Thing summer.

summer SUCKS. it is the worst season by far. IT IS NOT EVEN SUMMER YET AND WE'RE ALREADY REACHING 30° WHERE I LIVE. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. GOD DAMN THE SUN. it is hot as shit, you get fucked by a gazillion insects, if you don't put on sunscreen you just get obliterated by the sun, it is bright as hell for like 20 hours a day. i wouldn't even mind the insects that much if they didn't feel the need to pump me full of their itch juice. people who prefer summer over winter confuse me so much, especially because i am just fine wearing a hoodie throughout summer while everyone else asks me how i'm not dying, so apparently they feel like it's EVEN HOTTER.

give me winter. give me the calm collected darkness. give me the soft blanket of snow that makes everything look a million times prettier. give me the beautiful sunrises when i get up. people complain about the cold as if you can't just put on another layer of clothing. it doesn't work that way with heat. eventually there is nothing to take off anymore. fuck summer.

Thing This rapey joke that no one calls out

Post image

Old as time, and it keeps coming up, yet for some reason, no one acknowledges it for what it is. A Rape enabling joke where lesbian women disrespect straight women's sexual orientation. Why is this seen as hilarious and funny?

Thing I hate when non-offending pedophiles use the MAP flag to label themselves.

Post image
2.3k Upvotes

Bro, I thought you're meant to hate being attracted to kids, why would you label yourself as it?! They're meant to control their urge and hate it, not endulge in it. Besides, being attracted to kids and using a flag is on another level of wrong in LGBTQ+ spaces, and you'll probably get banned anyway. Being attracted to kids isn't LGBTQ, it's something you need to control.

Thing I hate it when people in fandom expect you to know stuff, not mentioned in the show and only on twitter.

Post image
3.6k Upvotes

Like, bro

I am not an idiot for not knowing about some random tweet the writer made online.

You can't expect me to knowledge something unless it is in the show.

Like, i hate it when you make a rant post and the comments are just people telling you why you are wrong. But act like you should of just known..

Also, it works sometimes. I will admit that i disliked that non of the humans villains in my Adventures with superman had powers. But when i found out the writers, want only aliens to have powers. It made perfect sense and i stopped disliking that aspect.

But, when it's hole plot points. Like "oh don't you see the retcon don't ruin the lore, because the writer came out on twitter and explained it"

Like bro you can't just explain that stuff in tweet. Like answer it in the show.

Thing I hate the cursive capital G

Post image
6.9k Upvotes

Some cursive letters I understand why they're different from the usual way they're written and I can see how they came to be written that way. But in what universe is this a capital g? If you told me to guess what this letter was in cursive I would guess g on like my 7th attempt. My brain autocorrects it to D every time I read it. Maybe a more accurate capital cursive g might look too similar to a capital c or q but surely there must have been a better way to write it than this?

Thing I hate how a lot of FPS games still feature this piece of garbage.

Post image
3.9k Upvotes

What is this you may ask? It’s the WWRD( Worlds Worst Red Dot). It’s an amazon/aliexpress piece of junk that won’t hold zero and break at the slightest bit of stress. Even games that pride themselves in realism like Escape From Tarkov still feature this glorified monocle. Whenever I see one of these in a video game, I automatically assume that the devs don’t know anything about firearms and lack the elite ball knowledge. There are so many better red dots that are simpler in shape and by proxy easier to model too. they could have just gone with the Aimpoint Pro, Ultradot gen 2, Trijicon MRO just to name a few. All of those are way better AND would be easier to model. Two that I listed has proven combat effectiveness irl.

Thing The fact that WE all have to cave dive one day

5.4k Upvotes

It kind of sucks knowing that one day, we, yes we all will eventually need to crawl through a cave that's barely wider than our own bodies for 5 hours minimum. It sucks to think about, but I guess we all have to accept it.

Using images from a movie that showcases the horrors and lack of autonomy a woman goes through to say the most misogynistic “I hate woman” stuff is both ironic and tragic.

