2 weeks in, what a trip!

The amount you force yourself to learn is awesome, and addicting. Klipper is going to have to be next on the agenda, lol!

Picked up this old gal 2 weeks ago, and so far I've managed to:

Learn how to compile Marlin

Learned what a GD32F303 RET6 chip is, and it's quarks

Likely put over 100 hours on it so far.

Cleaned the hot end, trimmed the Bowden tube

New nozzle

Likely over 1kg of filament deep 😂

Realized I'm gonna need a faster machine for opengrid and multi board

Setup both assisted tramming, and a 25 point manual bed mesh

If you haven't, the bed mesh feature is almost unbelievable! My bed is warped. I tried foil tape, but it's pushing a .2mm+ variance across it, and not super consistently. Can be done on device via marlin!

Ps: I also learned that my trees had infill on them, don't do that 😂😂

EDIT: OMG the 1am repairs/nozzle change.... Anyone notice anything with my 4010 fan? Got that side discharge bypass mod installed....... 🤦 Fan now blows INTO the fan ducts again, not out the left side 😂

The mesh bed leveling is huge but dude you gotta get the spacers it or at least upgraded springs. Do you like relabeling the bed all the time??

Honestly, I've had some great luck? The only print failures have been from the poop as the nozzle heats up, if that doesn't wipe away on the test line, I've had 1 or 2 prints not work. I haven't even wiped my build plate down in the last 10ish prints... 😐. I trammed it with the mesh initially, then when I cleaned up the Bowden tube, and once more with the new nozzle.

I've been at the point of making sure the perimeter line goes down, then run away for 5 minutes as the first layer gets printed. I setup the tramming screen in marlin, and that also, really helped. Click the wheel and it just goes to the next spring over and over until happy. Only takes a minute or 2 once the preheat is done. A quick real-time babyZ adjust the first time I adjusted it, and it's been pretty great since.

Same boat homie! Make sure you clean all of your bearings and have fresh belts!

I’m going to either find a second broken ender and make a core xy duoender, or buy a sprite all in one and dual z. Dual z first if I can’t find another broken 3 max.

I’m going to learn klipper tonight!

I started with an easyThreed K10 and found a broken 3 max. Put it together and printed upgrades for the k10. Currently adding the new nema 17steppers to the k10 so I can print tpu

So it turns out, don't do repairs at 1am.... 🤦 It's been at least 2 days of me wondering why I started getting more stringing....

Where can I download this fan set-up or at least the name

Here's what I used, stock fans. It's recommended to put some foil on top of the right air duct, as it's pretty close to the hot end, and no silicone there for the wiring of the element.

lol hell yeah. My first fan mount was the same one you're using. My only issue became apparently when I got my BLtouch. This was like 6 months ago. I've since converted to klipper, swapped to a Dragonburner toolhead, rewired from the board up, put a linear rail on, and upgraded frame support (to make the frame a little more rigid). Currently running test prints, but so far I'm up to 10k mm/s^2 accel and 300mm/s for regular print speed on basically stock ender 3 motors and hotend.

Now replace hotend for a bambulab x1, it supports same mini me hotend shroud

Mounts directly to the carriage?

I've had mine for 3 weeks,, was given a lot of filament and already bought 3 more rolls. Went from a different printed fan shroud using stock fans to a satsana with a 5015 fan and cr touch also using klipper. Also grabbed someone's shared profile for orca slicer and I'm printing so much faster

I was given one from a friend (theirs but was replaced with a bigger multicolor printer).

I have the machine and the filament and even got a filament dryer and the filament sensor. But haven't had the courage to set it up and use it yet.

I'm pretty tech savvy but this is a bit intimidating.

Im on a similar quest with a kp3s. When I got to where you are, i built a custom klicky probe with a micro switch i got from a furnace. You can find them other places, like an old mouse. You need 3 magnets and a little bit of wire and the rest is printable. Fun project designing the mount and dock, and programming it in marlin.

I feel for you on the GD 32 Chip….. I got mine for free and let it sit for over a year because I could not get it figured out… I finally came back around to it and after 90 or so days I’m about 100 hours deep as well just purely on learning and tinkering that’s not even print time…. I’ve installed a Sprite Pro, BTT SKRV3, BL touch,….have klipper running on a repurposed surface pro….I just got done doing input shaping today….. The addiction is real.

Edit to add: I’ve got a pair of 5015 fans arriving tomorrow so I can upgrade the part cooling
