the twitter thread from zoink today was a little cringe but not really the end of the world, meanwhile apparently the other thread ended up having people legitimately wishing him harm which is exponentially more upsetting than anything he actually said

of course he isn't immune to criticism, but an issue with this community a lot of the time is that there isn't any genuine 'criticism,' instead it's a lot of weirdly parasocial behavior toward all these top players that none of us actually know personally

like there are people that have this passionate hate for zoink and others who will gladly wear their keyboard to shreds defending him, when in reality he's just a guy who's good at a popular video game and has highly emotional reactions sometimes

That "Zoink vs. Trick" drama a few weeks ago really stumped his reputation because people are now saying random stuff and associating it with ego, which is clearly a way different context than what Trick meant.
