Should I try looking at the wiring myself or go to an electrician? Past owner tried to install a stereo and so some aftermarket wires mixed in.

My 318i has been running rough and overheating. The radiator smokes as well but oil is not milky and when I did a head gasket test the test liquid went blue to clear and not yellow. I did install new fuel injectors, not sure if that would cause this. What could it be?

Bummed to see this. It was in rough shape but mostly intact. Should have been kept on the road.

I was driving the car and noticed a strange sound when I was driving the car at highway speeds.

The sound only happens when I'm going around 3.3-3.4K RPM, it happens with acceleration and deceleration. I am able to reproduce this fault with the same conditions

With clutch in, or when I'm going below 50 mph in 1st-3rd the sound doesn't occur.

Has this happened to anyone? Looking for advice

Just bought my first 87’ e30 325iC. Cleaning up the engine bay, replacing old parts and removing parts I won’t need.

Can someone tell me if my ICV placement is correct? Not sure if the last owners changed something.

Edit- while doing some testing, I unplugged one fuel injector and the engine will run an idle just fine, obviously running on only five cylinders. As soon as I plug it back in, that sixth injector, the engine stalls immediately. It doesn’t matter which injector I unplug, it’ll run fine on any five cylinders. As soon as a 6th injector is plugged in, it stalls.

I recently acquired an e30 i am restoring. When i got it, i replaced rusted fuel tank, both pumps, all fuel lines. It would start then instantly die. It will run off starting fluid. I replaced both crank sensors, injectors amongst a ton of other stuff like timing belt, gaskets, thermostat, vacuum hoses, coolant hoses etc. but it still does the same thing. Starts, runs for a second and then dies. I will check with a node light for injector pulse tomorrow. I am thinking that it runs for a second from a burst of fuel from cold start injector and the regular injectors arent doing anything. Maybe bad ecu? Any other things i can check?

For those who have done a steering rack swap on an E30, which rack would you recommend, and why?

I’d also appreciate feedback on the differences in steering ratio, and fitment.

Like why couldn't they have had skirts and a rear apron to begin with on these cars??

We were going to retro fit an e36 bumper initially but decided to do it the right way. Instead we installed a set of BMP side skirts and a DTM Fiberwerkz rear apron on my 87' vert and it looks so damn good imo

So happy with how it sits now, the car is finally complete from an aesthetic perspective.

Hey guys my late model E30 is in the body shop for a near full resto. I am deciding between the IS kit or the MTECH2 kit but I am a bit worried about drilling into my vehicle to install a body kit. How easy is the MT2 install for a novice?
And since these IS kits are one molded piece for the bumpers are most people masking off the “trim” pieces on these before paint? Or are people painting the entire bumper?

I did not buy these and they don’t have a part number on them
I ordered the e36 m3 mounts from febi shown in the pictures ^ and they are shorter than the ones I have
I also ordered febi e30 5 speed trans mounts that look exactly like the ones I have in my crossmember but they were also shorter the same way as the e36m3 mounts does anyone know ? I’d like to keep same height I believe it would help with some rear oil pan clearance and also the new ones feel softer my original ones feel stronger and they’re not poly

very minimal rusting, crack free dash, auto. Blown headgasket but runs and drives. Some service records in it. Apparently sat for the last 10 years though. Paid a whole 2 grand

I've developed a small dead spot when driving my car, with the steering wheel centered at higher speed it has a dead spot. It started a couple months after I put an e30 m3 steering rack into my car, I have all new suspension and bushings, on fortune auto coilovers etc, the suspension is dialed, but I looked under my car and found that the e30 m3 rack I have installed has play, in the first half of video when I'm turning the column/ rack, the wheels don't move, the second half of video is my oem 318i rack that seems to have 0 play, do you think the rack is causing my issue?

Bobine en bon état, bougies et fils neufs, Delco et doigt d’allumeur neuf, faisceaux neuf, relai de pompe à essence neuf, toutes les masses sont bien accrochées, injecteurs crache bien !

Je commence à me demander où est la cause ??

Note, sortie collecteur direct, et circuit de refroidissement vide, batterie bien chargé !

Made a few interior changes today that are purely comforts for me. I'm sure the community will be divided, many might call out blasphemy but I'm satisfied with the update.

I had this installed in the radio slot but I just moved it to the cubby spot above the ashtray. Head unit is hiding behind the blank plate and the display is powered by an extended ribbon cable.

Got a new 3d printed cupholder off of ebay. Needed to be dremeled a tiny bit to fit but it worked out fine. Shorelinedesigns on ebay.

Got one of those shitty armrest things that sit between the seat and the tunnel and modified it to sit in the new cupholder so it's secure and can be quickly removed. Has a little cubby, it's own cupholder, and a USB hub.

The armrest is cheaper than a husco.

The head unit is better than a new school blaupunkt.
