This spring, I started practicing cursive at a challenge. My mother always writes letters in cursive to my family and I am the only one that can read them. So in the future, I am probably going to be the one to teach my children how to write cursive as we live in Japan. Before I get to the point of having to teach cursive, I need to improve my writing.
At the beginning, it was painfully slow. My speed has increased but there are always moments of "How do I write a capital G"? And even looking at other posts here, I have changed how I write my own letters too. No longer do all of my letters follow a specific font/script.
This is also my first time journaling everyday. Sometimes it can be the best thing to calm me down before going to bed. Just sitting at the dining table, a single light on, writing my journal while my family is sleeping.
My writing might not be pretty and is often written in a hurry, but I have improved and had a lot of fun challenging myself. Now to continue but instead of B5, go with A5 notebook. I bought a Rollbahn lined notebook to give a try.

This is my handwriting, I've been told it's legible but unusual. I was a lefty who was taught to write by righties so I hold my pencil in a very weird way and it never got corrected. Would it be worth relearning?

This is my attempt to make my handwriting “bigger”. They only ended up wider. Lol I don’t hate it though 🤍
Note: The pen shower here isn’t the pen I used to write. I used my ballpoint Pilot Acro 300.

Here are some notes from my history lessons. I want to make my handwriting more refined and... for lack of a better term: founding father-reminiscent. I want it to look more official overall, as I am entering a more "official" job role. Any help is appreciated!

In the past few years I developed an obsession with collecting cool pens but never got to improve my handwriting
I kept writing the way I used to do before and it made me not enjoy it, especially since I mostly wrote for homework and whatnot
Now I'm developing a new journalling hobby to jot down my thoughts and ideas on paper
I have a long way to go but I am starting to like writing again

My grandma (a retired teacher)had us in handwriting bootcamp during the lockdown after she saw how bad our handwriting were. Everyday we had to trace a dotted line sentence in English, afrikaans, cursive and normal for both. It did improve my handwriting but she didn't allow any artistic flair. Readable but boring. I'm gonna post her handwriting later.

I'm becoming a dad in January, and as a long term project I'm writing a journal keeping track of the last trimester of the pregnancy and their first year. I've always been told my handwriting is pretty bad, especially when taking notes. I want to make sure they can read my notes when they are older, so I really want to improve.
I've added two samples of handwriting, quick note taking on top and slow "neat" writing on the bottom. What should I focus on most to improve?

Hello, friends!
I generally write VERY small and mostly just for myself to read. I’m looking now to increase the size of my “normal” handwriting to make it easier to read for others.
This is a sample of my “larger” handwriting at normal/quite fast pace. Is it readable? Are there letters that are hard to decipher? Is there anything that could be adjusted to make it easier on the eyes to read?
I think I’m set on how I write, as it has looked like this since I was 12 or so, save some adjustments on specific letters. Not looking for tips to make it prettier or anything, just easier to read.
Please be kind, it’s my first post in this sub 🙌 Thank you so much in advance!

I’m a beginner and I’m looking for a style (or styles) that looks neat but also a little hard to read since I’ll be using it for journaling. My current style doesn’t seem to have that vibe yet, but I don’t know what I’m missing.
Feedback on how to improve my cursive in general is also welcome.
Pen and ink: Platinum Preppy. First page is in fine nib, second is in medium.

Hello,
I'm in my 30s and am a mature student. While I have spent years in the past not really writing by hand much (but never stopping completely), the past few years I have done so plenty. However, over the past 6-12 months I've been developing issues. I am aware it's probably a medical thing, but my doctor was very confused and has no idea what's going on because I don't have symptoms of any conditions that could cause it.
I use what is apparently called the standard "tripod grip", and it's getting harder and harder to keep a grip on the pen and form letters. My writing looks mostly fine, but letters sometimes start in the wrong place, half way up the line, and my grip is slowly slipping on the pen as I write and I have to readjust. It also becomes quite painful and it seems my thumb is bending more and more to maintain a tight grip.
No other strength issues or noticeable dexterity issues, which is why I'm wondering if I maybe sort of... forgot how to grip the pen properly at some point? I noticed it was getting slightly difficult and slow earlier this year and just decided to start joining more of my letters to try and be quicker, and am wondering if I've made the issue much worse by adjusting my handwriting after many years?
Has anyone experienced something similar?
Sorry if this shouldn't actually be posted here.
Edit: I forgot: when I noticed I was getting pain from it and the pen was making scratchy noises on the paper, I looked at my grip and the pen was actually sitting across the gap between my thumb and forefinger. That was actually easier in terms of dexterity but still caused its own issues. Pictured below: "normal" grip first, and the accidental grip I'd started using at some point before trying to correct it. The top "testing" uses the first grip and the second line, the second.
