Discussion 14 checkouts but no sales

Post image
10 Upvotes

Low quality traffic or something else? I’ve tested different landing pages for ads, different creatives etc not too much spend to conclude anything really from testing but i know im getting add to carts and even a decent % of checkouts but no one actually goes through with it.
I’ve checked the checkout flow myself multiple times and orders go through, i’ve done a last resort and lowered price by almost half for a day with no change.
Before i keep spending on ads what else do i change? Fully different ads to capture better traffic or something else. Any insight would be appreciated thanks.

Question How do you find trustworthy dropshipping suppliers, and how does shipping from China actually work?

Hey everyone,
I’m new to dropshipping and have been researching how the business works. One thing I’m having trouble understanding is how people find reliable suppliers and actually get their products delivered to customers.
I’ve looked into AliExpress, Alibaba, CJdropshipping, and, but I’m curious how experienced dropshippers handle the entire process.
A few questions:
How do you find trustworthy suppliers? Do you use platforms or have direct relationships with manufacturers?
Do you need to know someone in China to source products, or can everything be arranged online?
Who actually handles shipping the products from China to the US? Does the supplier arrange everything, or do you need a separate shipping company or freight forwarder?
When a customer orders from your website, does the supplier ship directly to them, or do you first import products into a US warehouse?
How do you verify product quality and avoid unreliable suppliers?
With the current tariffs on Chinese imports, how are you handling customs fees and import duties?
I’m particularly interested in understanding the logistics side of dropshipping. Do beginners typically handle everything through platforms like CJdropshipping, or do you eventually need your own contacts and shipping arrangements?
I’m not looking for courses or paid supplier lists. Just hoping to hear real experiences from people who have actually done this.
Thanks in advance!

Question Creating Video Ads Meta

Does anyone know a faster/better way to produce video ads? I currently find clips on TikTok, YouTube and stock videos and put the clips together with a voiceover but this process can take ages and it usually doesn’t come out particularly good.

I see competitors producing big batches of these sort of story videos similar to the way I’m doing it but instead of 30s-1m they’re 3mins+ which seems insane like I’m so confused as to how they’re able to produce so many.

Is there a certain AI I’m missing on how they’re doing this so easily? It’s not like they’re using AI UGC these are actually clips put together.

Any advice would really help!

Question Almost lost $800 on a batch of bad samples. How do you guys secure smaller orders without high fees?

Hey everyone, had a frustrating experience last week with an $800 test batch that arrived damaged. Resolving it was way harder than it should’ve been because I didn't set up proper payment protection upfront.

For small orders around $500–$1,000, paying high escrow or wire transfer fees completely kills the margin. I've used standard built-in options like Alibaba Trade Assurance before to hold funds until delivery, and it went smooth, but I’m always open to seeing what other payment structures people rely on to keep overhead low.

How do you guys handle payment security on smaller orders so you don't get burnt without getting eaten alive by processing fees? What payment methods or rules do you stick to?

Question Compliance & Insurance

Hi there, for those selling consumer electronics do you make sure it is locally compliant in terms of electrical safety, whether that is before selling or immediately after testing the market. In Australia, it seems any product in-scope is required to have the RCM label which assures the device meets Australian standard and usually requires getting this assessed by a third party. Is there a smart way to do this without spending thousands in compliance before testing it will sell.

Also, would you consider product and public liability insurance essential or something you only get once you start selling x amount or you would not even consider and why.

Discussion New in dropshing and I need help to understand how it works

Hello,

I’m new to e-commerce in general and I’m completely lost because, for the moment, I haven’t even started, although I would really like to. Personally, what would you recommend I do, and most importantly, is it still profitable to get into e-commerce nowadays?

Discussion What should you ask a made in china supplier before starting dropshipping?

Choosing a supplier involves more than finding a product at a good price. Before starting dropshipping, it helps to understand how the supplier handles orders, shipping, and product quality.

When using Made in China to research potential suppliers, what questions would you ask before deciding to work with one? For example, would you confirm whether they accept small orders, ship directly to customers, provide tracking numbers, or allow samples before placing a larger order?

I imagine these details can make a difference when you're trying to avoid delivery problems and customer complaints, especially when running a new store with a limited budget. For experienced dropshippers, which supplier checks have helped you avoid problems, and what warning signs would make you walk away from a potential supplier?

