This is in Australia hoping and praying that it’s coming to the Uk

I’m debating between Dolby Cinema and IMAX for the upcoming Hunger Games movie. I’m leaning toward Dolby because the movie looks like it’ll be really colorful, but I’m also tempted by IMAX because of the aspect ratio changes.

I want to experience the expanded aspect ratio that everyone’s been talking about since *Catching Fire*, but I’m wondering if it’s worth sacrificing Dolby’s colors, contrast, and sound.

SOTR spoilers

in the trilogy, after katniss shoots apple near game makers and haymitch cheers and the monologue where he says " they've already taken out on them , have a drink"

why would he recommend something like that after him acting the same rascal way got his family killed?

ofc there is a big distinction in shooting an apple and him trying to blow up the arena , but my point is that he understand how crazy snow is, why would you want them to risk it as well? especially considering katniss mom and dad were his friends prior to the stones

I'm partway through SOTR but have noticed a trend throughout the book in which multiple LLM tropes are thrown out in quick succession. This comes between prose much more in-keeping with Collins' typical voice.

As I say, this is something I've noticed throughout, but this section was particularly egregious:

Transparent wings tinted every color of the rainbow flash above me. They catch the firelight, making them shine like the hard candy in the Donners' shop window on a sunny day. It’d be something to admire, except each three-foot-wide pair of wings carries a vicious face and two back feet sporting four-inch curved claws. Genetically engineered bat muttations. Designed to shred me to slaw.
These creatures haven't broken out of a cage; they're a gift from the Capitol.
One hundred thirty-six, one hundred thirty-seven —
"Haymitch!" I hear Ampert cry out. "Catch!"
He releases the torch, which scatters the bat formation for a second, and I somehow manage to grab it. With my free hand, I begin to scale the ladder, waving the fire above my head. But these are no butterflies, simple to ignite and destroy; they are sinewy mammals that can turn on a dime. They evade my torch and begin to claw me, taking painful swipes at my shoulders and back, causing blood to flow. Climb I must, though, because the clock’s ticking and if I’m not above ground, I’ll be drowned for sure.

Genuinely, if this wasn't generated by a LLM, I don't know how it passed so many levels of revisions from Collins and her editors. It is only made more apparent by Collins' natural prose, which I can see clearly in neighbouring paragraphs.

I'm not sure if anyone else noticed this when reading. I understand that LLMs are scraped from popular books and it only makes sense that this kind of passage sounds like gen-AI if models were trained on the original trilogy, but it is disconcerting to read.

Just keep trying, I was at it for a full 50 min 😭 but at least got tix

I got mine for the 18th 🥳🥳🥳

Like the book says only female can volunteer for female and male can volunteer for male, but if Peeta just got himself transitioned and become physically female, won't that make him capable of volunteering for Katniss in the third quarter quell and hence make him achieve his goal of protecting Katniss?

*This post isn't meant to be offending anyone, it's just for discussion about this random idea so feel free to tell me if my language makes you feel offended and i will change it if i see the comment

*sorry for anything that you might feel offended about i swear they really dont mean anything and are unintentional orz

😭😭😭 I just want tickets!

I've got to stock up on tissues!!!!

Spotted it and it immediately reminded me of Lucy Gray. The top looks more pink/purple irl, now I just need to find a corset to go with it.

Did those of you who liked the books make it through SBNS before you saw the movie in theaters? I didn’t even know Suzanne had released two more books. I however haven’t been able to finish listed book because the movie ruined the book some how. I keep trying to start Sunrise on the reaping but I have the issue where the first three or four chapters are just super boring for me. Speaking of the films: I took my friends from years ago to part of Mocking Jay (can’t remember if it was part 1 or 2. It was around my birthday in 2014-15 (March birthday). They said the movie was better than the book. It broke me both times to the point where I cried. They needed up saying the movie we were better like they read the book

Has anyone in the UK managed to get tickets yet?? No tickets show as available on the 3 major cinemas

If u didn't get allocated a ticket is there anyway u can see the cast from far away? Or is the mall closed of today?
