Hey, 23m, from the uk and im in need of some friends. I get very bored and lonely recently because lots of my friends are working and at uni, so there hasn't been many plans, so id love people to talk to. I'm not sure how to start describing myself, I'm not great with words but I'll try my best.

(I'm so sorry for the extremely long post ahead!)

I apologize if I don't reply to your message, but I don't reply to short/low effort messages, stuff like "hey, let's be friends" , "I didn't read your whole post but I'm up to talk" , etc. I want to hear about you, what you like, what you're interested in. I like meaningful conversations. I also don't reply to people that don't have much in common with me, I would like to find someone that's similar to me and has similar interests and likes. I'm sorry but even if your message is long, if we don't have anything in common it's just not what I'm looking for. I'm also not interested in people that aren't looking for a real connection and are just looking to pass the time or have a light chat.

I think some of my most defining characteristics are that I'm very shy, awkward, "weird" and "different" or at the very least I feel weird, different and often misunderstood. I struggle to function most days and I don't always understand societal norms or how to properly function in society. I am very ignorant about many things in life, I'd say I'm somewhat innocent and naive and I still don't understand my purpose in life.

I sometimes say things that offend people or I say things that are wrong. Sometimes I don't completely understand what I do wrong but I don't do it on purpose and I try to improve to the best of my abilities.

I don't go out often at all. Touching grass isn't for me 😭 Whenever I do go out it's only to buy groceries or to go to school and such but I don't enjoy it, I much rather be at home, in my room most specifically, which is my favorite place in the world.

I don't have any IRL friends but I do have a handful of online friends, I'm not super close to any of them, except for one who's very valuable in my life!

I enjoy many things like sculpting for instance! I do digital sculpting for fun. I'm pretty bad at it but I try my best.

This year I also started jewelry school (yeah, that's a thing) and I'm having fun with it but it's another thing I suck at 🥀🥀🥀

I like to watch anime! my favorites change from time to time but I really like Bleach, Dragon Ball, Demon Slayer, AOT, Naruto, Ancient Magus Bride (I really love this show!) and I LOVE My Hero Academia among many others!

I like all kinds of music, I don't really have any artists that I like in particular other than David Bowie and I like to listen to most genres of music but some of the genres I like the most are alternative, vintage, video game music and jpop and jrock and I also like old VK And I'm always happy and open to new suggestions!

I like to doomscroll through TT and to watch long essay style videos on YT about random topics. I love brainrot and I'm very much into early to mid 2010s aesthetics. I miss that era so much!! Seriously, the early 2010s were the greatest time in human history kahdhshdhs

I love video games!! I don't play too many modern AAA games, especially nowadays with how bad the video game industry is but I LOVE indie games!! Some of my favorites are indies like Spelunky my beloved 🖤 I also really like older stuff, like, ps2 era games, particularly survival horror stuff. I also really like very old platform games and side scrollers. I'm a pretty huge Sonic the Hedgehog fan!! The most recent games I played were Sonic X Shadow Generations and before that I finished Sonic Superstars and Sonic Frontiers. Sonic Boom is also my favorite show ever made lmao. It fits my kind of humor perfectly and it's peak comedy imo. I'd be open to play anything and I'd love to try co op games with someone!! playing Stardew Valley with a friend is a dream of mine lol (if you also play Stardew please tell me who's your wife/husband)

I adore animals!! I have cats and dogs and a stray chicken lol they're my babies and my world!

I think it's important to mention some of the things I don't like too.

I don't like cruelty or mean spirited people, I hate I people in positions of power that use said power to affect other people, animals, or the environment for their own gain.

I hate bugs!! I'm deadly afraid of them!!

I really dislike conflict and arguments, I believe we can disagree and have discussions as long as we're calm and civilized about it and as long as we have respect for each other and try our best to understand the other person's point of view.

lastly I'd like to mention some of my defects and shortcomings.

I'm extremely anxious, I'm always very nervous about one thing or another, I'm also extremely weak of mind, I tend to react with my feelings a lot and I'm often very emotional.

I can be very selfish at times, I have an awful tendency to get bored of things quickly and sometimes I also get bored of conversations and people.

I think I'm immature.

I can be extremely lazy, I struggle a lot with doing basic things like cleaning or cooking. when I'm anxious or afraid I can get paralyzed with fear and stay in bed all day doing nothing feeling awful about it.

As I mentioned before sometimes I can say bad things without realizing. I'm very dumb and ignorant so I promise I don't mean anything bad I say and I'm trying to improve!

I am extremely annoying. I'm very loud and I think I scream a lot. I don't really understand what constitutes screaming exactly but I think I often raise my voice a lot and especially when I'm excited I can't control myself very well.

