How and When to find best deals

I am curious whats the best way to find hotel deals that are hard to say no for (especially in great hotels.) i am eager to listen to your tips and tricks!

I've been noticing a steady stream of posts about third party booking tools, and they almost always end up heavily downvoted. That's Reddit working as intended, since downvotes bury content and upvotes push it forward. The issue is that most of these posts aren't really discussions at all, they're just rants about one bad personal experience.
So I wanted to get everyone's thoughts on how we should handle it going forward:
Curious where people land on this.

I've been sitting on this one for just over a month. In the first week of September I stayed at an Autograph Property. I had marked no housekeeping, I was only there for 2 nights, and as a solo business traveler, I don't need it. This happened within 24 hours of my check-in.
Well, I arrive back to my room after work and notice housekeeping came through. How did I notice? My bed was made, the two complementary water bottles were replenished, and that was it, at least that was the only correct things housekeeping had done.
What other signs existed that someone had entered my room? Well a female used my toilet, left the seat lid up, and did not flush. My receipt from CVS that I had sitting on the desk had its $4 off coupon ripped off from the bottom and was gone. And the garbage cans were not emptied.
I searched through all my property and couldn't find anything missing, but the whole thing left me pretty uneasy. Given 20k points, and free breakfast which I couldn't use due to an early departure the next day. I had even questioned talking to the front desk, because of how odd this all sounds.

I'm staying at a Fairfield Inn and the room phone rang at 11 pm. The guy on the line said he was at the front desk, their computer system had gone down and they needed to reenter all of our info. He wanted my name, dates I was staying at the hotel, billing address and credit card number. The actual front desk person said they've reported this to the police but it still happens. Just wanted to let other people know so they can be aware🚨🚨🚨

So Best Western wasn't known to be the nicest of hotel chains... so apparently they thought the name was the problem. Introducing WorldHotels! Cause apparently a new name fixes worn out hotels and outdated tech. Good idea or is it a sinking ship?

Hi everyone!
My girlfriend and I are planning to visit Bankura and are looking for a safe, clean, and couple-friendly hotel for a short stay.
Could anyone please suggest hotels in Bankura that allow unmarried couples with valid government ID proof?
A few things we're looking for:
If you've personally stayed at any such hotel in Bankura, please share your experience, hotel name, approximate price, and booking tips.
Any genuine recommendations would be really helpful. Thanks in advance! 🙏

I work front desk hotel. Right now it's glitching where you can't see arrivals unless you mess with it and refresh. It stopped bringing over guests phone numbers so you have to go into the extranet to see them.
Right now it won't let me see any guest reservation info until I "verify my identity", but every time I prompt it to call our phone number with a code, the phone doesn't ring . So it says I need to call customer service with a provided pin number. But as you know calling customer service can be a nightmare. Plus it's probably going to require this all the time now.

Hi all,
I travel a decent amount with my new work. Primarily in the Nordics but with occasional Germany, Netherlands, Poland.
I want to start using the hotel chain that is available in the region that gives a decent amount of points for stay & has a ok membership benefits.
I have used Radisson so far but the point conversion to stays is terrible. Which hotel chain is a lot of bang for the bucks?

We didn’t believe the rumors not until we experienced it.
We had our internship at Seda Bacolod last summer, the staffs are good but the management? Like wdym we can’t go home without completing our quotas?
At first, when our convention was held at the hotel, we were shocked how fast their employees were during the bed making simulation ,until we learned that there are only a few employees assigned at each department handling numerous rooms each day.
We were assigned to the house keeping department that time. We were grouped but we can’t catch up to the time of the guest checking Out and Checking in in a matter of just 1-2 hours, though we have experience first hand at other hotels.
The hotel was always recruiting OJT’s but just a few paid employees. Their strategy is no different from Business Inn but Seda is more prestigious hotel.
Maybe we were overreacting but, we also noticed some employees abuses their position and harassed other interns sugar coating it as a joke.

