Question Concerning 'third spaces'
As I am aware Georgism advocates for a land value tax, held in respect to approximations of land value in respect to selling/buying of property in the area.
My concern here is that this may denegrate land uses which improve an area and implicitly increase the value of the area but are valued in having no or weak monetisation.
For example suppose an excellent general access but private park- it increases the exchange value of surrounding properties since it increases the pleasantness of the location, but in itself having no purpose of revenue and equally hit by the land value tax will find itself in strong difficulty of funds despite the virtuous and generous disposition of the land use, as it increases it's own taxes by it's own excellence.
The addition of monetisation is delirious to excellent parks and so to is public beggery for they both bring the mind unto money and away from the tranquility desired of the park to begin with.
Could one reckon a fair bandage to this criticism for me?
