Setup This layout no longer works thanks to liquid glass. Is there an alternative?
Hi guys! I loved my pre liquid glass iOS theme that transformed my then iPhone 14 Pro Max into a classic Windows layout. When liquid glass got introduced I, unfortunately, had to say goodbye to this because it got these subtle futuristic-ish highlights around the shortcut icons.
I'd like to create something like this again with a different theme, but I either want to learn how to work with those borders or find out if there's a way to make it this simplistic again. I had a look around to see if someone else had the same question and also looked up some tutorials, but none of them seemed to mention this specific detail. Hopefully you guys have an idea?

I've seen some use a white wallpaper on iOS 26 to hide the glass borders, I'm not sure if this would still work on iOS 27 because the glass changed quite a bit. Otherwise, I think I've seen golden nugget have a way to remove the glass borders on icons and a couple of other UI elements if you want to go to that extent.

You could make the areas directly underneath the dock and the circular icon areas on the lockscreen to be a darker shade of the same gray, so that when the dock and icon bubbles are overlaid on top of that dark area of the wallpaper, it actually looks like it’s the same shade of gray. Now there is a possibility that there is a drop shadow or something, and that could still sort of ruin the effect. I haven’t tried it.

Oh man, this is fantastic. Good for you and I’m so sorry it ended.
I was also a big fan of the transparent icon setup when I could have it. I just kind of adapted 🤷🏻♀️
I’m building a 1977 style Star Wars console as we speak. Of course the glass edges brings it down, but I still want it so I accept it.