I'm really starting to like this property. I stayed here for stays of 3 to 5 days at a time several times over the summer when my brother was in the hospital near here. And have stayed here 3 times since. The staff is super friendly, rates are usually reasonable (for Mag Mile. And even with my lowly statuses, I've always gotten a late check out, and more often than not have gotten upgraded. Definitely want to give them a shout out.

Hey everyone!
I recently got hired as a seasonal Bell Person at Gaylord Palms Resort in Orlando, and I'm really hoping to turn this into a permanent position.
I know showing up on time, working hard, having a positive attitude, and providing excellent guest service are important, but I really want to go above and beyond.
Does anyone have any tips or advice on how I can stand out, make a great impression on management, and increase my chances of being kept on permanently after the season ends?
I'd really appreciate any suggestions, especially the little things that can make a big difference!
Thanks in advance

Hello,
I have an interview for a part time role at a Hilton Hotel near me.
This is my second ever job - I have previous experience in waitressing but only a month (which doesn’t look appealing) as the staff were very cruel and I felt dread before every shift.
On my application it asked how many years of housekeeping experience I have. I said 4, because I thought informal cleaning counted. I clean my own house throughout the week and throughly at the weekend, and have done for 4 years. I also volunteer at a care home for my college course and that involves a lot of cleaning and bed making, which I enjoy.
I am worried that I lied and I sound unprofessional . I’m unsure what to say in my interview. It was very last minute - I applied and got invited 20 minutes later. The next day.
I have had several interviews and walked out with confidence. I don’t feel confident for this. I feel very unprepared.
Some things that are impietsnt to mention is: attention to detail, time management, taking responsibility in the role, empathy for hotel guests, being presentable.
Seeking advice for anything else I could add to secure this job!
Working in a hotel has always been a dream of mine as I have stayed in many myself and appreciate the clean environment.

I recently stayed at a hotel in Bakersfield, California. I won't name it, but it's a fancy one in the middle of downtown that cost us over $250 for one night.
When we got there everything was fine, but later at night a large crowd gathered outside the hotel to protest the presence of ICE agents that were supposedly staying there. They were yelling, banging on drums, and causing a ruckus. The police made them disperse, but as soon as the police left, they came back. We couldn't get any sleep for several hours and it was disruptive to our plans.
I complained to the front desk along with several others, and was told that there was nothing they could do, but to see the manager in the morning. The next morning, upon checkout, we were told that the manager was not there but would get back to us. Of course that didn't happen, so we called and were told that they can't do anything but they "regret our experience". The so-called manager was quite dismissive about it.
We complained to Expedia, who we booked through, and they attempted to call the hotel to authorize a refund, but were also rebuffed. They did give us a $50 voucher for future use on their site, which I guess is something.
Would I be entitled to anything else? I feel like a partial refund would be appropriate, and I feel like the hotel should pay for it, not Expedia which did nothing wrong. We spent over $500 for 2 nights, and it was a nice hotel otherwise, but this really messed it up.

Had anybody ever used Houstays in Toronto? I'm gathering that it's a more locally concentrated "Airbnb." Just curious if there's been any positive or negative thoughts on the company! TIA!

I am typically a Hilton person to rack up points, but genuinely have nonshade to other brands.
Recently stayed at this hotel when the nearby doubletree was booked up. On the surface everything was fine. Everything was clean and updated.
I rolled in around 9:45pm, and fell asleep before 10:30. Woke up at 5:15/30 to shower quick before checking out at 6am.
Went to the shower discovered no floor towel, turned around- no bath towels nor wash clothes, just the 2 hand towels.
I didn't have time to call the desk and wait for housekeeping and did what any reasonable person would do and dried off using the hand towels. Soaped up using my hands. No biggie. Also noticed that the bracket holding the bodywash was broken.
I stopped at the desk on my way out and let FDA know. She seemed appalled about the towel situation and apologized. But we got chatting and she said the missing towels is due to theft. They don't have enough to turnover rooms AND have some in the wash. So housekeeping pulls linens, washes them and puts them back. I felt bad for housekeeping b/c their owner is too cheap to buy more creating more work for them. She also said ALL rooms have broken body wash holders because everyone steals them.. people are stealing hair dryers and alarm clocks, and they've also had tv's walk off.
I was floored. This was not in a particularly skeevy area either. I wasn't offered any points or discounts for the trouble. Would've been nice but whatever. I was on my way.
But just a heads up I guess lol

