Discussion More big pineapple guava

My pineapple guava tree (feijoa) continues to produce fruit at least 2x as big as previous years! And sweetness & flavor are excellent. This is what i did differently;

- I used a granular citrus fertilizer (had never fertalized it before) was told it was good for feijoa.

- Regular water! Especially when it starts flowering and during hot dry summer months

- I pruned it for the first time ever once it started fruiting, creating more space between fruit, so they would grow larger.

There are several feijoa trees in my neighborhood and i was told that may have helped with pollination?

Edibility / Problem Fungus? Safe to eat? Seed growth?

Hey everyone, I’ve eaten apples all my life and for the first time have come across this. Does anyone know what it is? It came from near the center of the apple (honeycrisp), and looks really gross - reminds me of cordysceps from The Last of Us. Does anybody have insight into what this might be? I’m probably going to eat everything else I cut around that thing, but I am going to be questioning every bite (not in the position to waste food right now). If the zombie outbreak starts you know who started it. For the record, this wasn’t the end/bottom of the apple, but from the center. The bottom of the apple is the cut right next to it. What the hell is this?

It’s creeping me out.

Fruit ID Help What kind of dates are these?

I got these little plastic tubs of dates on the coast at an Asian market, they had no name, only a price of 4.99$ each. They taste a little like mission figs, with the scent of brown sugar. The pits are small and hard.

It’s not crunchy like a typical Asian green mango. But it is very sour like one. Yet also sweet? But the flesh is soft.

Edibility / Problem Can I still eat the ok parts?

Thumbnail

Cut open a pomegranate for the first time today and it was partially rotten :(

Some parts still look perfectly ok though, and I'm going to throw this one out but just for future reference, are the parts that look unaffected still fine to eat? I don't think there was actually any mold anywhere, just a lot of brown and blacked parts. It also smells totally fine.

-EDIT: I ate it and I've felt perfectly fine since, and it's been a couple days ^ I just followed everyone's advice and split only the good parts into a bowl and rinsed it out with water :) Thank you to everyone who helped!!

Discussion Nothing like a good peach

Post image

After a breakfast of overnight oats with bananas and blueberries, eggs and chicken sausage, I'm having a peach.

What fruit tastes the best to you and why?

I like peaches because they have a not too soft texture with a fuzzy skin and they're sweet with a touch of tart.

Edibility / Problem Why is my mouth bleeding after eating kiwis?

Hi, I've had kiwis like one other time, but I just ate 2 in the span of 5 hours since I woke up(Like a 3 hour break in between) and now my tongue, upper mouth, and lips ar sore/bleeding. My lips bleeding could be explained because I have dry lips but they were not like bleeding-level dry before I ate the kiwi and they still aren't but after I ate the second kiwi my tongue and lip started to bleed and my tongues red and stuff and bleeding. I'm not alergic to anything and the kiwis weren't to ripe or too old so they shouldn't be having any problems but idk. My mouth was hurting after the first kiwi but wasnt bleeding but now it is. So I don't think I should have a third kiwi but theyre really good and they have to be my like third favorite fruit now besides strawberries and ornages now. If eating kiwis and this happens is normal can someone tell me tyty!!