I'm very afraid of life and I don't understand how the "real world" works exactly. I'm really bad at small talk and I think I'm really bad at speaking in general, I also digress a lot.

I have the bad habit of not replying very fast, sometimes I'll even wait for weeks or even months, I think it's one of my biggest problems when it comes to keep in touch with people, sometimes it's simply because I don't have the energy, other times it's because I'm not sure about how to continue a conversation. Not sure if this is a defect necessarily but I also never send the first message, I just hate to be annoying.

I have a tendency to ghost people for different reasons. As I mentioned, sometimes I get bored of conversations or people and I'd ghost them. This is by far one of my biggest defects and as I said, I wanna be honest and mention it here for everyone who reads this to know.

I tend to be a bit clingy when I like someone.

I'm full of defects in general, and I do believe I'm a bad person. I try to improve and I try my best but if I'm bad for you in any way or a burden I promise to stop talking to you and not bother you!

I have many other defects but I think those are the main ones I can remember right now.

Finally, I'd like to reiterate that I'm looking for is a real connection with someone, a person I can talk to, have fun with, watch stuff with and play games together! I think I can be a very passionate person when it comes to the things I love and I'd like to find someone that shares that passion and love with common interests. I wanna be able to share our days and even be able to help each other and be there when we need each other. I know I'm a mess of a human being and I'm looking for a very specific close bond with someone which I think I'll never honestly find but I'll keep trying cause I hate to give up!! And you honestly never know :)

Another thing that's important is that I don't want to talk to people that are discriminatory or awful in anyway.

So, I currently love by myself and I moved to a new city where I have no friend around. For years, I have been working on project like rockets, drones, mechanics and software.

I like to teach some things new to my friends and loved ones. I like to share and talk and I am always open to discuss. I like having international friends and I would like to meet.

I’ve known my friend for a long time. We used to be able to connect on a deeply, and she has helped me through tough times.

But in the past years, I don’t feel safe enough to share my life stories or shameful secrets. Mainly because I feel so behind on certain aspects and I don’t want to rain on her parade. Hypothetically, it feels like celebrating your friend’s baby shower while you just had a miscarriage.

I’ve also suggested new things only to be shutdown. Yet after some time, she will say that she tried the same thing another friend recommended her and loved it. It sucks to know my opinions are not valued.

Regardless, I value the time we spent (or maybe it’s just sunk cost fallacy?). I also want to prove to myself I can maintain long terms friendships. But I’m left with a sour taste in my mouth or cry after we meet (and we meet only a few times a year). What to do?

Hii i would love to meet new ppl and make new friends, im someone with diverse interests and hobbies, my main ones tho are art (writing, drawing, painting tho i got into digital), cooking, swimming, video games(my first game was tomb raider when i was only3yo) and CATS(yeah i consider cats a hobby atp)

Hmm what else i would want someone around my age preferably someone who would introduce themselves not just say hi, and maybe someone who wants to become study partners

Friends, Sinfield, How I met your Mother, growing up watching early 2000s sitcoms really misrepresented what friendships as an adult would be like. During college, I worked full-time and during grad school, I added assistantships to also working and there never was time to develop friendships. I moved states multiple times in my early career to chase advancements. By the time I had reached a comfortable place in my career, COVID happened. Now I’m established, comfortable, married with a child, but am really missing the social and friendship component in life. Not to sound like a kid, but I’d really like a best friend or a few.

I’m 40, male. I like going to baseball games, camping, hiking, playing board games and Lorcana. When I was in my early 20s I hung out with the LGBTQ crowd and am really comfortable there. I’d like to workout, but currently don’t. I’m pretty laid back and like to text throughout the day, so I’m also good for passing time that way. I’m just throwing myself out there and looking for anyone else who may be seeking the same thing.

“Please introduce yourself.”

Probably one of the hardest questions during interviews. It’s easy to say, “I’m blah blah, 26, from somewhere in the world,” then list your achievements, skills, and experiences. Funny how that generic answer is already programmed in my head.

But if I ask myself who I really am, the answer gets a little harder. I’m a mess, but I’m a good daughter. Or at least, I’m trying to be. Am I a good person? I’d like to think so. Do I get angry? I do. Am I reasonable? Most of the time, probably not. I’m just one person among billions, trying to survive one day at a time.

Sometimes I wonder how everyone else is doing too. Did someone celebrate something today? Get a promotion? Or maybe simply enjoy their favorite food after a long day. Some people are at the top of the world, while others are barely holding on. We rarely know which is which. So, I guess, let’s be kind. Be the person we’d want to meet on a difficult day.

Anyway, that’s me. A 26 year old still figuring things out.
