Best mixed electronic tracks you've heard?

Hi,

I want to get some reference tracks that have outstanding mixing, I'm mostly interested in electronic music, whether it's Trance or Techno or EMD or whatever.

I mostly struggle with making my mixes sound 3D and having insane separation of sounds.

Also some tracks sound insanely wide, I know a lot of tricks but applying it is a different story.

And statistically "edm" sounds narrower compared to POP music, if It's an amazing pop track then feel free to list it too.

Cheers!

Edit:
Please no dubstep šŸ˜…

Your best advice/tips for house/techno.

I have Ableton 11 suite.
I’m 31 with no previous experience in music. I just have a strong love for the music and 21 year old me decided he wanted to make house and techno music and is finally having the chance to do it.
And videos on YouTube or if you know any great plug ins or sample packs or things you’ve noticed that helped made your learning process easier I’d love to hear. I’m always open to learning and I’ve been playing around the last few days and it’s been such a great experience. Getting to use my brain in a way I’m not use too is great. It’s hard but also I just feel like it’s come to me really well too. Just someone with a passion.

How do I make this sound? Virji ā€œRising Raiderā€ drums/perc

Hey guys! I’ve been waiting for Virji’s ā€œRising Raiderā€ to drop for years and now that it’s finally out I’m obsessed.

I really love the sound of those drums, specifically the percs. They have a very distinct feeling/sound that I hear a lot in the songs of Four Tet, Daphni, Ben UFO (his taste at least), Normal Pleasure, and others like that. They feel earthy almost. Canary Yellow’s ā€œInside Outā€ track gives me the same feeling.

I was wondering how you can achieve sounds like these on your drums. Are there effects in Ableton or plugins you can use to mess with your percussion sounds to get them ā€œearthyā€ like this? Any drum sample packs you guys recommend?

If I need to go into more description on specifically what drum sounds I’m talking about, I’m happy to do so. Just a little hard to describe. Really appreciate any suggestion you guys might have! Cheers

Discussion Another Hardware post...

Would it just be better to get an IPAD vs say.. a keystep pro?

Some people are making the argument that the ipad > musical hardware.

IF one uses the IPAD are they stuck using Apple computers? like say you have a windows PC can you use that ipad with music software on windows?

Can I please get some opinions? Thank you. The keystep looks super cool.

Thank you.

Mixing on bluetooth headphones

Hello friends - need some advice here. I am on FL studio.

I have been used to listening to my soundcore liberty 4 pros for leisure and because of that, I used it for my production and mixing sessions. I have become very used to the sound, especially in the low-end but I am stuck now.

I have a DT 1770 PRO headphones that do not give me the punch and low-end that the soundcores provide. I got very good at mixing low-end with the soundcores but now when mixing the highs on my track (3k freq and above), my track is always too high-mid focused when I do referencing. These frequencies do not come up in span/tdr references but they are very noticeable when I export the files and listen on my samsung s25. I am happy with the low-end but the top-end is where I struggle with.

How do I mitigate this??
