This thing is immaculate. There isnāt a scratch on it except a couple of blemishes on the plastic electronics cover. Neck is perfect, and the intonation is 100% spot on. Itās also actually a grey market guitar. Was only meant for sale and distribution in Japan. How it made it here, Iāve no idea. The only issue was that whomever installed the cheap Fujitsu battery didnāt place it in correctly and I had to spend about 15 minutes prying it out to install a Duracell. Other than that, well worth the $1600.

1972 or 1973 Fender. My dad passed away on May 9 th from esophageal cancer. I didnāt even know he had this one. Plays really well, the action is really close and has a really good tone. I donāt know much about it.

Man, the difference is crazy.
I picked up this Squier Affinity SSS Strat last week and had a chance to try it out this weekend. I love how it feels, itās definitely much different than my Schecters. I know this is a budget Strat but I bought it with the intention of making it my project guitar with plans for a loaded pick guard and a better neck in the future - even then, it feels and plays great as it is.
I do have some questions about the sound, though. I know single coils, especially in a SSS setup, can buzz a good amount when plugged in. Is there a way to mitigate that for the time being? Maybe improving grounds or some sort of shielding?

I'm looking at a 2024 Made in Japan Hybrid II Stratocaster HSH and curious about people's thoughts. It's in great shape, alder body and maple neck. I really love the feel and sound of it, which I believe are the most important things.
I'm new to electric guitar, having banged away on an acoustic for a number of years. I have an intro Squier, which I do like the feel of and could upgrade the electronics since I'm not crazy about the sound. But I think I really like the Humbucker sound which has me looking at other guitars.
I think I'm really asking, is there anything I should be looking out for? There is no tremolo bar but I've heard that setup is hard to keep in tune, and maybe harder to change strings?
The shop is asking around $1000 USD which I think is pretty reasonable.
Thanks.

Anything will help but my main question is what should I be looking for in getting a guitar

Currently listed on FB marketplace, seems like a mishmash of different Yamaha SC models from the 70s and 80s
This is the only picture available to me atm. Iāve asked the seller for more, will update the post once I get them

This is my first guitar art project āThe Krakenā based on a PRS SE CE.
I started by completely reworking the original finish, preparing the guitar body and giving it a new black paint job as the foundation for the artwork.
Once the new finish was ready, I drew the entire design onto the body and painted hundreds of individual geometric facets by hand using different shades of blue acrylic paint.
The biggest challenge was making the tentacles flow naturally around the pickups, bridge and controls while keeping the composition balanced.
After finishing the artwork, I sealed everything with a clear coat and reassembled the guitar.
Iāve included a few work-in-progress pictures so you can see how it developed.
Would love to hear what you think of the result! :)

Can anyone identify this vintage Japanese Aria Pro II?
I bought this Aria Pro II second-hand in the UK in the late 1990s. I believe it's from the late 1970s or early 1980s, but I've been unable to identify the model.
It's made in Japan, with a bolt-on neck, serial number 078594, two humbuckers and a translucent two-tone finish with a contrasting central stripe on both sides.
As far as I know, the hardware and finish are original.
The guitar is in fairly poor condition, although the neck is straight and the electronics worked the last time I tried it.
I've searched for similar models but haven't found an exact match.
Does anyone recognise it, or know which Aria catalogue it might appear in? I'd also be interested in its approximate value in its present condition.

....not my new guitar. I know the first suggestion will be to open up the jack and bend the longer part (not sure of the name, but it sits against whatever is inserted, whether its a guitar cable or a wireless input) but guitar cables work just fine.
Is that really the only option? Is there another "hack" for this?
The only reason I haven't opened it up yet to bend that piece is because I am concerned if I do accommodate the wireless systems, any guitar cables I try to insert will be VERY difficult to do, but I am guessing I don't have a choice?

