A MANUEL REPOST OF ONE I DID ON THE FALCOM REDDIT, SINCE THIS THREAD WON'T LET ME PORT OVER.

Just a fun compare and contrast both between two characters where one of them is from a franchise I love (Trails) and the other is from a game I’m currently going through its 2nd route on 2/12 on the VN (Fate/stay night), thank you NicoB for introducing me to latter.

But yes: Alisa Reinford and Rin Tohsaka

Two prominent girl characters in their own games who both rock pigtails with adorable pins, are students at school, come from a rich family, and are known to act very tsundere towards the MCs of their respective games. Also very funny how in the Fate anime, Rin’s has the same English VA as Sharon Krueger, Alisa’s maid. Even funnier how Nico even gave both gals the same girly voice between both LPs.

Now as I mentioned earlier, both of them are known for being tsundere towards the MC, despite also having some inner romantic feelings towards said MC. Alisa also had infamous first impression towards the Rean over a boob accident by slapping him and ignoring him for about a month, which made her into a very overhated character within the fandom IMO. But thankfully, she apologized at the beginning and hasn't a low moment like that as a person again. If anything, Alisa has been WAY MORE obvious with her romantic feelings towards Rean and is more genuine with him and the group overall, even though she will also have her embarrassing moments that she tries to hide. And while Rin hasn't necessarily had a low moment like that with Shirou (unless you count The fight at School), she is rather blunt, snarky, and very teaseful towards him. Makes it harder to decipher is she is in love with him even though she does care for his safety, even during the whole Date scene where she teasing and complimenting him.

The subject of romance though on both sides has to do witch how each of their respective games are structured. Fate has 3 canon routes that you must go through in a certain order to beat the game, and is structured around 3 girls (Saber, Rin, and Sakura) as the central focus on each one. This means there is a definitive Rin route where she will get romantic with Shirou no matter what. Trails of Cold Steel on the other hand has a Persona-lite setup of choosing who you romance from a larger pool of girls to choose who you want Rean to be with (Emma, Laura, Fie, Towa, Sara, Alfin, Elise, etc). This means that except for the canon moments that happen in the story, you can choose not to romance or bond with Alisa if you do not want to.

There is probably more I can list when comparing and contrasting the two, but I'll let you guys discuss that in the comments.
