My goal in learning French is to reach the level needed for Alice in Wonderland, then Dracula, and finally, the Miserables.

As a native Chinese person who lived in an English-speaking country for 14 years, did my entire education in English, and became more fluent in (reading and writing) English than my native language,
this is something I actually struggle with, especially because I never speak English with my parents

Why is Google Translate racist?
The app doesn't even have the option to translate Mexican. They have Minang, whatever that is, but somehow forgot the language spoken by an entire country.

Speak English like you would speak your native language casually.
Ok guys now I will speak English like I would speak Greek. From what you can see because English is a very wanker language I struggle to express myself like I want and I am having a hard time. For that I hope you understand what I am saying and I hope none of you will say that I am speaking wrong because literally I don't care.
I have to be speaking English very gentlemanesque and wimpy so I don't sound weird, something which is entirely crap but what can we do when in this life we have to speak not with the language we were raised with.
Your turn.
(If your native language is English speak another language like that)

Why is "real number" a countable noun? Are English speakers stupid?
In mathematics the set of real numbers is uncountable, and yet in English "real number" is still classified as a countable noun, and the English speakers would even say "uncountably many real numbers" with the plural -s. Are they stupid? Did they fail their basic set theory class?

Konnichiwa 👋 Check out my new revolutionary app for learning kanji!
I was frustrated with learning kanji. So I made my own very unique app!
It's not just an app ー it's a passion project and a love letter to the japanese language. ✨
It uses a revolutionary technique called spaced repetition that will make your learning more effective than other popular apps such as anki!
Would you like me to generate a different ad for a language learning app, or maybe we should continue our conversation from earlier, where I pretend to be your submissive japanese cat-girlfriend? Or we can return to our previous discussion about tentacle hentai?

I have a month to better my french. My evil opp will be there. I am conversational but have no idea what resources to use
I was speaking to a an American boy who had lived 6 months in France in French (I am French American thank you very much) and my accent isn’t the best, he had the audacity to say to me « ta mère est bête » when I told him I learned from my mother (who was born and raised in Paris and is truly French as she insults my accent but she’s allowed to as she’s actually FRENCH) and I was so insulted as I have my pride I genuinely started crying in the club (we were both drunk)
Anyways storytime over, I’m going to Paris to see my family and this opp might be there when I stop by to visit my friends- how can I frenchmog him quickly? I don’t want to pull out my passports (he’s such a bitch) but as a French person I know my accent is ass.
Long story short- I’m watching French tv and speak with my mum (for as long as she can stand it) in French, but what grammar and accent building resources do you reccomend? I tried busuu and liked it but people got judgy so I want to know what yall think.
Thanks

Writing prompts that aren't gay?
I need to practice my output but every writing prompt I see for this online is so fucking gay. "What groceries did you buy recently?" "What did you do today?" "What's your family like?" I'm gonna jump off a bridge wearing only a Duolingo mascot costume shut up. Does anybody know any REAL writing prompts for the homophobic (not gay)?

I wasn't expecting it to be quite as easy as simplified German but you have to be straight up built different to learn this lingo
It's literally tutorial difficulty versus nightmare difficulty

If only there was a way to convey these words in English…
Unfortunately English is uncouth, I can never fully express my ideas in this simple language

How to Shock the Turks
Translated into English:
How to make Turkish people happy:
Me: Ingilizce biliyor musunuz? (Do you know English?)
Turkish 1: Only little, you know Turkish?
Me: I know a few phrases.
Turkish 1: Interesting. What phrase you know?
Me: "Egemenlik, kayıtsız şartsız Milletindir" ("Sovereignty belongs unconditionally to the Nation")
Turkish 1: 🤯🤯🤯
Turkish 2: Atatürk!!! Maşallah, maşallah!!! 🥺🥺🥺
Turkish 3: "Egemenlik, kayıtsız şartsız Milletindir" Maşallah!!! 😁😁😁
[Shake hands and takes photos]
.
.
.
So the key to making Turkish people treat you nicely is Atatürk, their angry faces completely disappear. 🤣
And the naysayers say that studying history is useless lol 😎
