Demon’s Souls or Dark Souls 2?
I’m always back and forth on this one. Which one do you prefer and why?

Hi, newer souls player here. Ive figured it’s about time I got around to playing the Dark Souls trilogy, so I’ve been looking for the best way to experience ds1. Ive heard that the remaster generally isnt well liked and Prepare to Die Edition is often said to be the best version (at least from my research), and I do have a 360 to run it on, but when looking for copies on eBay and what not their all usually $100+. Is the remaster really that much worse, or is it fine to just go ahead and buy it? What specifically is good or bad about either versions? Just thought I’d ask.

elden ring is almost five years old now, and i’ve been wondering what we can realistically expect from fromsoftware next.
we’ve had shadow of the erdtree, elden ring: nightreign, and now the duskbloods. while both nightreign and the duskbloods explore more multiplayer-focused experiences, i’m particularly curious about what’s next for their traditional single-player soulsborne games.
after elden ring, where do you even go from here? they’ve created such a massive world, with an incredible amount of exploration, lore, environments and build variety. do they go even bigger, or would you rather see them return to something more compact and interconnected, like dark souls or bloodborne?
i’m also curious about the creative direction they could take.
what kind of setting, mythology, aesthetic or atmosphere would you guys like to see in their next game?
personally, i’d love another heavily gothic-inspired world. something with the atmosphere of bloodborne, perhaps drawing from gothic literature, victorian architecture, religious imagery and european folklore. although, with the duskbloods exploring some similar visual territory, i wonder whether they’ll want to explore something completely different.
i’d love to hear the community thoughts:
what do you think their next proper single-player soulsborne game will be?
do you expect something entirely new, another established ip, or perhaps a return to an older formula?
what kind of world, mythology or aesthetic would you personally love them to explore?
i’m genuinely curious about where miyazaki and fromsoftware take things next.

TLDR: DeS -So I have 2 Secret Daggers with 0 games complete. Anyone else experience something similar?
\---
I killed 3-1 boss, didn't rescue Sage Guy nor open the cell to the Secret Dagger, and then farmed 4-2 for bladestone chunks.
When I opened inventory in 4-2, there was a Secret Dagger. I thought, "I dont remember picking that up," and put it in storage.
Anyway, I went back to 3-1 to rescue Sage Guy and past by the cell with Secret Dagger. I opened it and picked it up, so now I have two?
Anyone else happen to have a 2nd item when they should only have 1?

Hi everyone , playing Demon's Souls as my 1st soulsborne game & have put 16hrs by now & defeated only 1 Boss ( Phalanx : world 1-1 )....
Didn't want to deal with 'cos I genuinely felt underlevelled for this Boss & almost struggled everywhere..

bloodborne should be y'all's favourite game or you shouldnt call yourself a souls fan lol, you guys suck so bad and keep milking greyslop or mid souls 2 to tickle your pickle but in reality ur afraid to play games meant for men, games meant for someone with testosterone, games which dont let you win by spamming r1, y'all still have time to change and upgrade your taste before its too late...........

So I recently went on a road trip across Japan to make a video on all the places that inspired Sekiro. Not much context in these pics obviously but the game is full of all kinds of inspirations and ideas from Japan’s history and mythology, so if you’re interested, definitely check it out. I also missed out a lot so maybe this ignores a wider discussion on all the lore that went into the game. It’s on Midnight Kotatsu on YouTube. Thanks!

Games like Phantom Blade Zero and Onimusha have me wondering whether developers are starting to focus more on making combat challenging yet accessible, rather than brutally difficult like traditional Soulslike games.
Personally, I feel like there’s a growing audience for games that let you enjoy the combat, story, visuals, and overall experience without having to spend hours mastering one boss fight. A game can still be deep, rewarding, and skill-based without being punishing.
I’m curious about what you guys think:
Are you enjoying this direction, or do you prefer the unforgiving difficulty of Soulslike games?
Do you prefer games that challenge your skills or games that let you sit back, enjoy the experience, and have fun with satisfying combat?
Do you think developers are starting to move away from the Soulslike formula, or is this just another trend?
Can a game be genuinely challenging and rewarding without being brutally difficult?
What’s your take? Are we finally moving toward games that prioritize fun and the overall experience, or is the difficulty of Soulslikes a big part of what makes gaming rewarding in the first place?

Some prints I picked at comic-con this weekend. Can't wait to frame them. Original artwork by Jonathan Elliott. Super talented dude.

Not sure if this is anything more than an Easter egg in the game but I did a double take when I first saw them.

I finally found those art books during my Japan travel! Can't wait to see the art. I bought them based on the recommendations of r/fromsoftware so thanks
