Anyone know if this will work to replace the original bulb? It's for a Gen 2

Tell me your gripes and likes of the bike and don't hold back, I just want to know what everyone's experience is like with these bikes and how they do on and off road.
Thanks guys

505 miles from Bakersfield to Point Lobos, down the 1 through Big Sur to Pismo for pizza at Del’s Pizzeria and the tail end of sunset, and back home at night via the 166.
That’s the ride I completed 2 Sundays ago on my 2024 KLR 650. It’s the ride I took to try to force myself to fall in love with the KLR again after spending so much time away with the side chick (2025 Honda SCL500) since July. And it’s the ride that made me realize that it’s time to move on from the KLR.
As my first bike, it’s been amazing, and aside from the two drops I’ve had at a stop and the frustrations with dialing in the windscreen for comfort (yes I took it off for this ride about half way through because the tall vstream was throwing a lot of dirty air at the top of my head and torso), I’ve not had many complaints about it. But on this trip it left me wanting so much more in terms of performance.
I plan to restore the factory suspension and take it into the dealership for a safety inspection then will be listing it on Marketplace shortly after that. I’m not sure what I’ll get to replace it but one thing is for sure, the next bike will have a 6th gear.

Hi! I went camping recently, and I usually go camping for a week or two. Between fall and spring, that means more firewood. I realized that the bike was good for hauling logs of firewood to my campsite. Not the ideal setup on the tail with the box, but it worked. Looking back, I guess I was pushing my luck with the size of the lumber. Was probably at/beyond the max. Anyone have trouble going higher, perhaps with passengers? I figure the risks are the obvious, with suspension and tire tubes.
I thought about a plastic sled. Doesn't need to be fancy, so long as it doesn't get caught up.

There is a guy selling a 2009 KLR for around 3500. He has around 6k miles on it. Says he rode his other bikes more and never really road it. I asked him if it burned oil and he said he didn’t know due to him not riding it. He added new plastic fairings. I have heard that the 09 bikes burn a lot of oil. Is this bike work taking a look at? Would there be any other questions to ask?
Rode from Memphis to the Ozarks for 3 days and back. 940 miles. Only used a quart of oil!

Hello, any tips for carrying extra fuel? just a bottle in the milk crate?, any good ways to mount a gallon or so? currently thinking of just trying to find a place to attached 2 fuel bottles, but any advice would be appreciated.

Took the KLR out for a little ride in VA. Ended up at Buc-ees. 😁. Ok, that was the plan all along. Knocked out over 200 miles on an absolutely beautiful day crossing two different gaps and enjoying the fall colors.

I wondered why my Klr sounded different from others, I found today when I drilled out the end of the muffler… the insides were in two pieces, the smaller blocking the inner

Been getting it set up slowly for a bit now, any thoughts on the bike or suggestion on some ( I get this might be hard to find) IR flodlights I can get on here ( I have nvgs and wanna do dumb shit at night )
Edit: because a lot of you have mentioned it, the weapon is a shotgun, it will probably change to something else anyway, the scabbard is mounted on a breakaway, if it does get caught on something hard enough it will break away.

I’m out of state and had my brother go and scoop this one up for me. 2007, 6500 miles, clean title for 700. Excited to get my hands on this!

2022 G model. After riding, kill switch off, ignition off.
Sound stops abruptly when I open the gas cap. Starts back after I close it.
Note that I've had warm starting issues and suspect the fuel pump (have an all balls rebuild kit that just arrived). And fuel pump sounds weak during ignition-on priming.
it’s not cause I was using two 20 amps for the fuse box on top the battery right? The blue and white connecting wire is just for the headlights and idk what other one for

What is the best way to do the wiring? I want to add a USB outlet as well as auxiliary lights. Currently made the wiring harness for thr usb using the mt090 connector but I see people using it for auxiliary lights.
Should I move the usb to the other connectors? Does it matter?
Relay is already installed.

TLDR: Occasional hiccup, possible metallic noise.
2008 KLR650
I'm looking for a some help. I'm new to motorcycles, and the KLR is my first bike. I've been riding all summer, and it's been doing great until now. Last week I was riding home from work, and the bike gave a lurch and then died. I pulled over, and it started back up, but a bit after taking off it gave another few hiccups, possibly accompanied by soft metallic clanks(it's hard to tell with the helmet on). Today I cleaned the air filter, changed the oil(it didn't look like it had any metal in it), and checked to make sure fuel flowed from the petcock. I started it up and rode out maybe 5 minutes, it did the same thing once, and then I rode it back. Any ideas on diagnosing the issue and what to try next?
EDIT: I also think that it may be running quieter and vibrating less than before.