I also feel like a lot of people are missing main points of this movie, and have boiled it down to just “crazy obsessed lady lol”

Thing I fucking hate smoking with every ounce of my being

Post image
3.9k Upvotes

I come from an area where over half of the population are smokers. Parents are completely OK smoking around their kids, and exposing them to second-hand smoke AND IT'S FUCKING NORMALIZED. This is genuinely disgusting. And when their kids start smoking at 14, parents don't give a shit. 90% of stores have zero issue selling cigarettes to people who are CLEARLY MINORS. And not to talk about the fact that if you enter a cafe or some other enclosed public area, half of the time it would reek of cigarette smoke, DESPITE SMOKING IN ENCLOSED AREAS BEING ILLEGAL.

I've openly hated smoking ever since I was a child. I've been trying to get my mother to quit, but she never wanted to. It took me 8-9 months to get my bf off cigarettes, and even then he started doing zyns, which is still not good, but acceptable.

Governments don't ban dangerous and highly addictive substances like nicotine, and it still puzzles me how cigarettes are fully legal (and even super cheap where I live).. other than, it gives the stupid government more money. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THE PEOPLE'S WELLBEING. ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS MONEY. All they do is slap a disgusting image of a sick person on cigarette packs and a warning. What has that done? Absolutely nothing. Has any smoker ever even quit just by looking at these images?

I really don't get why people even start smoking in the first place, if they know they'll have increased risk of lung cancer, or they will struggle more with physical activities due to their lungs being fucked, or smell like shit, waste so much of their money on something COMPLETELY optional and useless.

I don't mean hate towards smokers. Yes, if I see you smoking in public, I might look at you judgementally and run past you, holding my breath and avoiding you at any cost. But I still hang out with smokers (not that I have much of a choice..), but just stay far away from them when they're smoking. I've never been able to tolerate the smell at all. I can always sense a smoker nearby, and it makes me feel nauseous. But anyway, sorry if I offended anyone with this rant. At the end of your day, what you do to your body is entirely your choice, only as long as you don't affect other people. The only smokers I don't vibe with are ones that smoke near other people (ESPECIALLY KIDS) or those who smoke anywhere indoors.

Thing I hate what they did to the Danimals monkey

Post image
12.3k Upvotes

Look at what they did to him. The gurt crazed man-beast no longer has his radical nature. His new form pretends to still be cool, hiding behind his backward cap and public nudity. But he cannot hide his joyous demeanor. He is now a monkey, no longer a horrific mix of simian and man. He does not expose his teeth, bearing them as a threat. He is gentle. He is not the monster I remember.

“O-Oh! Todayz waz pr3tty good UwU :3 I so quirky b3caus3 I’m Autiztic :3 >.<“ Did you graduate the second grade? Do you not know how to form complete sentences? God it’s so annoying.

There are some memes i wish they were still alive like the Three layer dip stack or the barbershop haircut that costs a quarter, but no not a single meme can last longer than a month now because our retention span is so low we cant watch a video longer than 5 minutes without it needing a cutaway or loud sound every 10 seconds

Thing The design of the Progress pride flag

Post image
2.7k Upvotes

To preface, intersectionality is great, I'm a trans lesbian, possibly intersex (haven't been officially diagnosed yet but Its highly likely I have klinefelter's), but This flag is so visually terrible. The black and the brown clas super hard with almost the entire thing, the intersex flag is way too bright, I think putting the purple symbol IN the yellow stripe of the rainbow would've been much more visually pleasing and clever, the sharp triangular inclusion of the trans flag, the black and brown, and the intersex

TLDR the message aside, we gotta get better at visual design y'all. Just look at the Lesbian or the sapphic or the bi flag that shits so beautiful, the progress flag is an overstimulating mess of clashing colours and designs

Edit : this literally just about the pure aesthetic design y'all please stop making this a war about the original rainbow being inclusive or not, I have my opinions on all that but that's not what this is about, I'm not here to debate or hate on intersectionality or any messaging of this flag, this is a purely visual design thing.

THEY'RE SO INFURIATING AND DUMB AND THEY ARE THE EPITOME OF REDDITOR HUMOR, ANYONE WHO USES THESE IS A TROGLODYTE. HOW FAR ARE YOU ON THE NORWOOD SCALE TO INIRONICALLY THINK THIS IS FUNNY.

