discussion I got this helmet from Strauss

I wanted a cycling helmet since I never used one before and with the amount of traffic i counter makes me worried about my own head. I got the basic Strauss ELITE helmet during the amazon's GIF Sale. https://www.amazon.in/gp/aw/d/B0C53W4S5R?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

Its non certified, would it do the job? Or should i return it. It fits, my ride everyday is short but can do 20km on weekend on mtb.

I went to decathlon but theirs were out of stock with no immediate update on restocking. Ive just 2 more days to decide before return window loses. Any help is much appreciated!

Worst air in mornings in the city, but a man's gotta ride. At this point unsure if cycling outside in this high Aqi is giving me any health benefits , other than mental peace.

discussion Riverside L size handlebar can be upgraded to a swept back one ?

Have bought a L size Riverside 120. The elbows hurt when riding.

Realising that it is due to over extension.

Can it be upgraded to a swept back handle bar ?

Will adjusting the seat forward help ? I drive on rough roads and the seat has to be fixed firmly.

Thanks in advance.

mechanical support What's this creaking sound?

Please listen to the audio in the YT Video.

I bought my Riverside 120 almost a month ago. I've only ridden it for 6 days on random, and have been noticing this creaking sound from the front since day 3. I checked the wheels and they don't seem to hit brake pads or anything. It's very noticeable when riding slowly. I'm worried about it. Does anyone know what this is and what I should do? I still have the exchange/return window.

If someone else also faced the same issue please let me know if you found the issue or what to do now.

So this was my first send (https://www.reddit.com/r/Hardtailgang/s/sDtrZinxzE) that I have posted. Since then, I have practiced (although not diligently, I admit) and have gotten myself a proper MTB (https://www.reddit.com/r/Hardtailgang/s/udEW2IBiE2), and this is my first attempt at anything technical with it.

I request all to please review the footage and offer advice/guidance. All responses are greatly appreciated 🫶🏻

Still improving it, but this makes the whole project worth it

Looking for a cycle to keep me fit
Basically am a doctor preparing for entrance exam so my life will be sedentary for the next 1yr
Planned to hit gym thrice a week and try cycling as a hobby
My friend has decathlon vouchers which he is willing to give me at 75% so the net price of this cycle becomes 9k is this a good price to buy this cycle or can I find a better bike than this!
Right before someone suggests riverside 120 I don’t like the frame so that option is down
My budget was 7k stretched to 9k now
Thanks in adavnce 🫡🫂

suggest me a bike Montra Celtic 2.0 vs Van Rysel RC120 vs Van Rysel EDR AF Claris 2x8

I have a budget of ₹65,000. I would be travelling twice a week for more than 20 kilometres. Can you suggest to me which is the best out of the three of them, especially when it comes to durability, after sales services and availability of spare parts and further upgrades in the future?

I have no rash or aggressive usage but these are three I have come across. If you have any other better alternatives within the same price range, do let me know.

Thanks!

mechanical support Headset broke 3rd time in 3 weeks

Hey guys, a few months ago I replaced my 90mm zoom stem with a budget 40mm one.

Since then my compression ring has broken thrice now in just 3 weeks. I have a neco headset and it has broken twice in the last 2 weeks.

Btw all the installation was done by a bike shop.

Even they can't figure out what's wrong. There is always some play no matter how much you tighten it.

You can see the stem setup and steerer-stem gap. When the 1st ring broke the stem was almost flush with steerer.

Then they added a 5mm spacer and still 2 rings have broken.

Please suggest me what could be wrong. Also is there any replacement ring I can buy? I found this on Cycling boutique I called, mailed and WhatsApp them but no response.

discussion Those annoying calf cramps after a long ride - what helps?

Been getting these annoying calf cramps lately sometimes after a long day and sometimes randomly at night. I usually just stretch my leg and wait for it to settle, but it's honestly frustrating when it happens.

I came across a muscle relief product from a wellness r3set a while back and decided to give it a try. I have kept it around for days when my muscles feel tight after being active. Anyone else deal with this, especially after cycling? What do you usually do when your calves start cramping? Have you found anything that helps?

mechanical support Compatibility

Hi guys my friend is selling me SLX m7000 shifter and RD 11spd for only 35$ and its too good of a price to pass up.and my own shifter and RD kinda cooked now it's always getting out of tune on rocky roads,it's giving me so much hassle. But my cassette and chain is only 10spd and it's new. I don't have a budget right now to buy a new one again. So i wanna know if it'll work with 11 spd rd and shifter on my 10spd cassette and chain. Thanks guys!

Hi everyone, my cycle tire got scratched against a stone/curb. The upper black rubber is gone and the inner white threads are showing.

It is holding air right now. Is it safe to ride like this or do I need to buy a new tire?
