UNSOLVED A song that has similar/the same trumpet? sound as in the stones' she's a rainbow

• Upvotes

when she's a rainbow plays, the melody (?) i'm thinking of comes in at 17 seconds - it sounds like some wind instrument i think. i feel like maybe there's an abba song with the same or a similar melody but i can't for the life of me remember and it could just be that it's a nostalgic sound so i'm literally only thinking i know it from elsewhere but it's just from the stones song itself. also might be a beatles song?

UNSOLVED This Recording Has Me Stumped — Can Anyone Decipher These Psychedelic-Era Lyrics?

Thumbnail dropbox.com
• Upvotes

I've been trying to transcribe the lyrics to an obscure recording of the track "Supernatural Fairy Tale," and this thing has been driving me absolutely nuts.

Here's the problem: I can imitate practically every syllable he sings, right down to his phrasing and pronunciation, but I cannot for the life of me figure out some of the actual words.

I've isolated the vocals to make them easier to hear, and I'm hoping some fresh ears — particularly those familiar with northern English accents — might catch something I've been missing.

Here's the isolated vocal recording: Fairytales

I'm deliberately NOT posting my own interpretation because I don't want to influence what anyone else hears. I'd much rather see what people come up with independently.

I'm planning to re-record this song, and I'd really like to get the lyrics right rather than permanently immortalize my own misheard version.

So, fellow music detectives, British linguists, psychedelic rock enthusiasts, and anyone with a good ear:

What the heck is this man singing? 😂

Even if you can only decipher one or two lines, I'd love to hear your interpretation. And please don't worry if some of the words sound completely nonsensical — it was the psychedelic '60s, after all!

One small request: Please listen to the recording BEFORE reading anyone else's interpretations in the comments. I'd love to get as many independent transcriptions as possible without inadvertently influencing what others hear. Even if you can only decipher a word or two, every contribution helps!

Thanks, everyone! 🤘

UNSOLVED boy and girl rap duo

• Upvotes

it was a rap song with both a boy and girl… i’ve never heard the song in my life so i’m assuming it’s BRAND new. I can’t remember the lyrics sadly but all i remember is the girl repeatedly yelling whooooo! after each verse is finished as she’s hyping or cheering on the person. This happens throughout the whole song like a loop. It’s also fast paced if that helps at all. I think I heard it through Spotify it’s definitely not a great song but it’s stuck in my head and i have ocd so someone help pls LOL

UNSOLVED Looking for a certain Fallen Down cover - 2010's | Synth | Toby Fox (Original)

I came across a post on insta recently and got hit with a fistful of nostalgia when I recognised the song used was a particular remix of Fallen Down from *years* ago, but I couldn't recall the name. Attached is the best version of the track I could find with the overlapping dialogue removed.

UNSOLVED Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance

• Upvotes

Hello good people of r/findthatsong. I'm in a real bind here. I was at a Djoon Paris takeover at Canvas in Amsterdam for ADE on Saturday night. The DJs played lots of old/rare sounding disco records, and there was one I recognised but didn't get a recording of because I was so in the moment dancing.

It was 80s in feel, around boogie tempo. The main refrain is the word 'Dance' repeated five times, with the first four landing on the beat and the final one syncopated.

My memory seems to have the title as D.A.N.C.E, but this is likely wrong as absolutely none of my million searches have come back with anything. It's NOT Chic - Dance, Dance, Dance (Yowsah, Yowsah, Yowsah), or Marta Acuna - Dance, Dance, Dance, but these are both close in spirit and sonics.

Here's my (questionable) attempt at the refrain - https://voca.ro/1h53qlaCRyob

I know this is quite vague, but it seems those in this sub have had success with less. Please please help 🙏 thanks!

UNSOLVED Help me identify a song from a short piano recording

I’ve attached a short recording of me playing the piano part from memory (sorry, it’s pretty terrible — I recorded it in GarageBand!).

Here are the clues I can remember:

  • The song has male vocals.
  • The piano melody comes in towards the end of the song, overlapping with a big, emotional crescendo.
  • The ending features a rich arrangement, with a guitar chord progression and what I remember as choir-like vocals, possibly wordless singing.
  • The overall mood is melancholic and emotionally intense, with the arrangement gradually building up. It reminds me somewhat of the way Black Country, New Road build up their arrangements, although I’m pretty sure it’s not one of their songs.
  • I have a vague feeling the time signature might be unusual (perhaps 6/8), but I’m not sure.

The recording is just me playing what I remember, so the notes, key, tempo and rhythm might not be completely accurate.

I’ve tried music recognition apps without any luck. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

EDIT: For some reason, Reddit won’t let me upload the file to the original post, so you can find it in the comments :)

It's this royalty-free music, but I'm mainly curious on what type of genre it is? Most these songs, despite having different composers, use similar sounding instruments. What is this genre?

UNSOLVED Looking for r&b/rap song

I can’t find this son anywhere!!!! It’s a slower song but has rapping in the middle. There’s a deeper voice at the end that says something along the lines of “I don’t wanna lose this now”. I heard it at pilates and it was so good but can’t remember other lyrics lol

Thank you very much

I don't remember the rythm either but it just feels so nostalgic

Need help finding songs by the band called "Stone jul", it was an indie rock band in the 90s.

I found out about it through a youtube channel of one of the musicians, who also runs an AI band called "Power Tool's & Liquor".

UNSOLVED [TOMT] Song reaction clip: Beat drop sfx gawk gawk fart American anthem reggae beat.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask but I’m looking for this clip of a girl sitting at her desk reacting to a song that has a build up then there is a sound effect gawk gawk fart then goes into the American anthem which is the accompanied by a reggae beat. Any ideas? I’ve looked everywhere. I saw it on Instagram.
