell it would still be cheaper to even buy em a cheaper smaller 1080p tv for the second console

for two kids playing minecraft you dont need anything near 800 dollars, used thinkpad with 8th gen intel will handle java edition fine and cost like 200 each

Yea, tho that will only handle java, and bro don't think like that, my 7th gen elitebook barely gave 40 fps on low, atleast get a 10th gen cuz minecraft is much more demanding after recent updates

for 8 year olds look on secondhand market. Unfortunately this makes it challenging to recommend specifics because it depends on your local availability. But I had good luck with buing used business laptops. They usually come without SSDs so keep that in mind. In my area I can get a decent i5 16GB ram laptop for about $200-300 on facebook marketplace.

Was gonna say a Chrombook/Googlebook, but not sure the games would work

Mac Neo? Will have to jump through some hoops to make it work

Or like mentioned, a used Windows machine, I have a 1k Windows machine for some school work and it sucks, at your budget it will be worse
