Misc JRT and Barking

Does your Jack bark a lot and what type of bark? (Yappy or Scary)

The picture: After asking if she wanted to go for a walk, she took out a sock out of the dirty clothes.

I included my sweet Sadie, what has passed away now. But I was talking to my neighbor whose dog rarely barks and it made me think of how Sadie was 6 months old before she finally learned. And she had a vicious bark. She scared off many delivery people! She sound like a Rottweiler when she barked.

I read Jack’s bark a lot…apparently we were lucky with her only barking when it was necessary

Tonight Richard will be having chicken and turkey breast slow cooked (on the bone) with a variety of mixed vegetables, carrots, broccoli, butternut squash, peas and red peppers steeped in beef bone broth. After 2.5hrs on a low heat covered with foil, we remove the bones, shred and mash the meat into the now disguised vegetables to form a delightful stew. This will then be mixed with some (senior dog) grain free kibble and served in a stainless steel bowl on the living room carpet. My husband and I will be having a frozen pizza from Aldi. We eat together because Richard will not eat until we’re all sat down together. After dinner, I shall find the one piece of kibble Richard deemed unworthy nowhere near his bowl.

On a more serious note. I have been making his food for 2 months now and did a fair amount of research beforehand. I’m also a biomedical scientist so have a decent understanding when it comes down to the chemistry involved with nutrition and biological processes. I used to buy Butternut box at £60 a pop. This lasted 6 weeks. Along with his kibble at £7 a month. I now spend £30 a month on both in total. HALF the cost! He never leaves food now and has perfect bowl movements. He still gets his natural treats like rabbit ears, bull bollocks, snoots and tripe sticks. Some cheese if we’re doing new scent work and the occasional raw egg. I add cod liver oil to the food when I mix it with the dry kibble. My other working dogs all have raw and can basically eat anything with no issues. Richard is a fussy, sensitive tummy, food allergy, one meal a day pain in the arse.

Ruthie loves cuddling in blankets next to me as I have coffee on cold mornings.

Anyone else have cuddlers?
