Female fronted alternative rock band “Purple Negative” from Latvia releases a new single “Swimmer” along with an animated music video.

“Swimmer” is a melancholic alternative rock ballad that tells an emotional story of seeking comfort and healing in bodies of water in the aftermath of physical and emotional pain - heartbreak and sports injuries. Experimental, violin bowed guitar textures intertwine with acoustic guitar, creating a fresh, previously unheard of sound to Purple Negative’s musical identity.

Latest video from Starbroken. The song was based on the story of Bonnie and Clyde, two famous depression era outlaws. Note that the video uses a bit of AI to animate some of the photographs from the time. The music and lyrics are all original. Been tweaking this 2 AM rainy-day indie list for weeks. Looking for feedback on transitions. Trying to capture that post-sunset drive feel, would love song suggestions.

We shot this music video for Vincent Davies on 16mm Kodak film, with a dark, theatrical cabaret aesthetic. Would love to hear what you think!

NEW AMSTERDAM is a group of songs written years ago when I lived in New York. Life got in the way, and it took years to get a new band together and record. But we finally hit the studio in 2025, and the record is out in the open as of today!

IMO these guys are one of the strongest indie rock / post americana band of the 2010s but very few people seem to have heard of them, at least not enough people considering the quality and impactfulness of their music.

I discovered quiet hollers and frontman shadwick wilde a few years back and was shocked to recently find out how alarmingly small their fan base is.

ive come to the conclusion that it must be because people simply havent been exposed to them. so im declaring october quiet hollers awareness month and spreading the word. ill let the music speak for itself instead of going on about it. give them a listen if you havent already!!!

track starter pack:

• Aviator Shades
• Broken Guitar
• Their Dark Robes
• Mont Blanc

Late night smoky guitar rock.

Its a long shot but its driving me mad - they were from the 1990's / 2000's - They weren't commercially successful but Their most popular song had the Chorus ... You're not the only one, staring at the song' or possibly I'm not the only one staring at the sun - they were signed ... possibly from Oxford (Or wales) - there was a video of them playing this song acoustically at a festival in Japan (probably fuji rocks) on youtube - It was a 4 piece of 5 piece - male and female vocalist - its driving me mad !!

***the band was Fields - thanks alternapop **\*
