Hi everyone,
I'm looking for some advice and shared experiences from the community.
Quick background on my situation:
I'm in my late 50s and have essentially struggled with erectile dysfunction (ED) since my youth. Unfortunately, having to take beta-blockers over the last few years has made things even worse.
Because of this, a urologist prescribed me 5 mg of Tadalafil daily. While that brought a slight improvement, it’s unfortunately not enough for fulfilling penetrative sex. The erection often wouldn't last long enough, which just kept the vicious cycle of performance anxiety going.
Current status:
After doing my own research, I independently increased the dose to 10 mg daily about a year ago. The results for me have been fantastic:
Good, lasting erections and finally enjoying sex again.
No noticeable side effects.
My cardiovascular system is stable (I feel great all around with it).
My questions for you:
Since my primary care physician and cardiologist only know about the 5 mg dose so far, I want to finally address this transparently at my next appointment.
Are there any other men here who also take 10 mg of Tadalafil daily long-term? What are your long-term experiences?
How did your doctors (urologist/cardiologist/GP) react to this dose, or did they prescribe it themselves?
Do you have any tips on how to bring this up objectively and best with a doctor so the conversation stays constructive?
Tadalafil has given me my zest for life and self-acceptance back, and I'm terrified of having that taken away again.
I'm looking forward to your advice and experiences!
