This is the analytics application i built based on Rust+Tauri. After 5 months it feels decent enough to share. Here's a full session replayed at 50x

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

• Upvotes

This is a Windows-based application for NSE F&O analytics, covering all ~220 F&O underlyings. What's in it so far:

- Options: option chain with greeks, PCR analytics, max pain, volatility, straddle & strangle premium charts, and a Strategy Builder with payoff

- Open interest: OI Change, 3-Strike Range (ATM±1 change in OI, re-anchored to spot), OI Flow, Trending OI, a strike-by-strike ledger and OI walls

- Futures: futures board, basis & rollover, OI build-up across the universe (long/short build-up, covering, unwinding), OI vs time

- Market: screener, market overview heatmap with breadth, VIX vs index, FII/DII, and an end-of-day OI scan

- Charts: four panes (spot, future, CE, PE) with indicators; paper-trade or set an alert right from the chart

- Alerts: a no-code builder over price, OI, PCR, IV, build-up and indicators, on your watchlist or all of F&O, with a backtest over past days

- Paper trading: positions and P&L tracked on live prices

- Replay: after the close you can play the day back at 50x with everything above working inside it

The video is the 21 Oct session in Replay:

- Dashboard and watchlist from the open

- BANKNIFTY's Symbol page tabs, then RELIANCE from search

- Charts in four panes, a paper BUY on the 55800 PE and an alert set from the chart

- The alert builder and the alerts feed

- Strategy Builder: buy the 55500 PE, sell the 55000 PE, detected as a Bear Put Spread, sent to paper trading

- Seek forward to 1:44 PM: the PE is up ₹15k, I close it, and the spread is up ₹4k

Analytics only: it doesn't place orders and nothing in it is advice. The engine is Rust and the app is Tauri. The app uses multiple broker APIs.

It's still in beta, so if any manual F&O traders want to review it, DM me.

DAY 9,10 of buying a Automatic Car for my dad with earnings from option selling. ❤️

Monday & Tuesday update

I was busy with family functions, so I couldn’t post my updates on time. Here’s the update for the last two trading days.

Gross P&L: 40,000
**Trading capital:**10 lakh
Additional profit target: 3 lakh
Maximum capital used over these two days: 10 lakh

I also replied to around 150 DMs for free. It’s difficult to explain everything properly over text, and I still have 83 DMs pending. This has made me realise I should create a more structured learning format, covering the process, setups, risk management and practical lessons in a clearer way.

Frustrated!!! TBH

• Upvotes

I don't even know where to start, I'll just pour my rant here 😮‍💨

Well I was working on finding a profitable strategy more than 4-5 months for options buying on index but honestly testing more than 70+ strategies, nothing gives a profit factor and winrate to even achieve breakeven. Why it was frustrating, I used Claude Pro plan to define strategies finding logics applying them, fine tuning parameters but it's just burning tokens away without any results. 3months of spending more than 7.5k on AI costs+Broker API charges and destroying mental and physical health i don't even know whether it'll be possible at this point to see anything.

The one's who's already having something definitely won't tell you why would they?

Everyone will come and say that's why options selling is better but the real issue was for options selling you need more capital if I have that why would I need to do this, I should put them in safer arbitrage funds for short term, Bees or even do swing trading.

Just putting my trust on dumb luck if there is anyone who's willing to work with me or having a algo that available for testing or public ones I'm more happy to contribute.

Pls don't ask to me do everything by myself by only providing strategies found on random YouTube or somewhere else. I can contribute but not do everything without any help from other side!

How is everyone finding a strategy that actually makes money?

I have been on it for roughly 3 months now, every spent 100s in AI costs, can't find a single strategy in options buying that actually is profitable.

I mean, not even 1 where PF > 1.25 and win rate > 40%.

Please give me some pointers!

I'm Saving ₹30,000 Before I Start Trading. Here's Why. 📈

Post image
30 Upvotes

Most beginners enter the market dreaming of profits, but many end up losing money because they start without a plan.

I'm taking a different approach.

For the next 6 months, I'm saving ₹5,000 every month while learning Gold and Bitcoin trading.

My goal isn't to get rich overnight. It's to build a strategy, understand risk, and develop discipline before risking real money.

I'll document the journey honestly—every lesson, mistake, and milestone.

Day 1/180. Saving first. Learning second. Trading later.

What's one thing you wish you knew before your first trade?

Overall gist is when u run non correlated strategies across segments and instruments with sound logic. It reduces the dd and smooth equity curve as each of the system performs in its own cycle and together you have portfolio designed for majority of the simulations and cycles

Launching our private beta for Algorova

Hello everyone,

We are launching our private beta for Algorova and we will accept testers in batches.

