Guild Any Kim Thayil/Soundgarden fans?
Sold my beloved 1981 Gibson Les Paul Standard today so I’m giving extra love to an incredible guitar that doesn’t break the bank and kicks all the ass. I like it better than my previously owned 1992 Gibson SG Standard. Kim Thayil is a legend and often underrated. His riffs just hit me to my core.

Guild Guild Starfire VI Special in Kingswood Green
Was told to post this here. Slept on Guilds for way too long and now I’m a believer. DeArmond Dynasonic pickups, Ebony fretboard, abalone inlays, bone nut, and gold hardware. She goes toe to toe with every other guitar I own.

Guild Guild Starfire ii
It's scorching here in the Midlands UK. So I sat in the garden in the shade playing this, and was pleasantly surprised at just how much the emerald green comes through in the sunshine. Normally it just looks a non-descript 'dark' colour.
This is a 1968 Starfire ii that had a bigsby attached at some point. The binding is coming away in places and it will probably need regretting/levelling soon, but it's the most satisfying guitar to play. The original pickups are great and neck is super smooth. Being hollow it's really light too.

Guild 1967 Guild Starfire IV - from my local shop
This is the oldest guitar that I've ever tried out, by far. Besides this, it was probably a 90s Strat. This thing is absolutely phenomenal! It's the best feeling guitar that I've ever played. It sounds really amazing too. I'm a big Soundgarden fan, and now I see why Guilds got used! I like it better than the Gibson ES-335 60s Block that I previously called the best sounding and feeling guitar. This is only $1525. It needs some work though. The tuners are really hard to turn, and there are several dead frets in the higher frets. The owner of the shop is a luthier and he said it just came in, so he's going to do a fret job on it and fix the tuners.
Maybe one day it will be mine!
