Suggestions Grindy App Recommendations!
Please help me. I am begging.
I grew up playing Clash of Clans but I lost my account and do not want to restart. I’ve tried Clash Royale and it’s just not for me.
I want a game I can play during work meetings and love the grind. If there is a clan/guild then that’s even better!
I do not mind games where I need to pay either.

Old School RuneScape is the ultimate grind, but also has a great (and big) community, quests, and it’s just an overall great game.
If you’re like me, the look may put you off for years. Give it a try anyway, because not only is it surprisingly charming, there’s a lot more under the surface.

I felt the exact same way for years. Everyone on here kept recommending it and I just.. bleh. Even though I like stylized graphics more than realistic ones.
But I tried it out on a whim and the game contents absolutely make up for the graphics. Obviously I do wish they were better (and they might be eventually, there’s an HD mode that the devs have been working on, but it’s been delayed over and over), but after a little while they honestly started to grow on me and i find them kind of nostalgic now.
It’s not a game for everyone by any means, it is a grind and there’s some things that are quite frustrating coming from modern games (a limited 28 slot inventory, run stamina that runs out so damn fast, no fast travel) but they’re also all improved by progressing in the game (you get all sorts of teleports, travel methods, pouches to carry stuff like logs, fish and ore, etc)
Def worth a try if you like grinding though. It does have world chat and clans btw

passive or active gaming?

what does that mean exactly?

active gaming is where you have to divert your focus while playing. you may be disturbed for a few moments for the majority of the playthrough, you have to physically and realistically be "in-game".
passive gaming is where you can put it down for longer periods while playing like autoplays/autobattlers, turn based. etc.

Only game that you need! Plus the community is amazing and very helpful!

Adding my vote to this game and my agreement re: the community too! Also a elaboration that the community refers to reddit and discord and not any guild/clan system within the game, just in case, since OP u/yeezusmafia mentioned it.

PostApoTycoon has been a lot of fun - start with one small outpost and expand outwards as you explore a post apocalyptic world.

Bloom and Dally is a really cool one I discovered recently. Solo developer, it's an idle game with the grind you may be looking for. Slowly discover new flower types, fill a garden, unlock skills that make things easier, spend resources as you collect them on themes, etc.
It's a paid app but no in app purchases so it's one and done

Casting a vote for NIKKE : Goddess of Victory. Very grindy, you can auto battle or micromanage your team, there is a surprising amount of story under all the boobs, and you have at least a year’s worth of grind to catch up in the story.
