Is there a certain version of iTunes where I can add music to my iPod?

Basically any version of itunes that came out after your particular ipod came out will be able to sync with it. The choice of which version of itunes depends on which OS you run, and which features you need, and which versions you can tolerate. On windows you can run pretty much any of them. On mac it is limited by the OS.

Thanks. But I’m having issues with mine. I’m running I think it’s 12.9 right now on windows 11. But everytime I tried plugging in the iPod it wouldn’t come up.

If you dont have a music library that you constantly work on or listen to, and this is a one time deal, try using an earlier version. 10.7 was the last great version of itunes. Recent versions of macos have difficulties syncing with ipods, so its possible that those difficulties have worked their way into recent versions of itunes for windows. I think there are also two versions of itunes, one from apple and one from the microsoft store, and only the one from apple will sync with devices.

Uninstall it if you got it for the microsoft store. Get the 'Windows' version from the Apple legacy software archive.
