Gift suggestion I want to get the same Christmas gift for all my nieces and nephews. What would be a good item for ages 1-6?

• Upvotes

My aunt used to do this for me and my huge group of cousins. Examples of items she would gift us: a squishy pillow, a beanie, a duffel bag, etc. We always loved it and opened everything together. I have 5 nieces and nephews (4 girls, one boy... ages 1, 2, 3, 4, 6)

We're expecting a baby right before Christmas, and honestly, I just don't have the mental energy or budget atm to buy everybody a different special toy and make sure it gets to them. I'd like to make it a yearly tradition where they all get the same item (maybe a different color, model, custom name on it, etc.)

What would be a good unisex item that I can gift to all these ages?

ETA: I went ahead and ordered them all a nice fleece blanket with their name embroidered. Next year I'll probably do legos/duplo!

Need gift suggestions Wedding Gift Ideas for Couple With 7 Children

Title says it all. My cousin who has 5 kids from a previous marriage is getting married to a woman with 2 of her own, so their combined household will be 7 children ages roughly 3-12. They are not registered and when I asked my cousin if there's anything they need/want he said nothing specifically and to surprise him. I plan on mostly giving cash but I'd like to have a gift as well for them to open. Any suggestions on items that might make life easier for a household with 7 kids? I was thinking maybe an electronic wall calendar? Thank you Redditors!

Need gift suggestions-GF Is a handmade knitted pouch enough for my girlfriend's 20th birthday?

My (22M) girlfriend (turning 20F) has her birthday in under two weeks. We've been official for about two months now.

She's a pretty good knitter and she had so much fun teaching me the basics recently. I'm still very much a beginner. She's said she likes thoughtful gifts over expensive ones.

My plan:

A knitted drawstring jewellery pouch I'm making myself, in yarn that almost exactly matches a scarf she knitted for herself. I've noticed she leaves her jewellery lying around and doesn't anywhere to keep it.

Flower hair pins inside, which are almost identical to ones on her Pinterest board.

A handwritten note inside.

I also plan to take her out for the day, possibly a theatre show, and for dinner.

I'm worried that it's not "big" enough for a birthday, especially her 20th. I tend to overthink these things so wanted to ask if this a good gift, or should I add something? If so, what would you add?

Thanks!

Need gift suggestions Gift for someone who likes things that are "cool to own"

• Upvotes

It was my best friend's birthday recently and I want to get her something nice but I'm not sure what. The best idea I have to go off of is that her favourite gift she's ever been given is a crowbar because even if she has no use for it she finds it super cool to own so I wanted to ask if there was anything people could think of in that style of "cool to own" she might like (she's also big into roguelikes like binding of isaac too if that helps anyone)

No gifts

I do not understand why so many posts include “they say they want nothing” or “they can afford anything they’d want” yet people still ask the sub what gifts to give. Trust your friends and loved ones when they say they want/need nothing. Give nothing more than a handwritten note or a short outing with you. Please no more gifts that will go directly, and I mean directly, into the trash or donate pile.

Gift suggestion Is this suitable for a birthday gift or more birthday decoration?

I made this to give to my niece for her birthday but now I'm not sure if it is more something you would have out as decoration instead of it being an actual gift. What do you guys think?

Need gift suggestions-father Birthday present for my dad (49 y/o)

• Upvotes

My dad's birthday is coming up on November 1st, and we have no idea what to get him. He has everything.

He has legos, pocket knives, wallets, bracelets (personalised), clothes, winter clothes, shoes, books, tools, power tools,... everything. We also can't gift him "experiences" as he never knows when he gets sent on business trips. Any ideas??? Please!!

He also doesn't drink or smoke, so any glasses, bottles, lighters etc. Don't work either

Gift suggestion Think I nailed a jewelry gift for my girlfriend!!!

My gf asked for a necklace for her birthday and as I always see her, and my sisters too, wearing a bunch of them together, I decided to go to a store and actually buy a few together and it worked!!

She said she loved them at first but I only believed it when she started to wear them constantly so shout out to the 2 girls working at the Gorjana store, they helped a lot!! I facetimed my sisters so they could see and the girls at the store ended up talking to them and showing like hundreds of options so they all pitched in to make me bf of the year lol

Need gift suggestions Gift ideas for my gifted, autistic, extremely nerdy almost-11-year-old? Sharing my current list and looking for more unusual finds!

I am 34F, a single gamer mom who shares many special interests with my son. I feel like the 10-11 yo age range is especially hard to buy for, and that most guides for boys this age skew towards sports and clothing, both of which he could care less about. This post is both a list of things I’ve already purchased and a request for more ideas.

My son is 10, turning 11, gifted, on the autism spectrum, and an absolutely delightful little nerd. I’m putting together his birthday and Christmas gifts, and I’d love recommendations from people who share his interests or have similarly nerdy kids.

He’s particularly obsessed with The Legend of Zelda, Stardew Valley, Pokémon, Steven Universe, Studio Ghibli, Spy × Family, Delicious in Dungeon, Minecraft, Kirby, Astrobot, cats in general, and Slime Rancher.

He’s intellectually curious, loves immersive fictional worlds, and gets incredibly excited about the little details of his favorite franchises.

I am very lucky to be able to go big at his birthday (end of Nov) and Christmas.

