I believe you're just missing a component. Perhaps the head shipped in a different package?

There is a head (the nose is pointing up), but it might be installed incorrectly.

My apologies, I see it now There's a reset button mid-belly It might be hard to find. You may have to rub several times but I'm sure once you activate it the cat will achieve its final form. No, really Rub that belly 😈

Ok, so it would appear you may have gotten some part in the wrong place. It's to be expected if the instructions are vague. Try some churu...it works almost every time..