Question What's your actual AI video workflow for organic dropshipping?

I've been testing Higgsfield pretty heavily and honestly burning a lot of credits trying different models with basically the same concept/prompt, but the results still don’t feel as good or as natural as the viral AI ecommerce videos I see.

I'm also not writing most prompts manually. Usually I use GPT or Claude to write/refine the prompts, and sometimes use MCP to generate directly.

My current workflow is roughly:

  1. Find/reference a video concept
  2. Write the video idea/script
  3. Generate separate scene images
  4. Animate those images into short clips
  5. Edit everything together for TikTok/Reels

The main problem is that the final video often feels too "AI generated" or just doesn't have the same hook/retention as good organic content.

At this point I'm not sure where the bottleneck actually is:

  • Bad script / weak shot sequence?
  • Scene images not realistic enough?
  • Too much detail in prompts?
  • Not enough detail?
  • Wrong model for image-to-video?
  • Trying to generate individual scenes instead of generating longer continuous shots?
  • AI-generated prompts themselves being part of the problem?

For people actually getting views/sales with AI organic content, what does your workflow look like?

Do you start with the script, the hook, or the reference video first?

And how much of the final result comes from prompting vs reference images/video vs editing afterward?

Would especially appreciate answers from people actually testing ecommerce products, not just making cinematic AI videos for fun.

Question AliBaba sourcing - NO MOQ

Hey all,

Looking to get back into dropshipping and found a rly cool product.

Problem is I can’t find ANYWHERE to source it cuz it’s brand new and tricky to search for (obscure).

I found it on alibaba but it’s MOQ is 100, and I’m a student and don’t have the capital yet for that.

Good news: I know it’s out there - bad I can’t get it.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I can’t find it on zen, Ali express, but CAN on alibaba.

Thanks

Question Should I open an LLC just for the Shopify Collective?

I'm a Canadian and already own a corporation here in Canada. I would like to get into dropshipping but before I create my shopify store I'm wondering if it's worth opening up a US LLC to do business under instead of my Canadian corporation so that I can get access to US suppliers through Shopify collective. Id prefer not to create an LLC if I don't have to.

Marketplace Looking for 3PL and fulfilment agent partners in China (DM only)

Post image
• Upvotes

Hi everyone,

We're GoRouteOne (gorouteone.com), a sourcing and fulfilment company for ecommerce brands and dropshippers. We're expanding and looking to add more 3PL and fulfilment agent partners in China.

This is for China-based warehouses only.

What we're looking for:

- 3PLs or agents with their own warehouse in China

- Experience fulfilling DTC and dropshipping orders, one by one and in bulk

- Storage, pick and pack, QC, and custom packaging or branding

- Reliable international shipping with tracking (US, UK, EU and more)

- Clear pricing and fast communication

How we work with partners:

- You keep using your own systems (Dianxiaomi, Mabang or anything else you already run)

- You'll also get access to our partner dashboard, and all orders, stock and shipping updates need to be kept up to date there as well

- We bring the clients and handle the client side, you handle the warehouse side

What you get:

- Steady order volume from our growing client base

- One point of contact for all clients, so you're not dealing with lots of separate brands

- A long-term partnership as we grow

If you're interested, please send me a DM, not a comment, with:

- Your warehouse location(s)

- Services you offer

- Your pricing (storage, pick and pack, shipping)

- The systems you currently use

Thanks!

Discussion Where do dropshipping agents actually find products in China?

• Upvotes

As a dropshipping agent in China, we don't just rely on AliExpress or Alibaba.

Here's where we usually look:

🏭 1688 — Local Chinese suppliers and manufacturers.

🤝 Factory connections — Direct contacts with factories, especially for specific product categories.

🔍 Specialized suppliers — Useful for niche products that are harder to find on major platforms.

📍 Regional sourcing — Different cities in China specialize in different types of products.

But here's the thing: Finding a product is usually easier than finding a reliable supplier.

Price matters, but so do product quality, communication, consistency, and fulfillment.

Curious — what's the hardest product you've tried to source from China?

Discussion Abandoned checkout messages: how many do you send before it turns into spam?