Here’s what I’ve already purchased:
-custom Hestu plush commission
-Mineru Construct amiibo
-LoZ Ocarina of Time amiibo
-Minecraft cat light
-Breath of the Wild treasure chest light
-Steven Universe jacket
-Slime Rancher collectibles from Youtooz
-Zelda-themed Pro Controller
-Electronic ocarina
-Korok plush
-Hestu and Korok embroidered sweatshirt
-LEGO final battle set between Link and Ganondorf
-Video game soundtrack vinyl records from Astrobot, Slime Rancher, Hollow Knight, Little Kitty Big City

I’m looking for recommendations that go beyond the obvious merchandise.

Think obscure collectibles, Japanese imports, beautiful art books, artisan-made fandom items, elaborate building sets, interesting electronics, unusual musical instruments, intricate puzzles, or anything that would absolutely blow the mind of a nerdy 11-year-old.

I’m especially interested in items that feel special, beautifully crafted, or difficult to find. I love supporting independent artists and small creators, too.

Budget is extremely flexible. I’m not particularly concerned about the price of individual gifts, provided they’re genuinely worthwhile. I’m also not into luxury for luxury’s sales I’m much more interested in finding extraordinary things than accumulating a mountain of generic merchandise.

I’m also very open to introducing him to entirely new hobbies, franchises, and interests that might appeal to a bright, imaginative kid who loves fantasy, gaming, and worldbuilding.
If you were this kid, what would be on your ultimate birthday or Christmas wishlist?

I’d especially love suggestions from adult Zelda fans, collectors, fellow autistic nerds, and parents of gifted kids who might know about some hidden gems I’ve overlooked!

Need gift suggestions-sister What to get for teen sister?

Ok so I (21NB) kinda grew up not liking the typical girl stuff nor was I really social or interested in seeing what was currently popular. I struggle with this every year but I have no idea what teens like rn. I need to get my younger sister (14F) something and Im completely lost. Both her birthday and Christmas are coming up. She loves basketball, I think makeup, she liked needohs for a little bit, and has a small collection of Lego cars. But she doesn't really have a specific interest so I'm struggling 😭 What do teens even like nowadays?

My sister made me a personalised deck of cards when I moved overseas. It's now her business.

Post image
32 Upvotes

Bit of a different post, but it's that time of year.

When I was living overseas my sister Mia made me a deck of playing cards with photos on it. Just a one-off for her brother. That deck turned into Mimies, her business. She runs it now with our sisters.

So yeah, I'm biased. But I've been on the receiving end while living away, so here's what I reckon if you're sorting a gift for someone overseas:

Send something from home they can't just go buy where they are. Gift cards are fine but they don't land the same.

Make it something they'll use with other people. When you're new somewhere you're meeting people constantly, and a deck of cards is an easy "come round" thing.

Keep it small. Posting stuff overseas is brutal and anything big or fragile is a pain.

Put an inside joke on it. Mia reckons about a quarter of the decks she makes have one on the back. The ones you'd never explain to anyone else.

Not dropping a link, it's not that kind of post. Happy to answer questions about the cards or about gifting for someone overseas.

Pic is the family deck, the one she made me first.

Gift suggestion Would you gift something like this to your girlfriend? 🎁💗

Hey everyone! 💗
I run a small gifting business called Suviya, where we create customised gift hampers according to your preferences and budget.
This is one of the customised gift boxes we put together, featuring perfumes, jewellery, accessories, chocolates and cute little details, all arranged in a personalised box. 🎀
The idea is to make gifting more personal rather than just buying a random gift from a store.
I wanted to ask you all honestly:
Would you gift something like this to your girlfriend, sister or best friend?
What would you add or change in this hamper?
Would you prefer choosing every product yourself or buying a ready-made hamper?
I’m genuinely looking for honest opinions because we’re a small business and every bit of feedback helps us improve. 🥹❤️
If anyone is interested, we also customise hampers based on their budget and the occasion!

She’s 23 and has said every now and again that she would want a mini fridge it would be for just drinks maybe some snacks occasionally but are mini fridges any good?

Besides that I truly don’t know what to get her, she has zero interests and is so hard to shop for, with my other sister I have a few ideas but like what do you get someone who doesn’t have any interests ??

I just got engaged and this is the ring my partner chose for me. I honestly think it’s one of the prettiest rings I’ve seen. It has a dutch marquise shaped diamond and I absolutely love the shape.

What do you guys think of it?

Need gift suggestions-female friend Looking for thoughtful, zero/low-cost birthday ideas for a close peer who is stressed and unemployed

Hi everyone,

My close peer's birthday is coming up next week, and she’s currently going through a really tough, demotivating patch while looking for a job. Because of the stress, she has explicitly said she doesn’t want any gifts.

I completely respect her boundary, but I still want to make her birthday feel memorable, comforting, and special so she knows she's valued, without making her feel awkward or adding any financial pressure.

Since traditional gifts are out, I’m looking for creative, meaningful, or comforting ideas to celebrate her. What are some of the most thoughtful, low-cost ways you’ve celebrated someone who was going through a rough professional season?

Would love any suggestions for experiences, small gestures, or thoughtful surprises that lift the spirit without feeling heavy. Thanks in advance!