Top features-

AI startegy maker- Plain english strategy maker, currently limited to options. Say in absolute basic terms like I have this much money and low risk apetite and it will start from there and build you the entire strategy as well as the fields.

Multi AI backtest- Same plain english, you can try saying something like try different stop loss and profit target andthe AI will create 5-10(limited to this now) combinations of the same strategy. Our backtesting engine will run all of them and show u results side by side.

Audit AI(very early version)- Shows why each trade was taken, will probably evolve into something different over time.

How to join: Go to algorova.com and click early beta private access and fill your name, email and what broker. Thats it.

Fouder cred- Managed 10cr for a firm, worked in micro VC, Nism 8. Going for nism 15 and then Sebi RA.

Introducing OptScalp: A Desktop Options Trading Platform with Quick Order, Option Chain & Chart Trading

Hi everyone,

I'm the developer behind OptScalp (https://optscalp.com), a desktop options trading platform I've been building for Indian traders.

I've recently released a major upgrade with a completely redesigned interface, improved market-data experience, and three different ways to trade options.

Sharing it here for anyone who might find it useful. Mods, please feel free to remove this if it violates the community's self-promotion rules.

The problem

If you actively trade NIFTY, BANKNIFTY or SENSEX options, you'll probably relate to some of these challenges:

  • Switching between charts, option chains and order-entry windows.
  • Placing or adjusting multiple option legs quickly.
  • Managing stop-losses, targets and open positions across trades.
  • Monitoring positions and overall MTM while making trading decisions.
  • Working around limitations of broker-provided trading interfaces.

I wanted a desktop application that brings these workflows together without forcing traders into one particular way of trading.

What OptScalp does

OptScalp is a desktop-based trading platform that connects to supported brokers and provides three different trading interfaces.

1. Quick Order

A dedicated order-entry workspace for traders who prefer fast, straightforward execution.

  • Trade CE/PE options using ATM, ITM and OTM strike selection.
  • Configure quantities, order types and automatic stop-loss controls.
  • Create straddles, strangles and hedge positions.
  • Monitor and manage positions from the same workspace.

2. Option Chain Trading (Scalper)

For traders who prefer making decisions directly from the option chain.

  • View option prices, open interest (OI) and implied volatility (IV).
  • Switch between indices and expiries.
  • Place Buy/Sell orders directly against individual strikes.
  • Quickly navigate strikes around ATM.

3. Chart Trading

This is one of the major additions in the latest release.

  • View option price charts within OptScalp.
  • Work with multiple charts in the same workspace.
  • Place trades directly from chart controls.
  • Manage stop-loss and target levels visually.

The idea is simple: choose how you want to trade without switching between multiple applications.

Position & Risk Management

Beyond order entry, OptScalp includes:

  • Stop-loss, target and trailing stop-loss controls.
  • Position monitoring with MTM/P&L.
  • Partial exits and position management.
  • Portfolio/session-level risk controls.
  • Support for multi-leg option positions.

These are execution and risk-management tools, not trading signals or automated profit-generating strategies.

Broker Integrations

OptScalp supports integrations with brokers and APIs including:

Zerodha, Flattrade, Shoonya (Finvasia), RMoney, AC Agarwal and XTS-based APIs.

Supported features may vary depending on the broker and its API capabilities.

Try It Without Placing Live Orders

OptScalp also includes a Simulation Mode, allowing users to explore the trading interface and experiment with order workflows without sending live orders.

This is particularly useful if you want to understand the application before using it with real capital.

Pricing & Availability

OptScalp is available through its official website, where you can find the current plans, installation instructions and product details.

Website: https://optscalp.com/

Please review the applicable subscription terms before purchasing. Paid subscriptions are non-refundable.

Looking for Feedback

I'm continuing to improve OptScalp, particularly around chart trading, option-chain workflows, execution efficiency and position management.

I'd genuinely appreciate feedback from active options traders.

If you could improve one thing about your current broker terminal or options trading workflow, what would it be?

Happy to answer questions about the platform, broker integrations or supported features.

Disclosure: I'm the developer of OptScalp. OptScalp is a software platform for trade execution and management, not an investment advisory or trading-signal service. Trading in derivatives involves substantial financial risk. Users are responsible for their own trading decisions and compliance with applicable broker and exchange requirements.

Title: RN TradeLab v0.25 – a Scanner, a Probability Lab, and a smarter Optimizer (free desktop backtesting app)

Hi all, v0.25 of RN TradeLab is out. It's a free desktop app for building, backtesting and stress-testing trading strategies on your own data (NSE, US stocks, crypto via Upstox, Fyers or Alpaca).

What's new:

**Scanner (free)**

Find the stocks that pass all your conditions, e.g. "price 20–100, market cap above 100M, close above the 50-day SMA, 15-min RSI below 70".

