I feel like there’s so much potential for a game. What are your thoughts?

I promise I’m not a hater. I’m a Hunger Games stan and rewatch these movies every single month. I’m very hyped for this new addition. However, when reading Sunrise on the Reaping, I never visualized this world having themes from the 70s/80s. Seeing all these colorful trailers, where the poorest people have flashy outfits, Afros and hoop earrings has me very confused I cannot lie. We know the districts are extremely poor. During the 10th hungers games everyone was dirty with ripped clothes and not a bright color in sight aside from Lucy Gray. During the 74th/75th games we get to see the same when we take a look at the other districts during different scenes such as the victory tour. I guess I never pictured the Hunger Games going through similar eras as modern America. It almost feels too campy. The districts were never supposed to be campier than the capital. I do, however, think it’s refreshing and I’m excited to see color come back into film and media, but like it’s not clicking for me for THIS movie just yet. So, without eating me up, could someone please help me understand? I already have my movie tickets and am very excited, but I’d prefer to watch the movie without raising an eyebrow everytime I see someone with bell bottoms. Lol 🫶🏽🏹

Has anyone in the UK managed to get tickets yet?? No tickets show as available on the 3 major cinemas

😭😭😭 I just want tickets!

I've got to stock up on tissues!!!!

Spotted it and it immediately reminded me of Lucy Gray. The top looks more pink/purple irl, now I just need to find a corset to go with it.

Planning my ticket buy. They list 3 screenings for SOTR at AMCs: regular (imax/3D/normal) sensory friendly and this one. This listing is only available at a few theaters near me, not all the AMCs. Any guesses?

I randomly thought of the chance of if lou lou even won the games what would happen to her? Would she be sent to Louellas family or killed in secret or something?

Ok as we know the 3rd quarter quell, snow introduced the “existing victors rule” as a personal vendetta towards Katniss, to show all victors they could not revolt like her, and in an attempt to crush any hope in Panem.
So this makes me wonder if there was anything happening leading up to the second quarter quell that SC didn’t write into SOTR (or that I missed hehe) that made Snow want to enforce the super brutal “double the tributes” rule.
Like if there was a similar increase in rebels etc.
was just thinking about it :)

So throughout the franchise, we have numerous mutts at the capital and game makers have created as fans. What do we think is the worst one?

Jabberjays: Genetically engineered male birds created to spy on the districts by memorizing and repeating human conversations.

Mockingjays: Unintended hybrids created when jabberjays mated with female mockingbirds; they became a symbol of the rebellion.

Tracker Jackers: Genetically engineered, aggressive wasps with gold bodies that cause severe swelling and painful, hallucination-inducing venom.

Wolf Mutts (74th Hunger Games): Large canine-human hybrids designed with physical traits and eyes resembling the fallen tributes (in the books) or giant mutant dogs (in the films).

Monkey Mutts (75th Hunger Games / Clock Arena): Mandrill-like, aggressive baboons with sharp switchblade-like claws and bites that cause internal bleeding.

Lizard Mutts (Mockingjay): Pale, human-sized human-reptile hybrids with sharp claws, decapitating jaws, and the ability to track people by scent and mimic human voices (releasing a rose scent).

Snake Mutts: Scent-tracking, venomous snakes engineered by Dr. Gaul (seen in the 10th Hunger Games).

Very curious to hear your ideas for her !
