Discussion Coffin Moon

I just finished this and loved it! But WHY am I so emotional and feel so heavy and sad after finishing it? I’ve read hundreds of horror novels in my life and have never felt this sad or emotional with a vampire novel. Is it just me?

Rosson’s writing just hits. We’re used to gritty horror being pretty heartless a lot of the time, but Rosson clearly cares a great deal about his characters. It shows.

Right? Why am I having mixed feelings about Varley?! (Sp?)

Rosson's characters tend to be beaten-down everymen and the weight of their pressures bears on you the entire book. That emotional weight can really stick with you.

It's similar to In the Valley of the Sun, another vampire book that will leave you feeling the same way.
