Hazelnut M&Ms from scratch!

I made M&Ms from scratch (including making the bean to bar (or bean to ball!) chocolate). The chocolate was made with a Premier wet grinder, and the panning layers were done with a KitchenAid "snackcoater" attachment.

Wow, that must have taken you a century! Do you have a machine to coat the balls?

They look delicious!

Yeah, I used this attachment on a kitchenaid:

They don't suggest you can do shell coatings with it, but with the right recipe and a fan blowing air into the drum, it works pretty well!

But yeah, the coating takes foreverrrr, I must have added over 100 layers to the drum to make these, and you have to wait between each one! I did the coatings over 2 days. And making the chocolate itself also takes around 24 hours for a batch (although most of that time is hands off at least!)

Oof, kitchen aid gadgets can get pricey, but still cool nonetheless! Thanks for sharing.

I saw an episode of tasting history where Max makes sugar plums using the same kind of process.

Would you say it is worth it? The machine takes a lot of the physical element away from production, so i imagine it could be worth while, just a waiting game.
