I built a live wallpaper that plays the old HTC Weather sky videos (sunny, rain, thunder, snow, fog, etc.) on your home screen. Weather is Open-Meteo on the phone, no AccuWeather, no HTC Weather app, no flip-clock widget required

Install: Download → install → Wallpapers → Live wallpapers → HTC Weather Sky → gear / Weather Sky location for GPS or manual city (search → tap a city in the list).

Includes: day/night clips from forecast, city picker, full-screen video with center-crop fix for tall phones, targetSdk 36. Debug-signed sideload, not Play Store.

Hey everyone! I’m trying to find the original MaximusHD ROM for the international HTC One X (endeavoru), preferably version 21.1.0 or another release based on Android 4.2.2 with Sense 5.
Unfortunately, all the Android File Host links I’ve found are dead, and the mirrors don’t seem to work anymore.

Does anyone still have the original ROM ZIP archived, or know of a working mirror? If possible, I’d appreciate the original file and its checksum so I can verify it.

Updated: Update, v1.2.7: Real HTC flip-down animation, taken from the original Sense 3 clock. The flap folds onto the hinge, then the bottom half drops in, with HTC's timing. The unlock flip is back. When you unlock, the hour flips once and the minute flips twice to land on the current time. You can turn it off under Clock in the widget settings. Fixed the clock falling minutes behind while you're using other apps. Install it over the previous version; your widgets and settings stay. update 3: v1.2.6 is out. fixed the widget showing the wrong icon around sunrise/sunset, like a sun with "sunny" before dawn while tapping it played the moon. htc's code couldn't read the sunrise times i was giving it so it just assumed day is 6am-6pm. if you had night stuff during the day or the other way around this should fix it https://github.com/BuksaPC/htc-honor-weather-flip-clock/releases/tag/v1.2.6-breezy

update 2: v1.2.5 is out. fixes the night animations showing during the day (sunrise/sunset was off by your timezone, in india it went to night around noon) and the sunny animation while it's raining with some breezy sources. on pixel/nova/lawnchair the animation also plays right over the widget now instead of at the top of the screen https://github.com/BuksaPC/htc-honor-weather-flip-clock/releases/tag/v1.2.5-breezy

I've been working on bringing back the old HTC Sense 3 weather animations to FlipClock. Always loved those animations on the old HTC phones, especially the rain with the windshield wiper.

There are two versions available:

- Regular version – works as a standalone flip clock with weather animations.

- Honor version – integrates with Honor Weather to get live weather data and display the animations based on current conditions.

I've also added support for high refresh rate displays (60/90/120 Hz) and the original weather animation sounds.

Big thanks to u/neta4457 for the original FlipClock! I just wanted to add some of that old HTC Sense magic back.

Recently dug my old HTC One M8 out for fun to play around with. After getting apps and Google play services updated it started to boot loop. it would get as far as the lock screen before restarting. I’ve tried a hard reset, factory reset, and booting to safe mode but the issue persists. The strange thing is I did manage to break the bootloop, at which point it stayed booted and worked for over a day, even under task load (YouTube video playing while browsing internet). I didn‘t do anything besides plug it in and I can‘t replicate the result. Any ideas on this? I’ve seen other forum posts suggest it’s a power issue and maybe a bad battery but the battery seems to be holding a charge fine. Thanks!

I d love to buy a new HTC since I cant find them in Europe .

Live wallpaper inspired by HTC Sense Bokeh (Mode10). Rewritten in Java/OpenGL for 64-bit phones where the original 32-bit native wallpaper cannot run.

What v1.2.5 adds (still one APK, Open-Meteo only — no Breezy, no extra weather app):

Stronger first GPS fix for auto-detect (fused/network, then a one-shot GPS when needed — not always-on tracking)

Sync right after you grant location permission

Uses saved coordinates when a live fix is slow so weather can still load

After installing: App info → confirm v1.2.5 → Location on (Precise if offered) → system Location on → remove & re-add the 4×2 widget if it was stuck.

Not in this build: full-screen Sense 3 tap weather animations (some forks add those separately). This release is flip clock + Open-Meteo strip + auto-detect fixes.

Install over earlier debug-signed builds from this repo; uninstall first only if Android reports a signature conflict.

Issues: comment with phone model, Android version, and exact APK filename from App info.

These two were fierce rivals back in 2012, each with its own distinct beauty. It’s hard to say which one was truly better. Looking back nearly 15 years later, it’s striking just how much emotion these phones from that era evoked—back when we affectionately referred to them as our "beloved little gadgets." Today, however, every device just goes by the generic name "smartphone."

I bought it mainly for listening to music, and man, the audio quality was top-notch! The build was like a tank, and even today, I can still feel its premium feel.

What's your HTC story? Which HTC phone did you own, and what do you remember most about it?

My personal M8 that was the first phone I bought new, saved up for quite some time to afford it in 10th grade, as a discounted older model (but arguably avoiding the then-new M9 and its SD810 issues).

I fondly remember it blew everyone's mind in high school, but the extent of which really gets driven home by how much it still impresses people to this day. It doesn't look, and certainly doesn't sound, like a phone half as old as me.

Only recently has OLED trickled down to much cheaper current offerings, but the IPS panel still looks great especially compared to just a few years ago when many midrange phones were still LCD.

The audio experience, and this is as someone who is currently using Pixel 11 as my actual smartphone, is still right up there.

The raw sound is slightly better on the P11 for just casually watching/listening, but like with most phones nowadays is unbalanced, with "stereo" meaning one decent speaker firing down and a tinny earpiece up top.

To actually sit down and watch something in landscape, the stereo separation, balanced speakers and overall soundstage still definitely makes up for the slightly better raw sound.

I hate that phones with actual good and innovative design like this don't and seemingly can't exist anymore. Every new phone outside of foldables is a 6.7" brick with squared sides, a corner camera island, and imbalanced "stereo" speakers because you will buy yet another fucking iPhone clone and you will be happy.

The perfect upgrade to the One M7. While the One X and One M7 are naturally my favorite models in the series, the One M8 is—in my opinion—the most beautiful and refined of them all. Every now and then, I take it out to listen to music, hold and admire it, and reflect on the memories of the past. That’s where the true value lies!

Brand new, full-box unit. It runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat (factory-rooted); I’ve kept it completely stock to preserve that nostalgic feel.

And the audio experience with those BoomSound speakers is just incredible.

Hello any one has any idea where i can find a battery for my old HTC desire phone.

The phone used to work well till its battery started draining very quickly.

I had replaced the battery once but that was around 8-10 years back when removable battery inside phones was common and it was easy to find a replacement.

But that new battery also faced the same issue as the earlier one. After that I got a new phone.

I had kept the phone with me as a souvenir but I had always wished to turn it back on once again.

It's an HTC desire 526g plus.

so my phone which is a Nokia g20 broke it's screen broke and I've talked to this mobile shop person and he says it's hard to find lcd for this model and it's been 2 months and if you guys are gonna say order from aliexpress well my brother says its risky as we also have to pay beforehand so..*crying sobbing screaming emoji* and im just waiting and I had to come back to hostel so i brought my old hag phone Oppo A37f only for messaging from sim as its android is 5.1.1 and it cant install whatsapp or anything except insta wow, can anybody out there a person who's like an angel help me outtt either help me find the screen asap or how can i install whatsapp etc on my chutku phone or idk jailbreak it to a higher android level (please forgive my uneducated in technology words)
