Recent bought this for 720$. 138k on odometer. Runs and clutch engages, just can't brake. Trucks been in new England its whole life so it has some obvious rust, but no holes in frame. Leaf spring hanger broke and looks like the brake line on the rear right drum snagged on something and got ripped off. Minor coolant leak coming by radiator, previous owner think its the radiator. Engine runs fine though and no milky oil. Never done brake lines so this is a first. Any help for parts or working on it would be appreciated šŸ‘. Proud to be a fellow ranger owner.

I have to sell my favorite truck and my first truck. It’s a 1999 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4 250,000 miles new transmission @ 100,000 miles and every thing runs great. I’m selling it for $4800 this weekend is that too little should I ask for more? Let me know to me this truck is priceless. How much are they going for?

So I made a post not that long about about wanting to get a level kit to raise the front to be level with the rear. But I’ve also been on the fence about a 4in lift kit. As I do take my Ranger offroading despite how nice the paint is. I need opinions. Level kit? Or lift kit? As it’s currently stock ofc.

I’ve had my Ranger for about 2 months now and I’m still stumped on what this switch could possibly be

1983 2.3 cold air intake

Since nobody makes any intake systems for 1 barrel carb I’m printing an intake for it so far I have the carb hat done and some tubing. Waiting on a filter housing to complete the intake. And yes I’m using high temp filament

Should I do this all by myself or just runnn it. 158k paid $1700

What do you guys think of my buddy’s ranger?

The black one, has the 2.9L V6, 5speed 2WD. I believe it’s a 1988, and this is the only picture I could find of it. And to admit, I’m kinda jealous. Except for its red interior. Hey! I’ve never really been a fan of the red interiors from back then.

Forgot to add, he got it for very cheap. I don’t remember how much. But it’s because it was sitting under a tarp parked on a farm for years so it did come with its issues.

Thought id cracked my block. 94 Ranger 3.0

So to start off I am active army, I went home on leave last December and bought the truck off my cousin which he had been driving for the last 6 months no problem after he changed the torque converter. Not even 20 minutes into my first drive it over heats and blows a head gasket in a construction zone and there’s not a single emergency pull off, so I have to thug it out. Turns out the belt tensioner went bad. I call my cousin he calls a tow truck, while waiting for said tow truck a semi driver ig fell asleep or nodded off for a second and hits the shoulder wakes up and drives past my truck in the grass. Tow truck picks my truck up drops it at my cousins, he offers me my money back I said no I love the truck it’s just a head gasket we can fix it. Fast forward 7 months I’m on leave again to put it back together and drive it back to base. We get it all together and it’s just blowig coolant out the radiator as soon as you crank it over so obviously something’s wrong and I have to leave to go back truck less. Fast forward 3 months he called me two nights ago and says ā€œI’m sitting here looking at the rangerā€ at this point it was gonna be his truck he was gonna buy it back for what I paid for it. Well he’s looking at it before he rips the motor out to see if maybe there was something else and he found some loose headbolts. He’s ordered a new gasket set and I’m hoping this fixes it. Im so pumped cause i dont think the blocks cracked but i dont wanna get my hopes up cause i love my little truck and id hate to have to sell it back to him
The included picture of it in a puddle of coolant talking about a new motor I was just gonna buy an explorer with a 5.0 and throw it in there

Hello, I got this camper shell a little while back, and I’ve been building or buying parts for it. It’s ready at this point to take anywhere, but I just want to get this third brake light fixed, and I don’t know a thing about how to get it done. Any suggestions would help. Thanks.

Ford Ranger tyres

Post image
• Upvotes

Hello everyone, I'm the proud new owner of a Ford Ranger Wildtrack PHEV 26.5.

I'm looking at replacing stock tyres with the tallest tire I can fit without rubbing on stock suspension to gain the maximum ride height without any modification.

Do you know if 275 70 r18 would fit? Alternatively I could go for 265 70 r18.Ā

In the past I used 255 80 r17 on a Jeep and loved those pizza cutters, but on size 18 they're not available.

(OEM Tyres for reference in the pic below)

Water leak?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Any time I turn on the heat this part starts leaking. However when I turn on the A/C it doesn’t happen.

Not sure if it’s also worth mentioning my regular A/C doesn’t work, only the Max A/C.

The liquid is clear and doesn’t smell like only oil or anything.

Any tips on what this may be and how I can fix it?

Y’all got plate, reverse and third brake lamp lights…?

• Upvotes

I have a 1995 2WD 2.3L wiggle stick. So one day I just lost all function of all three but the bulbs are good, sockets aren’t melted and no fuses popped. Common sense things have been looked at. Leads me to a ground… Before I start chasing wires, I just wanted to ask if anyone had something similar happen and what you found.

Why pinging noise?

Post image
• Upvotes

Timing chain job onthe 4.0 sohc. When rotating the engine by hand, I get a pinging noise from this valve/rocker arm. When I remove the rocker as pictured the pinging goes away. Its not the rocker itself unfortunately.

Any thoughts on what this might be? On the off chance its the valve spring, is it possible to replace the spring without removing the head?

Looking to buy a Ranger again

Hello there! I am thinking about getting back into a Ranger for the first time in about 20 years. Currently in the central Ohio area and looking to see what’s out there for sale. Are there certain years to look out for and others to avoid? 3.0 vs 4.0? Any advice of leads would be greatly appreciated!

Rotor fitment

1997 ranger 2.3
Has anyone used 4wheel abs 2wd rotors on a 2 wheel abs 2wd? The measurements are exactly the same one just has the tone ring will the tone ring affect anything if I don’t have abs for the front wheels. Has anyone tried this before? The 4 wheel abs are a little cheaper and easier to find as a complete kit
