Movie Help Monster House (2006)

Does anybody know why Chowder answered the phone with “homocide” when DJ called him? Me and my sister were rewatching it and we just now realized he said that.

i always thought it was just chowder being chowder, like he's that kid who says weird random stuff for no reason. maybe he watched too many cop shows or his parents let him see movies he shouldn't

my little cousin used to answer phone saying "morgue" for like a whole year, no idea where he got it from. kids just absorb weird words and run with it
