A while ago I bought both KOTOR 1 and 2 during a Steam sale because of an attack of nostalgia.
I had played at the first one on XBox more than 20 years ago but never at the second.
I finally got to them and I decided to replay at KOTOR 1 first, to reacquaint myself with the story.
When I got to the end of the Leviathan I couldn't believe it.
I had forgotten how stupid that part was.
The devs make you fight against Malak. 1v1. Twice.
In order to progress you must win the fights (you take him down to low life and then plot armor kicks in).
Otherwise it's game over.
Even though you had just kicked Malak's ass twice, Bastila pulls a Trask out of nowhere to allow you and the others escape.
Why???
I'm not talking about the narrative decision of having Bastila stay back to stall Malak.
I'm talking about the execution.
How did the devs not realize how stupid it was to have you beat the main boss in two very easy fights and then force you to flee instead of just defeating him for good?
He couldn't even rely on the Star Forge to empower him.