Iām a guitarist of 6 years self taught.
Iāve been told by multiple burklee musicians Iām good.
I feel mediocre, I just wanted to ask a professional for guidance but money is tight.
I plan on taking lessons but not sure when Iām able to.
Iāve been Studying basic theory
Touching up and practicing the basics
Like scales/chords
With a metronome
I feel Iām past the plateau stage as I put the guitar down for a year already, and have no plans on stopping.
I actually want to focus my life on guitar.
Sometimes itās just so overwhelming, I have so many things I need to learn but Iām still focusing on getting the fundamentals as down as possible.
Iām 20 and have been digging my way through trial and error and financial struggles to make this work.
Would just like advice from those who are more experienced.
Iāve also expanded my musical taste and instead of just listening to metal and punk, Iāve been listening to a lot of blues, rock, jazz and classical.
Even though I predominantly play metal/punk Iām a true blues baby from the soul. I love it, nothing beats a good blues lick.
Sorry off topic but, any off hand advice would be cool. Thanks š¤
*thank you Marty Schwartz, 365 guitar lessons and songster for making me a decent guitarist.

Hi all,
My daughters guitar suffered an unfortunate "accident" while on vacation with her childish, narcissistic biological father over the summer. The plastic housing around the neck pickup (Fishman Fluence Modern) physically broke right at the edge of the tab with the leveling screw hole in it.
I've repaired it twice with super glue (lightly sanded first, kept it in a vice all night) but it's a stress point so the first time I fixed it, it broke again when her guitar teacher was doing a setup for her and the second time (yesterday) it broke while she was playing it in her high school jazz band class.
I think at this point a third glue attempt isn't worth it. There's nothing else wrong with the pickup and it seems like a shame to just buy a new one for that small crack.
I was going to suck it up and order one today, but I figured I'd ask here first and see if anyone knows where I could get just the plastic housing, or even a broken/defective pickup that broke some other way and has a useable housing.
If that's not possible (or not a good idea for some reason I haven't yet considered) I'll just order a replacement neck pickup, but I'd love to be able to fix the one we've got.
In the meantime, she's bringing my ridiculous sticker-bombed Dean to jazz band so she'll be okay, but that's... really not a jazz guitar lol. She would love to have her baby back asap.

I've gone through countless brands and models, from Schecter and Solar to Ormsby, PRS, Kiesel and Mayones, and I've finally narrowed it down to these two:
- Legator N7FOD Ninja (multiscale)
- Sterling by Music Man MAJ170
The Mark Holcomb SE came really close to making the final comparison too, but I want something a bit more diverse since I already own a similar 6-string PRS model, I think.
I'm looking for a 7-string at around less than 1700 that feels smoother for technical playing and adds something worthwhile to my current roster.
Here's what's drawing me to each guitar, along with the things I'm unsure about.
Legator N7FOD Ninja:
- Multiscale yoohoo! Better tension on the lower strings, especially when drop tuning.
- The pickups are SEXY, seriously.
- The 14" fretboard radius sounds pretty curved to me, but I'm not entirely sure what to make of that for technical playing.
- One of the most beautiful extended-range guitars I've ever seen, and I've only managed to find one available to order.
- Stable fixed bridge; reliable.
Sterling MAJ170:
- Set-in neck, which I've heard gives better access to the higher frets. How noticeable is that in actual practice when playing lead? This is my biggest question
- Familiar straight fret layout and 16" radius
- The passive pickups are fine, but I don't wake up dreaming about them. I've seen quite a few reviewers swapping them for Duncans.
- The push-knob boost feature is pretty interesting
- Also one of the most beautiful extended-range guitars I've ever seen, and, again, I've only found one available to order
- Floating tremolo for more expressions when playing
One concern I've had about the Majesty is its shorter 25.5" scale compared with the Legator's multiscale. I've heard that can become an issue on the lowest string, especially with lower tunings, but how noticeable is it actually in practice? Is it a genuine problem? Cause I want my lower strings to be agile as well, so I don't want to thicken them up a lot. But I think thickening up the 7th string to have decent tension on the 25.5" scale wouldn't be a big problem.
What matters most to me is playability. I want something that feels smooth and comfortable for technical stuff, but even if you told me they have the same playability or even if you told me "x has better n than y" I still wouldn't know how to choose!
For anyone who's played either or, ideally both:
- Which has the more comfortable neck for technical playing?
- How noticeable is the difference in upper-fret access?
- Does the multiscale feel awkward during fast runs across strings, or does it become natural quickly?
- Which would you personally choose, and why?
I want to know what I'd miss out if I bought one over the other, and how impactful it'd be.
The Ninja is intriguing because it feels a bit more special and different from what I already own. But the Majesty is a Majesty.
I'd love to hear from actual owners, especially anyone who's spent time with both. Thanks!