• Upvotes

Curious where people have landed on this, because I've seen it go both ways.

One reminder a little while after someone leaves checkout seems to pull back a decent share of orders. But some stores send three or four, add a discount on the last one, and push it over SMS or WhatsApp as well as email. At that point I'd guess some shoppers just block the number, and a few learn that leaving checkout is how you get a coupon.

The things I'd want to know from people who've tested it:

  • How many messages do you send, and over what time window?
  • Does the first one have a discount, or do you hold it back?
  • Email only, or SMS/WhatsApp too? Did the channel change the results or the complaints?
  • For COD stores, do recovered orders get refused at the door more than normal orders?

That last one is the bit I'm most unsure about. A nudged buyer might be less committed than one who finished checkout on their own, which would matter a lot when you're paying shipping both ways.

Discussion I've spent the last three years running marketing for a travel company

Thumbnail
gallery
1 Upvotes

I've spent the last three years running marketing for a travel company, and in that time we pushed our ads to around 200 million impressions. The part nobody talks about is how much of that budget goes into learning what doesn't work and the awkward conversations that come with that. You launch five creatives, four of them flop, and you only find out after the money is gone. For a big brand that's a line item. For a dropshipper or a small shop testing a new product, it's often the whole month.

That frustration is why I built TwinCity. It's a simulated audience based on millions of rows of European consumer behavior data, a digital twin of real society, that you can show your ad to before you spend a cent on it. You upload your creative, choose who you're trying to reach, and see how that crowd responds: what grabs them, what they scroll past, and why. It doesn't replace real-world data, but it means you walk into a campaign with your weakest ideas already cut.

Today is launch day, and I'd rather hear from real people than shout into an ad account, so I'm giving everyone one free test. No payment method required. Run an ad through it at twincity.app and tell me honestly what felt useful and what felt off. I'm building this in the open, and every piece of feedback goes straight into the next version.

Discussion Halloween + Black Friday could be huge for dropshipping this year 🎯

Halloween and Black Friday are two periods I think dropshippers should be paying serious attention to.

Last year, I made close to $15k in profit around this season so I know how much opportunity there can be when you get the product, creatives and offer right. But it’s not just about finding a trending product and throwing money at ads. Timing matters your creatives need to grab attention, and your numbers have to make sense. Halloween products have a short selling window while Black Friday brings plenty of competition. The people preparing early and testing properly will be in a better position to take advantage. This year, I'm particularly interested in home decor and how products can be positioned for seasonal shopping. What niches are you guys focusing on for Halloween and Black Friday?

Review Request Advice and critique on my website selling leakproof underwear for seniors

Im selling leakproof underwear for bladder leaks targeted towards seniors

Hello i recently launched ads for two days under a cbo with 80 usd budget and its doing quite bad at 120 cpm along with 30 usd cpa. Just looking to reduce the cost and hopefully it drops off after I create better image ads as well as revise my copy

Please have a look at my offer and product at https://puredries.com

My ads I have online performing poorly are here

https://www.facebook.com/ads/library/?active_status=active&ad_type=all&country=ALL&is_targeted_country=false&media_type=all&q=%22Puredries.com%22&search_type=keyword_exact_phrase&sort_data%5Bmode%5D=total_impressions
&sort_data%5Bdirection%5D=desc

Appreciate any feedback! Im thinking increase my product price, improve ads by targeting core beliefs (i thought leakproof underwear needed to be thick like a diaper, but i was wrong…) e and also better ad images and concepts. That and placing my strongest ads into a single cbo.

Question Invested into my new dropshipping store and want to make sure I’m ready for the Xmas rush. What should I focus on right now?

Hello everyone, I’m new to dropshipping, but unlike a lot of beginners who just test the waters, I’ve already invested a significant amount of my own money into setting things up (store design, initial marketing, and backend tools). With Christmas right around the corner, I know this is the biggest shopping season of the year, and I want to make absolutely sure I am prepared so I don't flush my investment down the drain.

For those of you who have successfully navigated the Q4/holiday rush before, I would love your honest advice on a few specific things:

  1. Logistics & Shipping
  2. Ad Spend Optimization
  3. Common Mistakes Thanks in advance for any help!