THE PEOPLE WHO USE THESE ARE ON THE SAME LEVEL AS FACEBOOK MOMS POSTING MINION MEMES, ITS THE SAME KINDA PEOPLE WHO USE "UPDOOT" OR "THANK YOU FOR THE GOLD KIND STRANGER"

The worst part is that they're CONSTANTLY spammed in threads and it drowns out any kinda discussion. The reaction images are worse when it just creates a giant chain of stupid redditor reaction images.

Like, I don't care that you drew Shadow the Hedgehog punching an ICE agent. I hate ICE as much as the next guy, but virtue signaling for worthless internet points does nothing to benefit anyone. I hate when people use their assumptions about fictional characters' opinions to support their stances, political or otherwise. "Spider-Man would support trans rights!" Ok, and? I support trans rights, I just don't feel the need to drag my favorite character into it so that my stance feels valid. Get out of your basement and look outside. No one cares.

Thing I hate the "misunderstood villain with sad backstory forced to be a villain" villain trope in fiction (vid unrelated)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I hate when a villain was a sad person before but now is "haha im an evil person". I especially hate it more when it is also written poorly. Worse, it exists almost eveywhere.

I like it when villains were evil from birth and now are still evil, not misunderstood sad twinks.

I want actuall EVIL villains, ACTUAL evil..

Thing I HATE Natasha doll abuse

Thumbnail
gallery
3.5k Upvotes

For those who don't know, it's a huge trend in East Asia right now to buy a black baby doll with red lips and basically use them as stress ball or torture them for fun. I've seen videos on Rednote and tiktok where these dolls are steamrolled, filled up with water, or made "beautiful" by painting her white and giving her pretty makeup (this was actually seen as a counter abuse movement somehow), but sometimes they intentionally do it badly for laughs. Sometimes they put Natasha into Zulu style animal print clothes and feed her watermelon, and if she's not just used for stereotypes, she's a prop for memes. Why did they choose to abuse a black baby, specifically a little black girl? Why is their "subversive" idea of humanizing her making her a pale skinned douyin makeup model? I'm happy some Chinese natives are calling out the trend, but it doesn't even begin to counteract the popularity of what's essentially a torture doll.

Thing Hate a foolish statement from a pro-AI

Post image
7.6k Upvotes

One thing I don't understand about some pro AI arguments is this: when people point out that AI could take jobs away from humans, their response is often, "Get a job!"

Then they make fun of people who work at McDonald's. That argument makes no sense. If AI replaces artists and other creative workers, people who spent years pursuing their dreams, and those people end up having to work at McDonald's to make a living, why mock them for it?

They're still human beings who deserve respect. AI isn't human, and treating people as disposable while ridiculing them for taking whatever work they can find is a weak and contradictory argument.

AI makes things worse for disabled artists who are unable to get jobs like those at McDonald's. What really sucks is the lack of empathy toward these people.

Thing I hate karambits been seen as combat knives

Post image
1.9k Upvotes

The main issue with karambits is a lack of reach and attack options in comparison to conventional combat knives making them not that effective, and obviously it is better than fighting with just your bare hand since they were originally evolved from a farm tool civilians can carry legally to defend themselves rather than being made specifically for combat.

Thing How most of the internet saw June almost immediately when Little Einsteins got popular again

Thumbnail

1.9k Upvotes

For context, June is from Little Einsteins and that show got popular because of the theme song being posted on Twitter. And lookie here, SOME mfs started simping for said June even though she's obviously a kid. A kid is a kid even if it's fictional or not. I genuinely hate how some people use nostalgia to justify creepy behavior. Can I PLEASE enjoy my childhood without weird asses being weird asses?

And yes, it's okay to say that you had a crush on her WHEN YOU WERE A KID, but if you still have a crush on her AS AN ADULT, that's just fucked up

(2nd image shows the mentality of some of the Twitter users when it comes to her. I hate that excuse so much)

It's like the people who wear these go through mitosis to produce more fucking clones of eachother because they seem to not have a single bit of originality.

Thing non standard bathroom signs

Post image
2.3k Upvotes

here is an example of a bathroom sign, one for men one for women, what is wrong with that?

i can't comprehend why 50% of bar/restaurant owners look at this and go like

"nah, i'll just put a triangle and a circle, or a knob and a handle"

don't they see literally everyone standing there for 10 seconds straight just to carefully open a door with a 50% chance of looking like a dumbass

why such a simple useful and working thing has to become a complicated useless and dumb """""design choice"""""