Hello there! I am a student from the Silesian University of Technology. Me and some friends are actively designing and building a new type of modern guitar tube amps, which we plan on selling in the future. We haven't seen anything like this on the market, and we think that your community might get interested in this. Alas, for it to be as good as it can be, we need some data. Could you please take our quick survey? It would mean the world to us if you could spare some time to fill it. Thank you for your time!

I am looking for an acoustic guitar to buy but maybe something with a regular body type - i first discovered that there are dreadnoughts as well -however looking at this site below seems like most of the guitar are drednought anyways even the so called mini one. (like 90 percent of all guitars ) Is actually the drednought the more common type of an acoustic guitar? THe other type is just simply- acoustic type or what? Is there big difference in the sound?
All of those are dreadnought and many many others in this website

Hey y'all. Hope this is the right topic to be asking this guitar related questions.
So, I currently own a Boss GT-3, and my main problem is that I can't get a decent tone that I'm happy with. I've done some research, but still not 100% sure if it will be the case, of buying a newer multi-effects processor, Like the Valeton GP 200.
Everywhere I search about, it's says that the difference will be brutal, mostly because of my Boss having analog signal. While the Valeton for example, being fully digital. But the point is that I don't know a thing about frequencies, and such, so I just turn dials on it, until something sounds good. Maybe, it's just a case of learning to mess with what I currently have, instead of spending money, and continue failing to achieve a satisfactory result.
------
So far, I tried some methods:
1. Using the standard connection mode:
I was getting the sound a little muddy, so I tried the next one.
2. Using the 4-cable method, to connect everything together (guitar/pedal/amplifier):
The sound was way clear but still, I coundn't achieve a decent tone.
------
I think my setup is fairly good, so that may not be the problem, which led me to think it could be the GT-3. What I play is mostly heavy metal and metalcore.

I have a PRS Silver Sky.
I changed my strings about 2 weeks ago (using the same brand and gauge as my previous strings) and when I first strung up the guitar the strings felt greatāthey were slinky feeling and were a dream to bend; everything felt great.
2 weeks in however, they feel tight and difficult to bend. My neck relief is dialed in, intonation spot on.
Any ideas on why this change in feel might have happened?

I mean, what is there to say?
Well, this: I love this amp! I'm coming from a looong time away from Fender amps; for at least 2 years I've played a Vox AC30, Marshall Origin 50, and Marshall DSL40, never really feeling the need to get a Fender. Yeah, I had a Hot Rod Deluxe for a while, but it just sounded like a wimpy amp trying to punch above its weight with the drive channels to me. So, it was Vox for a bit, and then Marshalls as my go-to's for years! But, recently I started to winder "Why does everyone, bedroom players and legendary musicians, swear by clean oldschool Fenders? Twins, Deluxes, Princetons, I had just never tried any. Obviously, the moment I did, I was hooked- especially by the way the Twin takes my drive pedals. My Marshalls were great, but they compressed my drives and fuzzes so much that eventually just assumed that's how they were "supposed" to sound and settled. My stupid self didn't realize that more headroom doesn't just mean the amp stays clean at louder volumes- it also means that it doesn't immediately compress more gain and volume added! No more squashed distortion for me! Yeah, the Twin is a bit loud, a bit heavy, and a bit weird to dial in (especially for someone not used to Fender EQ quirks) but I'm already in love with this amp!

In your opinion, what brand makes the best custom guitars and why?
Any and all brands are fair game - whether they have a dedicated custom shop or they only do custom guitars.
I work at a music store (best job ever!) and we want to expand our custom section. We were kicking options around earlier today, but I can't solidify my list without asking y'all first...because this is obviously the most glorious communities on the whole wide interwebs! TIA!
Bonus invisible internet points for custom guitar pics - either yours or one you saved in your phone just because!