I am looking for any suggestions to resolve a double payment for a hotel booking. In July, I booked and fully prepaid a hotel in India through the American Express Travel portal (a mistake) for a December stay. A couple of weeks ago, the hotel’s reservations manager emailed me saying the hotel had not received payment and that I needed to pay to keep my booking. Concerned the email might be a scam to steal my card information, I called the front desk to verify the sender’s identity and spoke with him on his office phone. He confirmed that the hotel had not received payment and sent me a secure payment link. Forgetting that the booking was already fully prepaid through American Express, I mistakenly paid again. After checking my original booking, I called the hotel to void the second payment, but they refused. I provided the original receipt showing full payment in July, yet they still refused to issue a refund. My attempts to reach the duty manager and general manager have been unsuccessful. I then contacted American Express for help. They have been sympathetic and are working to resolve the issue. The associate has assured me that I will receive my refund soon.
I recognize that paying the hotel directly for a booking already fully paid through American Express was my mistake. My main concern is that I could lose money and that the hotel might also cancel my room without refunding my advance payment. What are my choices now? I welcome any suggestions.

Wondering what our options are as reception not overly helpful. Currently staying self catering accommodation as part of a hotel complex. Power cut for few hours and not expected to be restored until tomorrow.
No torches provided and food will be spoilt in fridge with no way to cook it.
Realise its weather caused and no one's fault but do most hotels have a back up plan for power outages other than wait and see when it comes back? Thanks

I need to host some guest this weekend. So, i am looking for decent hotels near karelibaug or station area.
I don’t want my guest feel awkward or embarrassed so, don’t want any couple friendly, hourly rate type hotels.
It should be a proper hotel with good staff and service. Not that shopping complex setups.

Hotel Delisi, Tbilisi — A disappointing stay
Unfortunately, my experience at Hotel Delisi was very disappointing. The property felt more like an old, poorly maintained guesthouse than the hotel I had expected. My room was dirty, with peeling walls, signs of dampness and a strong, unpleasant smell coming from the bathroom. The bed was uncomfortable, and the Wi-Fi did not work during my stay.
The staff member I dealt with, Anna, spoke to me in a manner I found rude and dismissive when I raised these concerns. She insisted on payment in cash. The most upsetting part was that my passport and suitcase were not returned when I requested them. I returned the following day with cash to recover my belongings and did not receive a receipt.
Afterwards, I searched Google for “hotel delisi - Ana Chuchulashvili” and found YouTube videos presented as accounts from other customers describing distressing experiences involving the property and the person named in that search. I found these videos upsetting, although I cannot independently verify their claims. Anyone considering booking can search those words and assess the material themselves.
I have photographs and a recording documenting parts of my own experience. I would encourage travellers to read recent reviews carefully and confirm the room conditions and payment arrangements before booking. Personally, I would not stay here again.
Has anyone else stayed at Hotel Delisi in Tbilisi and experienced similar problems with cleanliness, unpleasant smells, cash payments or the way their concerns were handled?

Spent 15 minutes with its AI then human support. Won’t accept Apple limits on tracking. Enter nine digit code on TV. They change code every few seconds and reject code presented less than a minute ago. Human refuses to proceed without giving my phone number. They don’t need that.
Previous hotel let me cast with this but kept forcing me to re-register. I already thought it wasn’t worth the hassle.
