Way back in elementary school, one of my teachers put on an LP that had a Halloween song that was either called "Halloween" or "On Halloween." This would've been somewhere around 1979-1980ish. Here are the main words to the chorus:

"Halloween, Strange things seen. Ghosts may walk. Skeletons talk on Halloween"

There were more lyrics of course, but this is what I remember.

It was a fun, spooky little song. Very catchy, as I still remember it to this day. The recording sounded like possibly a small chorus of school aged kids singing it. I've seen a few other people post about this in the past, but no one seems to know the album it came from or who wrote it. It's a tough one to search for, with so many Halloween albums out there. It may have come with a book. I vaguely remember us having the words in either a printout or book and singing along.

Anyone else out there familiar with this tune, and where to possibly find a recording of it?

Do you have any favorite songs that sound good on a Halloween Mix even though they aren't necessarily Halloween Songs?

Original composition

So I wrote a song as a tribute to Dark Shadows and transported myself by seance into the actual TV show for the video! Take a look and see what you think. I tried to include some of my favourite characters and storylines, but I have to say the most thrilling part was just to walk up and down that infamous staircase!

A few years ago I used to run a weekly community music show where I'd give musicians a theme and see what wonderfully strange things they came up with.

For Halloween 2020, we ended up with over 80 minutes of spooky original music, creepy horror soundscapes, Halloween songs and some gloriously weird remixes, all made by independent musicians using the PlayStation game Dreams.

I've been restoring some of those old shows recently, and thought this one might be perfect background listening for anyone gaming, decorating or just getting into the Halloween spirit this week.

There's a bit of everything, from genuinely atmospheric and unsettling to completely ridiculous. 😂
