Old one was getting pretty daunting, so here's a new megathread
It’s a controller reminiscent of the controls used in an arcade cabinet, generally featuring a joystick and multiple buttons. Most can be played on a lap, while some are heavy and large enough to warrant a table or platform underneath them. Using one over a standard handheld or console controller won’t magically up your game and they are largely preference. They are most commonly used for fighting games, shmups, run ‘n guns, and classic arcade titles. At their simplest, a fightstick requires an enclosure (usually made of wood, acrylic, or metal), buttons, a joystick, a PCB, and a wiring harness to connect everything. Additionally, all-button fightsticks that don’t utilize joysticks are becoming more commonplace on the scene.
This is largely a matter of taste and budget. Here are just a few options to get you thinking. Ask yourself what system(s) require compatibility. PC-only will be much cheaper than a PS5-compatibile controller, for example.
ENTRY LEVEL: Qanba Drone and Mayflash F500
If you go much cheaper than these options, you may sacrifice quality and durability. DO NOT GO CHEAPER THAN THESE OPTIONS.
SOLID LEVEL: Hori Real Arcade Pro N/4/V, Razer Panthera, Qanba Obsidian, Qanba Pearl, Hori Fighting Edge, Nacon Daija, 8BitDo, Mad Catz TES+ (and Razer Atrox for Xbox One players)
SOLID BUT $$$ LEVEL: Qanba Dragon, Victrix Pro 5, etokki Omni
At the end of the day, go with what feels right and fits your budget. There are lots of awesome sticks out there. If you really can't make up your mind, go with an Obsidian/Pearl. Really though, if you're still that on the fence, then you can also consider building your own. They come together fairly easily these days and it's super fun (though they will usually run at a higher price point than a stock stick unless you can easily get or make a suitable enclosure). Just more food for thought.

Price the sticks accordingly across the following websites. Most will be fairly comparable with one another, but occasionally one of the sites may have a deal going on.
Hitbox (for specialty, all-button controllers)
Mixbox (for specialty, keyboard-esque controllers)

I cross posted my post from Tekken and seems like the professional Tekken player Nobi will be releasing his new lever by November.
What do you think about his new upcoming lever?

Te2+ was one of my first sticks. I gave mine away years ago and recently bought one again. Love this stick.

I used a CNC router with a 1/16” carbide bit to cut 6mm and 3mm Sintra. Printed on a Tauro H3300.
Waiting on the buttons and wiring. I should be finished with the build in a week or so.

Here's our customized FightBox M3 featuring Giant Attack artwork, red & black buttons, and a detachable joystick!
The detachable joystick makes it easier to store and carry around.
Thoughts on this one?

Hey r/fightsticks,
Need help deciding between two local deals. I play Tekken 8 primarily on PS5 and PC, and I also own an Xbox. My current daily driver is a leverless (Varmilo FK2), but I want a proper arcade stick project for heavy customizing and modding.
Note: I already own a Brook Wingman FGC2 converter, so native PS5 compatibility on the Atrox is not an issue at all.
The Deals:
Razer Atrox (Xbox One) – $80 (Complete in box, great condition).
Qanba Obsidian 2 – $110 (Stick only, loose).
Current Setup & Planned Mods:
- Leaving the stock Sanwa stick and buttons as-is for now (happy with how they feel).
- Future lever swap: Plan to switch specifically to a Korean collarless lever (Crown CWL-309MJ).
- Custom artwork with backlighting / EL panel mod.
- Adding a mini OLED display for inputs/modes.
- Potential wireless conversion + internal battery.
- USB-C port conversion with clean internal wiring.
Looking for Suggestions & Ideas:
- I'm completely open to ANY mod ideas or suggestions you guys have (performance, functional, or aesthetic)!
- For anyone who has modded an Atrox: What are the coolest or most creative ways to take full advantage of that massive internal space and honeycomb layout?
The Dilemma:
- The Atrox is $30 cheaper, comes CIB, works natively on my Xbox, and the hydraulic clamshell + spacious honeycomb floor makes mounting internal hardware effortless without drilling.
- The Obsidian 2 has native PS5 support and a solid form factor, but the 8 bottom screws and tighter internal layout seem like a hassle for frequent opening and heavy modding.
Given the price gap and my modding plans, which one would you go for? (Pictures attached).
Appreciate your thoughts!

