[paragnosis.net] [2000/2010s] horror forum I remember from the early 2010s

I recently remembered a website I used to visit a couple times years ago and figured I'd try asking here, since Google hasn't been much help. plus you need 250 karma for r/lostmedia and i don't use reddit that much. The name I remember is Paragnosis.net, though I'm not 100% sure about the URL.

It was a pretty niche message board dedicated to paranormal stuff and internet horror. Not a huge community, but active enough that you could stumble across some surprisingly long discussions. People posted weird fiction horror stories alongside strange things they'd witnessed, local legends, etc. I liked that nobody seemed to agree on what the forum was actually for. The website background was grey with a cyan or turquoise HUD.

I vaguely remember a story about a group of people staying in a makeshift shelter in the woods, only for it to be found wrecked a few days later. There was some detail about the wood itself that made the whole thing stick in my head, but I can't remember what it was. I also remember a discussion about a picture someone took during a camping trip. I think it was a balding bear or something similar.

I have no idea when the site disappeared. I only realized it was gone like 5 years ago when I tried looking for it again, and even then I couldn't find much about why it closed. It's odd because I remember spending quite a bit of time reading there, but I can't find anyone talking about it now. Now I'm wondering if it was a bot playground like r/SubredditSimulator, but it was pretty convincing.

Was anyone else around on Paragnosis? I'd love to know if the forum was archived, if someone saved any of the discussions, or if I'm remembering the name wrong entirely.

Sorry for for the lack of details, it was a while back. but thought I'd ask.

[Logan.com] [unreleased media]

A few years ago, my friends and I searched for Logan.com and stumbled across a really strange website. I still remember how weird it was, but I’ve never figured out what was actually behind it.

Does anyone else remember this website or know what it was about?

I want to investigate it again and see if we can uncover its history, what it used to contain, and why it was so strange.

The fact we can only use the Wayback Machine to investigate it. No other archives or sources.

If you remember anything about Logan.com, or if you’re good at digging through old websites, give it a try. Let’s see if we can figure out what was really going on.

Does anybody remember a website called SublimeDirectory.com? If so, do you recall their ORIGINAL "Urban Dictionary" and any, or all, of it's content?

I've been trying to find it for years!!

Looks like it was formatted in 2007 at the latest, and still has his whole blog that he wrote from when he was filming Lord of The Rings (under 'writings')

I found this website on the back of a pc game booklet. I've been researching the site and came up empty-handed. Has anyone ever been to this site before and if so what was it? Thanks in advance for the help!

A online vintage photo booth that lives entirely in your browser

Found (and made) this quiet little tool:

Old TIMES lets you create vintage-style photo strips right in your browser. You can use your camera or upload photos, add film effects, doodles, and notes, then download the result.

No account, no uploads while creating — everything stays local until you decide to save.

Feels like a small digital photo booth you can carry around.

Has anyone seen this "LC" before?

I'm trying to find a way to get in touch with an old friend of mine (from 2018).

The only thing I have is this screenshot showing her nickname from a site with "LC" in the name.

I'd bet it's a site like Tumblr, DeviantArt, or something similar.

can someone help me find this website?

ive been lookign all over for a while now and i havent been able to find it so im turning to reddit for help. basically, i remember being a kid using this website in science class in the late 2000s. i lived in the middle east so that meant i had alot of early 2000s stuff slash content provided for kids my age. i think it was like 2015-2017 something like that when i played the game. all i remember was that it had some sort of "spooky" or alien-ish background music. the whole point of the website was to match these aliens to their natural habitat, i guess as a way of learning where and why animals live in the places they do. the website or game involved monsters or aliens with a little description of what kind of climate they live in, if i matched them incorrectly they'd die. i think this was an archive educational game or some shit. someone please help me find it

Anyone remember boysweekend?

I found this site quite a few years ago. It's maybe one of the most wholesome things I've ever found on the internet, it's a blog about a group of friends who got together in the fall and winter every year for a boys weekend. Each trip has its own summary written about it.

I tried searching for it maybe a year ago and the site was gone and didnt think till this week to put it in wayback machine which most of it is luckily archived on.

Forgotten website that looked like blogs but for kids

Hey! Sorry in advance for my english lmao

I was talking with a friend that I have since kindergarten and we remembered something like a game or a website that was similar to MySpace or Skyblog but for kids, we're 22 now it was ages ago sry not much memories of it.

All I can say it's that almost everything was customisable to a certain extent to let it easy for kids to customise. The colours were kinda pastels? I remember it like that at least.

I remember a column at the left with tons of questions to answer about yourself maybe like some fun facts or favourite songs, I remember struggling to answer what was my favourite animal lmao.

The column at the right was smaller with smth I think was little activities or something, an ad still on the right column that was always there but not for generic things like on tv, I think it was for a game or a website or some ad that would make the kid click I'm not sure if it was really an add but I remember that rectangle and not wanting to click lol

The columns were like a layer over the theme (that u could change) of the page, the middle was customisable (not coding tho) I remember adding and removing things in the middle.

The style of the site was very pastel tho and it was not based on a game it was really just a page like a big profile with some activities and a search bar (maybe for friends).

If it can help I think I was 8 or something, maybe 9 I don't remember (I'm a 04) but I really think I was more than 8 but still young enough to not really remember it now

I tried my best but I don't really have a good vocabulary in english sorry I repeat a lot of words xD maybe ask me to clarify some things if you don't understand

Boulevard Mall website circa 2004

Thumbnail boulevard-mall.com

This is a website I stumbled upon while looking up old dead malls in upstate NY. I came across an old blog about some dead and dying malls, and by chance clicked this link which I assumed would be dead.

It's not dead.

This site, with a last updated copyright date of 2004, is somehow lingering on and being hosted. Everything except, sadly, for the mall directory seems to be intact. We have:

  • List of restaurants with period appropriate logos.
  • Hand drawn map to the mall with a link to mapquest.
  • "Current events" including one that's referencing American Idol.
  • "Red carpet" mall services including "Mall Fax/Copy Services," "Telephone line to area taxis", "postage stamp machine" and "Automatic Teller Machines."

I have no idea how this still exists. It's fantastic.

Early memories of the internet

I imagine there are people of widely varying ages in this sub—people who started using the internet at different times and at different ages. What are your earliest memories of the internet? What were the first sites you stumbled upon, and which ones did you visit most often? Let's hear what everyone has to say!
