Have fun everyone! For the living

Just curious any of you still play this game?

And is it steam or the mod?

So I've seen it on steam but reading the reviews it seems like it's not actually hellgate London but some stripped mmo version.

I've been playing this game on and off throughout several years and I STILL have no idea what this is for

I am level 28. Did most but not all side quests. Marksman. Lv30 should be fine. Whole game enemies are 2-3 levels higher than me. But the last chapter with lies is driving me nuts…. Cheats, anything

Okay here goes. I asked this question months ago and I may have not understood the answer properly because I didn't understand how Steam worked.

What you need to do is not set it up in the general settings steam controller. Go to the individual game and then change the way the controller works. I was going to buy a new gyro controller the Gamesir Supernova one and realised I already had a gyro controller called ECHTpower. So set it up so that the left thumbstick works like a WASD navigation (I didn't use the directional pad set up as I was mapping through joy2key but you can totally use the directional pad and set it up for WASD that way ) with joy2key inputs for skills and the right thumbstick as a flick stick. The flick stick part of it and moving the controller in the direction will be gyro. Okay my controller has only 6 axis so if you have better gyro you will get a smoother gameplay.

So now when you move the right thumbstick the body and head moves with the crosshair to the target and you can then aim your weapon on the thing but moving the whole controller is faster. The gyro is the controller movement.

Going to make a new character and wish me luck and keep your fingers crossed it works and I can finally play Hellgate London on a controller. Best thing is the seamless switch between mouse and controller.

If you have the old CDROM of the game set it up as non steam game and set up the controller there through Steam input. You can go to the Hellgate Revival site to get the mods to play the single player and avoid the 1FPS steam release problem. They also have the Multiplayer there.

After much testing moving the controller itself does not move the reticule. The reticule seems fixed. So this experiment is a failure sorry. 😞

I remembered about this game and I want to play with a friend in a cooperative mode. Can you help me with this? The london2038 website has not opened and I do not know where to look for a way to play together now.

Tried finding a guide before posting but all the guides are for how to access online. My ping would be to high to play online but still REALLY want to try this game out. Would prefer to avoid steam version as people said it cuts content from the original. All ive seen so far is to actually purchase a physical copy. My pc doesn't actually have a disc tray is there a work around for that? Appreciate any advice thank you!

Hi, I abandoned the main quest is there any way to restart it? It was the British museum quest

I got the game, extracted the disc ISO and tried installing it. First time it got stuck at the very end.

I searched it and at the time I just tried mounting the ISO image and installed it. Someone said you'd need to extract the ISO and so I did. Tried again and got me an error about this file "localizedDatChecksum.xml" that it couldn't access it or something and told me to make sure it existed. Which it did but every retry gave me the same error popup. After that, I tried putting the extracted iso folder into the root of my hard drive thinking the director naming was just too big (with all the extractions and so it was quite big indeed). But now it went back to getting stuck at the end of the installatation...

Anyone got any tips or solutions to fix this? Thank you :D

Update 1: I tried installing through the "HGL_x64.msi" instead of the setup and it went from start to finish just fine. But on trying to use the "Patch_NA_Europe_Germany_MP_2.0_(1.0.86.4580)" it says "Launcher could not find language.dat"; "Failed to load strings".

hey. anyone tried to play Hellgate London / London 2038 on Steam Deck ?

any Guides on that how to ?

As the title says, I was trying out R.I.P. - Reincarnation Insurance Program, a futuristic vampire survival-like game, and I was thinking: couldn’t the same be done for Hellgate: London? Even just as a way to raise money for Redemption, if it ever happens. Maybe as a tech demo of what they can develop, i don't know 😅

I rly wanna play this but I think the steam version has issues or is it fixed? If not what are my options? The mod? I hear the mod server is in Canada tho and I'm from eu wouldn't that give me lag? Any other way of playing it? Without the 1fps bug?

Man they really need to fix this game if it's not fixed already

Hey all..

I have a question I really want to play hellgate but the steam version has that terrible 1fps bug so it's unplayable... I found out about London 2038 mod but it's a online server and the only server they got is in Canada I think it was? But in from EU Netherlands wouldn't my ping be horrible and unplayable?

Anyone here from EU that plays and can shine some light and let me know how it is?

What should I do cause I wanna play tho...

Seeing how the Hellgate: Revival forum has been down for days, maybe an alternative source for fan modifications should be created just in case, like pages on moddb? I was going to download the 4.4 unofficial patch, as well as maybe some other modifications, and the forum is literally the only place from which to get them. That's a little concerning.

In any case, could someone please tell me how long do these maintanence outages usually take?

tempted to spend 10 bucks on it, but not sure about the gaming experience.

I want to buy one haven't ever tried one before so I wondered has any tried this. My biggest issue with this game is the part where target mobs with the right thumbstick. Just not happening it's clunky and bad enough to give me a headache so I stopped.

So I was wondering if I had a gyro controller then made steam use it like PS controller will the gyro kick in for the game. I map everything with joy2key and use the gyro to target will this work?

I would buy a controller with gyro just to play this. I know nuts huh . I am playing Guildwars 1 with a controller now and it works because you can target with the right and left bumpers. Skills work very well by holding left trigger first 4 A,B,Y,X and the right trigger for the next 4 skills. Really brilliant.

Hello! I am playing the original Hellgate London and instead of setting the region to North America I set it to South America, so I am not playing the London 2038 version. Do you know if my game will still have Stonehenge? Or is there a way to change the region to North America so that I can play the 2038 version?

Thank you in advance, I love this game!

I was looking for info about the blood moon, but couldn’t find much.

Back around launch, I once loaded into a level that was illuminated by a blood-red light of some sort, and I remember seeing or hearing the phrase “blood moon”.

Sadly the game closed within a minute of loading the level, and I never had the chance to see what it was going to be.

Is there a video or screenshots of the original blood moon from back then?

I have discs so can install and the use the revival mod but was wondering about the class. I wanted to play the engineer but I heard it was only good in the 2038 server so I won't be trying it.

I was hoping the summoner wasn't bugged also like the Engineer drone. I was also considering the evoker poison build I saw. In your opinion which is easier to play the summoner or the evoker to actually finish the game.

I cannot play any marksman or melee builds as I am not a very good player I can only play classes which have an easier time at using skills that require less aiming. I have a problem with aiming properly. Just a skill issue, I suck.

I want Asia mp2.0 patch file, if anyone has it please share it with me. plss

Greetings. Are there any mods that help this game with textures, models and other stuff related to graphic? I would appreciate the answers.

Guys plz help,

I bought steam version I want to play the game so bad but I have Intel CPU and I'm getting the 1fps bug is there a fix anywhere? Is there anyway I can still play? I love this game I don't wanna give it up ,

Can anyone plz help me so I can play it?
