Hello everyone, I am a guy from Eastern Black Sea Region of Turkey. As far as I know I belong to the Karamanids. So as an Oghuz Turk my ancestors migrated to the Anatolia around thousand years ago (first Central Anatolia and 500 years ago to the Eastern Black Sea Region). And here is my autosomals. Btw my Y-DNA is C-Y266167 (C-M217).

I have yet to notice or receive an illustrative DNA update. Does anybody know how often they update and if there is any information on an upcoming update?

My unsupervised analysis results and periodical break down results are quite confusing as im pretty sure I have no eastern european/ russian/ turkic ancestry but i am getting portions of those kinds of populations in my results. I have a native Canadian ancestor quite a few generations back- could these populations be showing up as a result of this, or is there something more?

All SNPs used (yes)
AADR 1240k v62.0 used
Tried doing multiple runs with different sources to get a general idea of how my references used are (ik my SE values are slightly higher than the golden standard still working on it)

Y-DNA haplogroup is J-CTS7683, but I don't know much about my father's ethnic background. My maternal grandfather is Kurdish, and my maternal grandmother is of Turkish and Armenian ancestry.
My ancestry calculator is set to the Caucasus region.
Can anyone help me understand these results and give me some insight into my paternal ancestry?

I’ve noticed that some Eastern European Jews can look phenotypically similar to North Caucasian ethnic groups such as North Ossetians, Dagestanis, and Chechens. Is this because they are both genetically intermediate between West Asia and Europe, or do they share immediate ancestry from Eastern Europe that could explain their physical similarities?
The book The Maternal Genetic Lineages of Ashkenazic Jews by Kevin Brook suggests that Litvaks (Jews from Lithuania & Belarus) could derive 4.2% of their genetic ancestry from medieval Alan converts to Judaism, based on Vahaduo G25 modeling. Yet, such a small % of shared ancestry doesn’t seem like enough to explain physical similarities between the two groups. I could be wrong on that though, and would appreciate any honest insight.

Before we begin ADNTRO have previously displayed highly inaccurate results concerning Neanderthal/Denisovan DNA, which i have posted about here before.
Recently i got this email in my main inbox (see photo), saying i carry the gene variant for APOE4, which is associated with a (significantly) higher risk of Alzheimer's disease as well as other neurological conditions. I was a bit dumbfounded at first because i for a fact know i am homozygotic APOE2 (the protective variant), which is very rare. I even went as far as to check my raw genotyping data with the help of [this article](https://www.geneticlifehacks.com/alzheimers-and-apoe-type/). Like i previously knew i am homozygotic APOE2.
Now the question is if this is just simply ADNTRO being inaccurate, or if it is a straight up scam since the link in the email sent me directly to a paywall. This is of course very serious and illegal for them to do. I am curious to see if anyone that has uploaded their DNA to ADNTRO have got the same or a similar email?

Why does it say 40-50% usually continental celt in Spanish models. In Spain didn't the Celtic DNA come even earlier and it's closer to the British/Bell Beaker type DNA? Can someone explain this difference.

Hello, I was wondering if anyone familiar with interpreting South Asian illustrative dna results could help me? I’m mostly Indian but I am a bit mixed on my mother’s side.
I have done 23andMe and ancestry.com tests. This is based on my ancestry.com results. Not sure which test is more reliable for Illustrative DNA. I was also curious about what regions you’d assume I was from based on this.
Also, I really don’t understand why it’s showing north and South American hunter gatherer because based on what I know about my ancestry that seems impossible lol. The other trace percentages can maybe be explained by my 23andMe / ancestry results.
Edit: just adding cuz I feel like this might seem like a trick question without more detail lol. My family is mixed so I don’t actually belong fully to any one community. I have Sindhi/ Punjabi, Rajasthani Jain, Kerala Christian and Anglo Indian ancestry. On my Anglo Indian side I have about 12.5% British isles ancestry. I have maybe like 5% east/ south east Asian ancestry but not sure if that’s Nepal, northeast India or something else. But it’s useful to see what people assume based on this since I really don’t know how illustrative dna works!
Edit: saw my ancestry.com update and it’s mostly vaguely north West Indian with some specific Punjab/ sindh/ Kashmir too so I guess it’s all kind of accurate lol.

The Saka of Kyrgyzstan were Iron Age nomadic pastoralists who lived in the Tian Shan, Alai and Fergana mountain valleys and around Issyk-Kul from roughly the 8th to the 3rd century BCE. They belonged to the wider Saka world of eastern Iranian-speaking horse peoples, closely related to the Scythians of the western steppe.
They were mounted herders who moved seasonally between high summer pastures (jailoo) and lower winter grounds. They raised horses, sheep and cattle, and used composite bows and bronze or iron weapons. Some groups kept small-scale farming or lived semi-settled in the valleys.
They buried their dead under stone-and-earth mounds called kurgans, often in chains of tombs along valleys. Rich burials held horse gear, weapons, bronze cauldrons and gold ornaments.Their art is the “animal style”, with stylised deer, felines and birds. It appears on metalwork and on rock carvings such as the petroglyphs at Saimaluu-Tash.Burial customs and artefacts show strong links with the Saka of Kazakhstan, such as the Issyk “Golden Man” burial, and with the Pazyryk culture of the Altai.
