Live stream 9:16 with m1p?
I tried to stream on youtube today and it kept forcing the camera to 16:9 ratio. I want to stream vertical. How can I do this?

Hello! I’m doing an experiment where I would take the gopro hero 11’ and use it on my m12 25mm telefoto lens. It’s for my closeup paintball shots to see the paint splatter.
I wanted to know if anyone has tried removing the lens and sensor and install ur custom 3d print adapter for m12 sensors?

Hi all!
Here's a quick test of the PolarPro Mission 1 Close-Up Filter +2.
I was behind the GoPro, so the audio isn't great. I'm getting the M1P Media Mod tomorrow, so hopefully that'll give the audio quality a nice boost!
Hope this helps anyone curious about the new filters!

Bought my gopro hero session 4 for 16$ but the LCD is broken. I tried to connect it in the quik app but im stuck in the pairing part because i cannot see the pairing pin which is supposedly in the LCD. Is there a bypass or any other things to do

yoo guys, do you think renting a high-end 16mm lens like the Canon 8–64mm T2.4, just to use it with the ILS to recreate the 16mm, is it worth it, or is there anyone who tried something similar with the ILS

I ordered the GoPro ILS this week and along with it, I got myself the 7Artisans 25mm, TTartisan 40mm macro and this (10mm 7Artisans) lens.
Considering the crop factor I thought I should get this 10mm lens so I can film myself inside the car or inside my bed room.
But for some reason this product kept getting cancelled over and over again after placing the order and some thing tells me I should maybe steer clear 😅
So my question is, do I really need this 10mm 7Artisans lens? Considering the crop factor of the ILS. If I skip this and stick with the 7Artisans 25mm setup would I still be able to film myself inside a car or my bed room?
Thanks for reading this very confusing post 😂 🙏

I got my set of close-up filters today. The one I was really interested in was the +2 and that one is the only one I have tested so far. I doubt if I will even use the +0.5. The first part of the video is with no close-up lens on and the camera on a tripod about 24 inches (~60cm) from the center of the feeder. Next clip is with the +2 lens on and the camera moved to 12 inches (~30cm) from the center of the feeder. Last clip was shot in 4K240 and zoomed in post 1.5x to see how much detail was retained. Hopefully Reddit won't butcher the upload too badly. Hopefully I'll find something more interesting to shoot tomorrow on our hike. Link to 4K version - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whFazl8g01Y

Hi there,
I tried many cables with my hero 13 and max 2 and found that the cameras won't charge properly with them.
While the same cables work fine charging an iPhone.
Why GoPros are so capricious?

Hi everyone! I’ve been building RaceFX to simplify and speed up the process of creating telemetry-overlay race videos.
Why I built this: As a kart driver, I was tired of the slow, multi-step workflow required just to post a video: extracting footage with the GoPro app, overlaying HUD telemetry with RaceChrono, editing clips in a video editor, and finally uploading to YouTube. My ultimate goal with RaceFX is to handle all of this in a single app, with just one click. What it does currently:
RaceFX processes onboard racing footage directly in your browser. It detects the race/laps from GPS data and can generate: Full Race with HUD (Speed, current lap time, best lap, lap counter) Selected Laps Highlights Theoretical Lap Privacy & Performance: No upload needed: Your video stays on your device — no need to upload multi-GB footage to a server.
Desktop First: This initial version is web-based and optimized for desktop computers, where processing runs up to 4x faster. (An Android APK for mobile devices is currently in development). Looking for Beta Testers: I’m looking for people who record kart sessions with action cameras to test it with real footage.
🔗 Try the beta here: https://racefx-race-fx.vercel.app/
Any feedback on different cameras, browsers, performance, or anything that breaks would be extremely helpful!

I'm seeing that GoPro is selling the PolarPro diopters on their accessories page now. Makes me think we'll never see a macro lens mod directly from GoPro with autodetect the way the ND set GoPro created does.

