[Paid Casting Call] Actors Wanted for Ancient Egyptian Immersive Theater Production – Portage, MI (February 2027)

I'm casting six actors for The Harem Conspiracy, a new immersive historical theater production premiering in Portage, Michigan, in February 2027.

I've developed this production around one of ancient Egypt's most fascinating criminal cases: the assassination conspiracy against Pharaoh Ramesses III.

The audience will experience a dramatic recreation of the ancient Egyptian trial, hear testimony from the accused, examine historical evidence, and ultimately vote on the guilt or innocence.

This is a professionally organized, independently produced event, and all acting positions are paid.

Roles Available

We're casting six performers:

  • Judge
  • Prosecutor
  • Prince
  • Conspirator
  • Guard
  • Presenter

Performers of all genders and backgrounds are encouraged to audition. Prior experience with historical theater is not required.

Compensation and Schedule

Proposed compensation: $1,000 per performer for the full production engagement, subject to final contract terms.

  • Performances: February 6, 13, and 20, 2027
  • Location: Portage, Michigan
  • Total performances: 12 (four per Saturday)
  • Rehearsals: Scheduled rehearsals and independent preparation leading up to opening
  • Auditions: In person, in the Kalamazoo/Portage area

Exact audition details, rehearsal schedules, and performance call times will be provided as arrangements are finalized.

How to Apply

Please email [theharemconspiracy@gmail.com](mailto:theharemconspiracy@gmail.com) with:

  1. Your name and contact information
  2. The role(s) you're interested in
  3. A brief description of your acting or performance experience (a résumé is welcome but not required)
  4. Any known scheduling conflicts during the rehearsal period or February performance dates

Application deadline: November 9, 2026.

You can learn more about the production at:

https://theharemconspiracy.com

If you know local actors, theater students, or performers who might be interested, I'd appreciate you passing this along.

Thanks, Kalamazoo! I'm excited to bring a little ancient Egyptian history to the area.

Edited to add information based on comment questions:

To express interest in auditioning, please complete our actor interest form (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScV_3bs2XRr0X9gulUtJomPfp5LrMnHk8Cc3AmWEXln0PGXrA/viewform?usp=dialog).

Auditions will be held in person. We’ll follow up by email with scheduling details, the audition location, and instructions about what to prepare once those arrangements are finalized.

Please note that submitting the form expresses interest; it does not commit you to the production. Questions can be sent to [theharemconspiracy@gmail.com](mailto:theharemconspiracy@gmail.com).

Rehearsals are planned to begin December 1, with approximately 20 rehearsal hours per actor. Exact rehearsal dates and times will be established based on availability of cast.

Performances are February 6, 13, and 20, 2027, with four performances each day. We’re currently estimating a 12-hour commitment on each performance day, for approximately 56 hours total per actor, including rehearsals.

The proposed $1,000 is the total compensation per actor for that full engagement, including rehearsals and all three performance days. Final contract terms and the payment schedule are still being finalized and will be available for review before anyone commits.

Discussion Walking through local nature preserves - question

• Upvotes

A couple of days ago, I was walking through bow in the clouds, and today I’m walking through Bishops bog.

I don’t think it’s hunting, as the shots are coming at regular intervals, but maybe target practice or something. I’ve never been much of an outdoor person until I moved up here, and I definitely don’t know anything about hunting, but would it be prudent to have some sort of a reflective belt or vest? I don’t know how much I need to worry about something like that as I never really took any nature walks or anything of the sort until this past summer when we moved to Michigan.

Thanks in advance! I had no idea that fall would be so beautiful up here!

Is Burdick St. ever going to be done?

Does anybody know what's up with the road construction on Burdick at Stockbridge? Seems like they have had that closed all summer. Are you ever going to reopen the road?

Discussion Moved to an apartment community that does not respond to maintenance request.

Moved to a well-known community in Northwest Kalamazoo, 2/bed, 2/bath.

Coud not figure oy why so much dirt came up in one area of my daughter's bedroom. Pulled back the HUD grade carpeting and there is a 1/3 in wide crack in the flooring (cement). Goes roughly 6 feet.

Reported it to the office and here we sit with the cold weather coming upon us and no response from office. My first inclination was to get very ticked off. Then I thought about jumping heads (meaning calling district manager.

Any calmer suggestions would be appreciated.

Waited 5 weeks for a 3 by 6 area to be painted.

The past two weeks have been perfect. Probably a little too warm as trends go. However, the sunrises have been amazing

Please reach out to me with additional questions and we can negotiate the price as well.

Restaurants / Bars When did breakfast get so expensive?

I haven't been out to eat breakfast in a long time as I typically make most meals at home but it sounded good. Started looking around & it seems like the average price almost everywhere is around $14. I remember when you could get a full stack of "specialty" (choc chip, blueberry) pancakes for $9.

I'm still going out but I'm a little sad lol Going to try Butler's as they're slightly cheaper than what I've checked out so far & I haven't tried them before

Discussion White solar powered camera on W maple St/South Park St

I believe it was installed very recently. It doesn't look like a Flock camera. Does anyone know if it's essentially the same thing or is it something else entirely?