- Price, volume, technical (MA, RSI, MACD, ATR, or any indicator in your library) and fundamental conditions (market cap, P/E, EPS, dividend yield, ROE, debt/equity, holdings, sector)

- Each condition runs on its own timeframe, built from your downloaded data

- The results show the value each condition saw, not just pass/fail

- Save the result as a dataset, then backtest it, optimize on it, or set alerts on the whole list

**Probability Lab (Gold)**

Honest odds from each stock's own history:

- Market Twins: the past moments that looked most like now, and what happened next

- Target vs Stop: the odds of hitting your target before your stop

- Candlestick Edge: each pattern's hit rate vs the stock's normal rate, corrected for testing many patterns at once

Every % shows its sample size and a 95% range. On my RELIANCE 15-min test, 0 of 7 popular candlestick patterns beat normal behaviour beyond chance. Worth knowing before you trade them.

**Optimizer**

- Tick exactly which inputs to sweep; the rest stay fixed

- Much faster when you test a few combinations across many stocks

**Also**

- Cleaner chart legends (hover to see the settings)

- A colour for each indicator line

- Stock backtests now include your $ commission and slippage (they were being skipped, so results were too rosy)

Download (Windows): rnalgotrading.com

Release notes: rnalgotrading.com/releases.html

It's a research and education tool: it doesn't place orders and isn't advice. Feedback and feature requests are very welcome. What would you scan for first?

Jio’s signal is garbage and the reviews are bad, yet it gets a 10 lakh crore valuation and a 22 times subscribed IPO. How does this make sense?

Someone explain this to me. My Jio signal is call drops and patchy data, and loads of people online complain about the same thing. A company with service this bad should not be getting these kind of numbers.

So where is the gap? Is the valuation only about size and dominance and nothing to do with actual service? Are people complaining but still not leaving?

How is a company people complain about this much still this unstoppable?

Please stop posting daily P&L challenges

Lately the sub has been flooded with posts like "Day X of trading for my dishwasher", "Day Y of my car challenge". I get the appeal. It's fun, it's motivating, and it feels like accountability. But I think these posts are quietly doing more harm than good, especially to the beginners who make up a big part of this sub.

1. Markets don't care about your goal

A challenge frames trading as a fixed daily target: make X per day, reach Y by Z date. Markets don't work that way. Some days have no edge at all. Some weeks your strategy is supposed to lose money. A system with a real edge can still go through a month-long drawdown purely from variance. When you tie your trading to a purchase deadline, you start forcing trades on days the market isn't giving you anything, specially the beginners.

2. Daily P&L is mostly noise

On a daily timeframe, luck and skill look exactly the same. A string of 15 green days can come from a strategy that's secretly selling tail risk (naked options, averaging down, no hard SL), and it looks brilliant right up until the one day it blows up. Single-day screenshots tell us nothing about expectancy, max drawdown, or risk per trade, which are the only numbers that matter. And to know whether those numbers are real, you need to run a system unchanged for months, ideally a year, not judge it day by day.

3. It hurts beginners' psychology

This is the part that worries me most. A new trader sees ten people "winning daily" and concludes:

  • consistent daily profit is normal and expected
  • if they had a red day, they're doing something wrong
  • they need bigger size or more trades to "catch up"

That's the exact mindset behind overtrading, revenge trading, and blowing up accounts. We shouldn't be making that worse by setting unrealistic expectations.

What I'd love to see instead

I'm not saying "never share results." I'm saying share results in a way people can learn from:

  • Longer timeframes: monthly or quarterly equity curves instead of daily screenshots.
  • The full picture: win rate, average win vs average loss, max drawdown, number of trades, capital deployed, and charges/slippage included.
  • Backtest vs live comparisons: how your live results differed from your backtest, and why. This is incredibly useful content.
  • Strategy logic (even at a high level): what the system does, what market conditions it likes, and when it fails.
  • Losses and failures: a post-mortem of a strategy that broke is worth more than a hundred green screenshots.
  • Code, tools, and infra: broker API quirks, order execution issues, data sources, risk management modules.
  • Risk management first: how you size positions, where your hard stops are, and what your kill switch is.

A suggestion for the mods (if they're open to it): a dedicated P&L flair for monthly, quarterly or yearly results, so people who enjoy sharing their numbers still can, while the main feed stays focused on strategies, research, and learning. Posts under that flair could be expected to include the details listed above.

To everyone running a challenge right now: no hate, and I genuinely hope you get your car or your dishwasher. Just please don't let a purchase deadline decide how much risk you take, and think about the beginner reading your post who might try to copy your results without your context.

Trade the system, not the target. Good luck.