How can you recover a video file recorded with a GoPro Hero 8, where the image freezes at a certain point and only the audio continues for the rest of the clip? If it's even possible.
Soooo annoying. Have to constantly uncheck it, and it keeps breaking my edits.
But worst part is when trying to connect to my gopro to download only parts of a video. It's long, but opening it takes 5-6 minutes, and it's slowmo and impossible to view. So I have to press the slowmo button, and wait 5-6 new minutes for it to load. And only then can I cut parts of it...

I'm looking into getting a new camera and I would like to shoot an eight k for horizontal videos. My dji osmo action adventure 6 supports eight k on horizontal , but I can only film for about half an hour before it overheats. So I'm looking into other options as well.Does the gopro max to allow for normal horizontal videos in eight k
I also , do you guys know what other gopro models support eight k? 4K videos tend to look really bad when I'm editing like they look grainy and not good.Meanwhile, 8K is super crisp. So that's why I prefer to shoot an eight k

I just got the ILS with these lenses:
TTartisan 40mm Macro
7 Artisans 25mm
7 Artisans 10mm
Out of these, only the 40mm macro actually goes over the recommended weight of 250g (GoPro’s recommended weight without lens support).
Do I need to get the small rig lens support or can I just shoot it without damaging the mount? I will not be mounting it anywhere (like a moving car for example) I will be shooting it handheld or tripod if anything.
Should I still get a lens support just in case to be on the safer side? Thanks in advance!

Can't we just reverse engineer the GoPros and make them support external mic via USB or anything? Ik it's dumb but has anyone tried it? I assume it's only a software limitation not the hardware.

Disclaimer: I'm not a professional camera reviewer. This is just my personal experience, not a scientific test. I may be wrong about some things, and your experience may differ.
I recently sold my DJI Action 6 and bought the GoPro Mission 1 Pro (€670), hoping for better image quality and finer detail.
I shoot with a Nikon Z6 II, DJI Mini 5 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and action cameras. I edit and color grade in DaVinci Resolve Studio.
I absolutely loved my DJI Action 6, but always found its image slightly too soft compared to my other cameras. After watching YouTube reviews, I expected the GoPro to be a significant upgrade.
Unfortunately, I was very disappointed.
Objects within roughly 0.7–5m look reasonably sharp, but distant trees, foliage, buildings, and landscapes become noticeably soft and mushy.
I've seen similar complaints on Reddit, including users reporting that GoPro Support described the lens as optimized for approximately 0.7–6m. I can't independently confirm that explanation, but it matches my experience.
My old DJI Action 6 captured distant details much better.
I normally shoot with minimum sharpening and denoising, then process the footage in DaVinci.
GoPro's Low Sharpness looks extremely soft, and I couldn't recover the detail properly in post. Medium looks better but introduces moiré on fine patterns. High is oversharpened.
Even at Medium, I found the microdetail disappointing compared to my iPhone's main 24mm camera. The GoPro's footage reminded me more of the iPhone's ultrawide camera.
Around 70cm is a serious limitation for close-up underwater filming. With my DJI, I loved getting right up close to fish and sea anemones.
The DJI battery seemed to last forever. I bought a spare and never needed it during a full day of my typical shooting.
The GoPro battery drained noticeably faster, although I didn't run a controlled test. It also became quite warm recording 4K60, even outdoors at 8–9°C.
I've also seen complaints about battery drain while the camera is switched off.
In low light, I repeatedly noticed small frame jumps with HyperSmooth On, similar to what I experienced years ago with my Hero 9. I didn't notice them with Turbo.
Final thoughts
The GoPro certainly has impressive specifications, and close-range detail can look good. But for almost twice the price of the DJI Action 6, I expected much more.
I wanted better microdetail, but ended up sacrificing too many things I liked about the DJI.
So I returned the GoPro and now I'm waiting for the DJI Action 7.
Has anyone else noticed the same loss of detail at longer distances?

GoPro has lauched a closeup filter set with 3 filters made by Polar Pro.
Focus distances are:
+0.5 diopter: 19.6in (50cm) to 59in (150cm)1
+1 diopter: 17.7in (45cm) to 35.4in (90cm)
+2 diopter: 11.8in (30cm) to 19.6in (50cm)2
I was hoping they would make an adjustable one, like DJI did for the Action 6. Still better than blurry closeups🙏🏻
