My director marched with these when he was in high school, and he said that they were built like tanks (especially the rims). What are your thoughts? I don’t think I’ve ever seen these in person, so I’d love to hear how they were.
I’d love to hear some stories from this.

So ive always been told as a 2nd year band student that you will almost always use matched grip unless timpani or snare so im confused why are people using French and traditional on tenot and mallets is it like wrong or is it optional?

Hey guys, I’d really appreciate your help if you could take a look at my post to help me find a part of the bass hook.

Does anyone know the sizes/proportions for Pearl bass drum decals from Steve Weiss? I have 16”, 18”, 20”, 22”, 26” basses.

What is the best microphone or type of microphone for recording drumline and front ensemble outside?

What happened:
We go on the field. Front ensemble gets to go on a few minutes early. We set up plug everything in and all of a sudden main stage has no files and everything is apparently gone. The mixer on the iPad lost all of the channels, presets, labels etc as well.
We tried to figure it out for a while. Luckily, there was a prop delay, so that scored us a little bit of extra time.
However, as the show is about to start, and I was walking off the field we still don’t have any working.
We got sound out of the mallet mics and bass guitar, synths played a default piano sound.
I’m walking over to the band Director to tell him there is no sound samples and the show starts and magically the samples work.
They played the show but this resulted in the flute solo mic being on the whole show as well.💀(the student could have manually turned the box on and off but that ain’t her job mid show, I can usually do that from the iPad mixer)
In the last second they must have pulled up the original file because samples played and synths worked but still the presets are gone.
I know from several people in my local community that they don’t like to use main stage because things like this can happen. I have never ever had this issue and I also teach with the local independent line that uses main stage extensively as well.
I’m trying to find out: why on earth that happened so I can prevent it.
I believe we messed something up along the way, main stage is widely used it can’t be the program.
TLDR: went on field, MainStage was wiped clean and so was the iPad mixer. Wondering if that had happened to anyone else on here and why that happens.

We usually have small outdoor lines where I am at. We have 1 snare, 1 tenor, 3 bass. I feel like the tenor gets lost and snare is too high.
For indoor, I have trouble with bass muffling. And snare tuning. We have a much bigger line for indoor. What tuning notes are recommended for both situations?

What’s your pre-band camp schedule and what are you expected to be able to do by the end of it/the beginning of band camp?

A while ago, I made a post about what Promark sticks I should buy(I have some reward points). And people recommended Rudy Garcia's or Tim Jackson's but I'm wondering if anyone has tried using the Mike McIntosh flips and if they're worth getting.

So I am a brass player trying to learn snare drum, I always wanted to march with drumline, but I never got the chance to because I had to stick with an instrument I play. I played a euphonium and trombone tuba since 4 years, I already graduated. And now I trying to decide if I should keep playing brass in college or drums, so if I tryout for drumline, how long would that take for me to get better at snare? Because I know little bit of snare, I can’t read hard sheet music or understand it, I know some easy parts like warmups but I always go by hearing so. What yall think I should do?

I’ve been told I have a “sounds good looks bad” technique by a few people now and I’m wondering how to improve. I’ve just finished my senior year and I’ve been practicing snare a lot but I’ve come back home to quads and I’m a bit rusty

So I'm on tenors and this is my second year playing them and I want to do a duet with one of the snares of my school but I'm just really not sure where to find good snare and tenor duets. I really don't wanna pay money before I can see the Music and see if it's something that I am interested in actually learning and because I am broke.

The high school marching band I teach at recently switched from remo bottom heads to Evan MX5s. We have one snare drummer and have gone through two of these heads in a little over 3 weeks. It doesn't look like they're popping but rather tearing at the seams. I'm not cranking them too high at all, the old bottoms that we used an entire season before were tuned higher, and after the first one broke I tuned the second one even lower and it still tore within a week or two.
Anyone else have bad experiences with these heads? With my time at Crown I've seen and had bad experiences with Evans heads but this seems absurd to break a bottom this quickly.

Hello. I'm looking to add a drum set to our front ensemble next year, but our band room only has single-wide doors and I don't think ANY commercial drum set carts will fit through. Does anyone have experience with carts that can be broken down into two pieces or something like that? Any other ideas?

How the heck did Atlanta Quest tilt their snares mid show during E.D.E.N.? I marched a season on Yamaha drums with Randall May but couldn’t figure out how they did it. Is there something special about Mapex or something?

So I graduated and I am a brass player trying to learn how to play a snare drum, I been kind of practicing snare since my sophomore but I stop because I had to practice brass instrument only, and the only reason I wanted to play snare probably in college because I love drums, so the question is what are the ways I can get better at playing snare and reading music?, before college auditions