Hi, guys! I need help, I think I over-tightened my capsule top and it got stuck on my shaft. What can I do that can help me remove it?

Has Mavercade KeebFighter-02 users tried hot swap switches before? how to do it?
I'm unable to pull the switch off it's looks I need to remove the black plate from the pcb layer first but it's so hard to removing the plate I'm afraid I'm going to break it.

Its been really fun and i played a few hours daily i started playing on stick a week ago, yesterday i played a for a very long time and i noticed that my legs start hurting and today they just been hurting like i went on a Hike or something. I use a hori alpha arcade stick and i put it on my lap , kinda concerned because im getting a qanba obsidian 2 for my birthday soon and im really exited for it but that stick is bigger and heavier than the one im using rn so im kinda scared of the pain will be more when i get the qanba obsidian 2. Hi, guys! This is how my lever currently sounds. Do I need to apply a new grease?

I’m removing parts from this stick (“Atari Single Player Fight Stick” from Micro Center) but the button nuts were glued on. What’s a good way to get those off??

I almost regretted I almost regretted buying the Sanjuks V7 because I was so used to the feel of the Golden Lever. But after swapping the grommet 40A, shaft, and bearing from my Golden Lever onto the Sanjuks V7, it felt like the perfect setup for me!
The movement feels so much better, especially when sidestepping. I also used to struggle when playing on the P1 side, but ever since making the switch, wavedashing has become so much easier!
Honestly, this setup feels even better than my original Golden Lever!
Has anyone else tried this setup?

Basically the title.
I'm playing sf6 in a keyboard for some months, but I'm thinking on getting something better.
As mentioned, I play primarily sf6 and need something that can connect to both ps5 and pc without so many issues. I'd like to take some budget suggestions as well, to first learn and adapt to the new style of controller

I just got my fight stick and yesterday and I've been playing around with it yesterday and today and I noticed that the buttons have very little travel before they actually click and it takes like no effort to touch in my fingers keep brushing against it sometimes and hitting different buttons that I didn't need to.
Is there any way to reduce that by changing a spring or something so I have to give more travel or have enough pressure that it doesn't accidentally click

Hey everyone,
I'm a mid-level player based in Germany looking to pick up a traditional joystick during the upcoming Black Friday sales. I mostly play classic arcade games like KOF95 to current, Samurai Showdown, and beat-'em-ups like Cadillacs and Dinosaurs and Final Fight. I now play only on PC, but planning to have the freedom to use it for PS5 as well.
My budget target is around €70. I’m currently eyeing the Mayflash F500 V2 (listed at €89.99 on Amazon Germany right now) hoping for a good deal during Black Friday Week.
Thanks for any advice!

Hi all, I'm building my own custom leverless controller which has analog stick functionality, anyone with experience that has connected a Nintendo switch joycon analog stick to a board with GP2040-CE firmware on it that can help out please?
My parts list:
Joycons: https://amzn.eu/d/018W1a0r
Joystick breakout board: https://4layertech.com/products/joystick-breakout-board-pack-of-2
RP2040 board (with GP2040-CE firmware on it): https://amzn.eu/d/0dGi54Gw
The problem:
I've wired up everything correctly (as seen in image 1), I've enabled analog in the firmware settings with the correct pins all matched up but when I go to test (I've been using steam controller testing - image 2) the analog stick is constantly in the top right corner, I click and then it recognises the analog clicking but it just goes down to the bottom left corner.
I've tired everything possible to get this to work, but nothing is getting it to work. Maybe nintendo swtich joycons just don't work with GP2040-CE firmware? or they do because it's recognising it but it just won't work correctly...

What we know so far:
- short throw
- has square (squircle?) gate
- shaft size might be the same as CDP pro
- uses omron a5 equivalent switches
- smaller but thicker bean top as opposed to capsule top (comes in green, yellow and red)
- pricing likely upwards of ~80 USD
